Khalil & Alt On Injuries & Derwin On Colts | LA Chargers

What do you see uh from the coach on film? Oh wow, bro. Complete team, complete offense, one of the top O lines. They got skilled players, one of the best bats. So, great team overall. What’s the week been like after that Dolphins been when we talked to you after the game? I mean, for the defense in general, kind of see like the vibe was uh like you guys seemed not satisfied with how you won the game. Like what’s what’s the week been like after that? Uh just preparation, taking it day by day and improving on everybody looking in the mirror and improving on what they can get better at. And I feel like we’ve been just attacking the week all week long and um we’ve been getting better all week. Did you Did you break a bone in your in your wrist? What happened to your wrist? That don’t even matter. I don’t even know. I don’t really care. But we we good. Are you going to like play with a club or a wrap or or do you not know yet? Uh I may I don’t even know yet. I may wrap it up just depending on how I feel game day and just keep going. But we good. When did it happen? Uh Broncos game. Uh the sack. Bo Nick Knicks. I pushed down on the ground cuz I didn’t want to put my weight on the quarterback. So I pushed on the ground. That’s when it happened. But they just been lingering ever since. Yeah, Taylor, bro. Keep keep going, bro. We got a long season. Just with the with the Colts offense, just what about Jonathan Taylor and their run game has been working. Uh, bro, MVP MVP caliber running back that we going against, man. One of the top backs. Got a lot of respect for him. Um, and I can’t wait to go compete against him, honestly. How much does winning a game period, not how it unfolds or but just winning does that carry over? Uh oh man, that’s that’s why we play the game. That’s why every man, every coach, uh even the owners uh they selected everybody to be here uh to win games and uh that’s what we here to do and uh we trying to do our part every every part on that every time we take the field to win the game. Dur. What’s the emphasis this week for you guys as a run defense? uh being us winning first down set the tone and um everybody to the ball really every don’t leave one man that made the tackle everybody to the ball you eliminate a lot of mistakes everybody to the ball is it disappointing to give up 100 yard rushes to uh two weeks in a row yeah yeah for sure uh it it’s disappointing bro the way we didn’t finish last week um you know like we love our offense but as a defense we like to hold our own like we like to come out and make the plays so but it’s complimentary football they had our back last week and we going to make sure we come out this weekend We we hold our own this week. You know when you’re going to be able to get back out there? Nah, man. You got to got to ask Jordan Co. I don’t know what they thinking. How do you how do you feel percentage wise like with your elbow, man? Um just based on how I feel out there. It’s slightly ready to go. Slightly. Yeah. Slightly ready to go, man. I I would say I percentage wise, I can’t give you a percentage wise, but yeah, it feel good. Feel good. It don’t hurt at all. So that’s always a bonus. So So you feel like you could play it this week? For sure. For sure. Is there any thought in your mind about, you know, there’s a Thursday night game coming up in a couple days and sitting this one out? Like, does that thought ever cross your mind? No, man. I’m I’m a competitor and I, you know, I like to be out there with my my brothers. So, uh, yeah, man. But whatever they want to do, I’m just just doing what I’m told and I’m not trying to speak too soon and you know I mean trying to let the let the chips fall as they may. How how painful was it the the actual injury? I asked cuz we we’ve never What you want me to say? No, we we’ve never seen you react like that. Like that’s what I’m saying. That tell that tell you a lot right there. But uh no, it’s just the fact that I was frustrated when it happened. I was like, man, I thought I rolled over and my arm was with me and I seen it just hanging. So, I’m like, ah, that that part was more frustrating than how it felt. But, um, yeah, picked it up, thought popped it in. And so, um, yeah, now we here, man. I’m thankful, man. God is amazing. What’s the, uh, the rehab been like? Has it been more rest or? Shout out to my guy S, man. My guy S, man. He been taking care of me, man. Um, yeah, man. Be honest. Yeah, we’ve been chipping away at it. got a morning plan, a plan for when I go home, just like doing like a 24-hour process of just chipping away, getting getting swelling down early, and then been able to just catch up with the strength. We seen Washington on the sideline, calling your coach coach. Yeah, right. That’s I hate that. I hate that part of it. But uh I mean it’s it’s just I feel like you you gain a lot more insight just being able to hear the calls, hear the coaches and all those different things and how they thinking and how they talking on the mic and uh what they expecting from us and so uh yeah and then being able to just relay the messages to the guys. But yeah, way I I can’t wait to take that take that headset off. Did you learn anything like obviously you’ve been around forever, but did you learn anything about the process being on the on the headset? That’s what I’m saying. It ain’t really even about the process. It’s just more about like the the thought process of coach Menard and and and what he thinking and you know what I mean and what he sees and so uh yeah it’s just it’s just interesting to see that part part of it and you want to be on the other end of it. You know what I mean? Yeah. So no coaching in your future? Ah nah I don’t want to speak too soon. I’m not going to speak too soon, but definitely not at this level or you know what I mean? Probably my kids or something or my my kids cousins or something maybe. But not nah nah nah. This it’s frustrating. Uh just and not saying that it’s frustrating to watch us play, but it’s just frustrating not being able to, you know, have some type of contribution to the game. What do you think of a coming in, man? Um, dude came in playing around, man. Uh, he Yeah, he’s a hell of a player, man. I’m I’m excited to to go out and play with him. Yeah. No, I mean, I I’ve been out of the boot. Now, it’s just continued to be, you know, like I said, kind of what it started. It’s just day by day getting back at it, putting more and more on it that I can do and just seeing how it reacts. How do you feel compared to when you heard it in in week four? I mean, yeah, definitely definitely feel better. It’s definitely, you know, on the in the healing process now. It’s just getting it as strong and getting it as ready as it can be to, you know, go back out there. Do you do you feel like like what percentage would you say you’re at uh out of a 100? You know, it really it really varies dayto day. I wouldn’t say I would say I’m at a set percentage at this point. I would just say, you know, I’m getting better and that’s kind of the main idea. And like I’m continue to progress in my recovery, you know, getting back on the field some, just seeing what I can do and just kind of working from there. Do you feel like there’s a shot you could play Sunday? I mean, I I’m not going to say I can’t or can’t. I’m just going to say that, you know, like I said, I’m back on the field now and we’re just going to continue to progress and and see where it means for me going forward. And and how how’s it been for you watching these past couple games? Yeah. Had it been tough? I mean, obviously want to be out there. That’s always, you know, that’s what I’ve signed up to do is to play football. And uh you know, it’s tough being hurt, but you know, my my goal right now has just been to help the guys who were in there. And if I see anything on film or or seen anything that I can help with, that’s been my my goal in my job. And uh you know, it’s been it’s been fun to watch the guys go out there and battle. That’s always what you want to see them do. And that’s what they’ve been doing. So, it’s been fun. But you know, at the end of the at the end of the day, you always want to be out there. for you comfort wise. Is there like hurdles that you feel like you have to get over to be feel 100% going at 100%. I mean, I wouldn’t say there’s hurdles, but there’s definitely things that I want to make sure I can do. You know, you want to be able to go out there and, you know, handle yourself in the run game, handle yourself in the pass game, be able to make sure you can, you know, accept and move power at the same time and be ready for that. So, I think those are things that I’m looking for in my recovery process. [Music]

  1. Please get Khalil Mack a ring. He’s probably retiring after this season unless we go on a deep run even then he might so let’s do it ⚡️

  2. Joe alt is really just a big justin herbert that plays tackle. They handle the press the same way. Its fun to watch those two. I hope Joe plays this week.

  3. these guys are well coached they didn't give any real details into their recovery process for the mystique. goddamn joe alt could be a politician with those answers lol

  4. With all due respect, why even bring up the Thursday night game to Mack? 😂
This is an opportunity for us to go 5-2 against the current “best” team in the AFC! Why would he NOT want to play Sunday? 😂😂😂

  5. Khalil fits his name properly, built like a Mack truck ⚡️⚡️⚡️. Let’s not rush Alt’s return/recovery we need this man for the next decade and a half.

  6. There’s a bunch of doubters out there right now. With that being said prove EVERYBODY WRONG! Not just next man up but keep the JUICE UP and play what’s in front each drive! BTFU! Please fix the tackle issue and schematics! Make it a SoFi Chargers Home Game type crowd with the new UNIS

  7. At least injuries happened early into the season. We'll all be ready to finish the season. We'll be a the same animal but a different beast (Kobe) BOLTGANG BTFU ⚡️⚡️⚡️

  8. The chargers are horrible yall are never getting a Super Bowl with your running backs as "Kimani Vidal" Kimani Vidal is the worst runningback of all time cut him please he's horrible

  9. Proud of you guys fighting valiently against a great team, #1 offense. Hang in there guys, we're slowly coming back. Congrats to Khalil being back and getting that sack! Love my Chargers! 💙⚡️⚡️⚡️
