It’s Time To Have A Tough Conversation About The Atlanta Falcons…
I’ve listened to you in the comments section, Falcons fans. I’ve gone back. I’ve watched the tape. And now it is finally time for Moose to admit to all of you that it is time to have a tough conversation about the Atlanta Falcons. Welcome in Dirty Birds fans to Falcons today by Chat Sports. My name, like I said, is Moose. And like I also told you, today’s episode is going to be kind of an enigma, kind of like the Atlanta Falcons in 2025. I still cannot figure this team out for the life of me. What are they? Because there are moments, there are games, there are quarters and halves that I’m like, this is a top five team in the NFL. And then there are times when I’m like, blow this entire thing up and start over. They cannot put together any sort of consistency in 2025. They are literally the definition of a bipolar football franchise. How do you go up against the Minnesota Vikings and establish that kind of dominant play and then the very next week get blown out to the Carolina Panthers 30 to nothing? How do you go up on Monday Night Football against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills and make him look scared for his life in the pocket and then go out and fall flat against M. Jones and the San Francisco 49ers the very next week? How do you go from energy and emotion like Raheem Morris is showing right here to utter disbelief, panic, confusion, and ultimately feeling like Michael Pennock Jr. did when he got sacked, strip sacked actually, by the 49ers. I just don’t get it. I don’t understand. It’s just like there are so many different questions that I have for this coaching staff as to what are we talking about in practice? What are our practice habits like? What is the vibe before the game? And honestly, what do the players think of you? Because it is so peaks and valleys every single game. Clutch Points, one of my very favorite sports blogs to read, was talking a little bit about the Falcons in 2025, specifically when it came to this loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Here what they had to say. This was Atlanta’s second straight prime time let down under head coach Raheem Morris. It left the team searching for answers to familiar problems. They saw inconsistent quarterback play, a disappearing run game, and ultimately defensive lapses. With the loss, the Falcons now fall to three and three and slipped into third. into the NFC South. This was a sobering reality for a team that is built to win now. But here’s the thing, this isn’t the entire whole story because every single time, myself included, I’ll be the first one to admit, I was on the hype train. After the Bills game, I’m like, you need to give the Falcons their respect. They can beat the very best teams. But we also saw that they can lose to backups. I just don’t get it. How do you have dominant performances against the Minnesota Vikings and against the Buffalo Bills and still up the next week? I don’t understand. And as I alluded to earlier in the episode, at times this team looks like a f a top five team. It does. You can’t convince me that that defense against the Vikings, against the Bills, and their play against the Washington Commanders that they didn’t have performances where you were like, “Oh my lord, look at this team. Oh my Atlanta, what’s going on here? This is something special.” But also in the exact in the same vein, you got games like the Buccaneers where you lose a heartbreaking loss because you miss field goal. He gets shut out on the road to the Carolina Panthers and then on the road against the San Francisco 49ers, you put up a big fat dub of not a dub, excuse me, a big fat goose egg. It was just a blunder of a game and social media is reacting the very same way that I am. They don’t understand. One of my favorite Falcons Twitter sites said this, and I thought this was a very sobering statistic. The Falcons entered Sunday night as the second total offense in the NFL based on yards, but that’s empty calories. They are now a bottom five scoring offense at 18.3 points per game. That’s worse than the Bengals, the Dolphins, who you play this coming Sunday, and the goddamn Jets. What? What? At some point, you have to ask Raheem Morris what the hell is going on because ultimately with what the players are saying about the talent in their room, with the p the talent that we see on paper, we have no business being as bad as we are in certain spots. And the more and more that I think about Raheem Morris’s inability to coach this team, the more and more he’s proving me right. I have wanted to defend Raheem so badly. And then he said this about the 10 men on the field penalty, not penalty, excuse me, 10 men on the field situation against the San Francisco 49ers when this iced the game. A defensive tackle was missing from the field on that critical third and 13 that San Francisco converted in the fourth quarter on Sunday which ultimately iced the game. Raheem Morris said that particular position shouldn’t have impacted the play to that degree. With third and 13, that shouldn’t matter. You should still get off the grass. He said if it had been a corner or a deep dropper, I would have called timeout. Or if it had been a third and one with a defensive lineman missing, I would have called timeout. Dude, what the hell are you talking about? It is not the play design or the play result. It is the timing of the situation. It is late in the fourth quarter with a chance to go ahead and take the lead. Stop this team. Force a field goal. You It doesn’t matter what if it’s third and one or third and 13. Have 11 men on the field. Like what are we doing? What kind of response is this? It’s an inept one. And I understand where he’s trying to come from, right? Like he’s looking at it from a situational football perspective. But if you take away that, I don’t even know what you want to call it that this situation and you look at it from a bird’s eye view and you say it’s third and whatever late in the fourth, you have an opportunity to stop the opposing offense to get back in the football game and you have 10 men on the field. It’s inexcusable. Raheem said that, Jeff Albrich said that. And I’m not absolving Jeff Albrich either. Like as a defensive coordinator, that is still your defense as well. Be better. I just don’t get it. My belief in Raheem Morris is waning every single day. Every single day, it just gets a little bit less and a little bit less and a little bit less. I’ve got more to say on the whole subject coming up here in just a little bit. But before I do that, I got to tell you about our friends over at Prize Pick. Let’s get more newsy about everything when I’m talking about why this is a tough thing to talk about with the Falcons. Morris said that it was very possible that Divine Diablo is going to go on IR. Now, where does this tie in to what we’re talking about? It’s not going to get better right away. It just isn’t. It isn’t because despite the injuries, this team is full of talent and we continuously see the disappointing losses due to the inept coaching mistakes. 13-10 late in the fourth, third and 13, you have 10 men on the field. Even producer Alper right now is laughing. It’s hysterical. And if you don’t believe me that this team believes in itself from a player perspective, Jake Matthews, our left tackle, had this to say. We didn’t execute. We got all the pieces and the confidence. We have to go out there and get it done like we did last week against the Bills and consistently do that. Then we’ll be the team that we know how to be. And it’s not just the coaching mistakes in weird windows. It’s the red zone offense is just diabolically bad. They are second to last. The penultimate position for passing touchdown percentage in the red zone in 2025. 7%. The only team that’s worse, the Giants, and they’ve got a brand new quarterback. Also, by the way, they have the worst red zone scoring percentage in the NFL on the road, 28.5%. How can you be second in yards going into that game against the 49ers and now be a bottom five team in points per game? It just doesn’t make sense other than the fact that your play calling is predictable. Your quarterback is not progressing and you’re just making boneheaded decisions. Moose, what was it like last year? There you go. This is total red zone percentage efficiency. By the way, like as a whole, 2025, it is 44.4% of the time that you’re scoring when you’re in the red zone. In 2024 with Kirk Cousins, it was 54.7. Those numbers are actually deceiving as well because Kirk got injured and then he started on that interception brigade. Final translation, I don’t know how long I can defend Raheem Morris. I really don’t because at some point with the talent that you’ve got on this team, an MVP candidate running back and Bejian Robinson, you’ve got Drake London, you’ve made the right decisions and the right personnel calls on your defense. You’ve drafted well. Xavier Watts, Billy Bowman, Arnold, not Arnold Located, Jaylen Walker, James Pierce Jr., everybody looks like a hit and yet we’re still three and three dealing with the same that we dealt with last year. I don’t get it. So my confidence level in Raheem right now is like a three because my guess is that we go up against this the Miami Dolphins this Sunday and you win and you win convincingly. Great. Then what about the next week? Because you got the Patriots after that and that’s a really good team. That’s all I got for you on this episode. A reminder to hit that subscribe button. Like today’s video. I apologize if it’s not the good news you wanted to hear, but this is what I’m seeing. I’m calling it like I see it. As always, Falcons fans, rise up and be cool.

Falcons fans – Do you still believe in Raheem Morris? Yes or No?
I would argue our roster is significantly better this year compared to last (especially defensively) and it feels like we will struggle to get 8 wins this season, love Raheem but at some point somethings got to give
The only positive is that we have a cushy run home so we should go on a run of wins…. But we will find a way to waste it
1 he gotta go and offensive coordinator
I never believed in Raheem Morris…I was disappointed as HELL when Mr. Blank chose his ASS! Yes…we did well in some games…but, we are not consistent and cannot make it to the playoffs by winning one game then losing a game then winning a game then losing a game mentality! All I can say is we better win the Miami game or its over!!!
Charmin soft play and brainless coaching. My lil cuzzin better from madden alone. He will run roughshod on em w da madden playbook
was it just me or did anyone notice penix smiling and laughing every time he over throw horribly as if it wasn’t the 4th quarter down 2 possessions?
Bring the old host back cause you nor a lot of these so called fans know what you're talking about. Zach Robinson is the only thing Raheem is to blame for. Same way you got rid of Jimmy Lake you should have got rid of Zach Robinson. He's an high school OC. Week after week he calls the same 3rd grade concept plays. How can you grade a QBs progression on less than 10 starts and with the worst OC in football ? You was just calling him a franchise QB after the bills game. You need an experienced OC that knows how to spread the ball around and get creative.
Raheem needs to go, he's not a good head coach. There's no excuse for this team to be awful.
It time for Raheem and Zac Robinson gone. Gm needs to be hot seat as well. I am so sick of the inconsistencies of the front office. Been fan since 1990.
Head coach an OC need to go hope they contract don't have guaranteed years
Bruh y’all literally panic too much .. We 6 games in! 1st 3 games everyone thought The Chargers was the best team in the NFL.. And the Chiefs wasn’t gonna make it.. How does that look now? It’s a marathon not a sprint! We not gonna play lights out WEEKLY!!! Our QB is 9 games in… RELAX!
I never have believed in Raheem I support him because he is our coach but I don’t feel he’s meant to be a head coach right now
I agree with you bro they need to be more consistent and stop with the Jekyll and Hyde
the fact that our offense is worse than the fuckin 0-7 jets just sums up what it means to be a falcons fan 😂😂. This whole organization is a fuckin joke and im tired after 20 years just seeing zero fuckin results. From penix inability to get past his first read to raheem fuckin morris having 10 men on the field like wtf lol how do oyu not see that as a coach like its simple coaching. I dont believe in this team anymore let alone raheem or arthur blank.
It’s a coin flip which team will show up. Have to be more consistent
They calling out Zack play calling
The only thing that does make sense, is that betting ruined the NFL! Its all about betting! Vegas controls who wins and by how much! And everyone rolls with it because they all get paid the same if they win or lose! Make the NFL to where players ONLY get paid if they perform great! Would Change everything!
That's what it means to be a falcon fan it's coaching and we can't get it together peanut butter no jelly.
Because they keep getting away from run game. It's Iike they are scared to force the opps to adjust to our offense!! This is ridiculous. USE THE RUN GAME no matter what and stop becoming one dimensional!!!!
"BAD DREAM RAHEEM" has got to go!! He sucked the first time he was a head coach in the ATL, then failed the three years he was the Coach in Tampa Bay! WTF made Fontenot and Blank sign off on this clown?
You want ot fix the Falcons?
1) Fire this clown of a coach and replace him with someone with a track record of WINNING!!
2) Get Rich McKay the HELL out of Atlanta! Whether or not he's "officially a member of the Falcons organization," he is still having an influence on how this organization is run and he's a complete failure! Isn't he in charge of the United now? They just finished this season with the second-worst record in soccer! HE MUST GO if for no other reason than to save the United!
3) Arthur Blank is a meddling PITA who has shown that he has no business running a football organization! Sign the checks, stay the hell out of the way of the football people running the show, and stay the hell off the sidelines!
The persistent problem with this organization starts at the top! Everyone in management is worthless, "Bad Dream" Raheem Morris is awful at coaching, and Arthur Blank is simply inept at running a football team! They ALL have to go!!
Ream is not a coach he's got people in place for that all he can do is stand there and look dumbfounded. I don't think he makes any decisions on the sidelines, don't think he knows how. He is a pr man that's it. Watch all the other coaches in the other games on the sidelines they are active some how or another he's not
Same old Dirty Turds we been seeing since 28-3. That damn ghost is still here!!! I had high hopes for Raheem but it's starting to look like he doesn't know what he's doing. 7-8 wins if we're lucky, another trash team
"Stats are for losers", Raheem Morris.
You mean like your record as a HC? 😂
@6:20 a failure like this would have any one of us fired from our jobs on the spot. This man has no idea what he's doing.
This was also Leadbrick's M.O. with the Jets. That defense was loaded and he was constantly bailed out by the talent.
I don’t know I DONT KNOW I’m so lost and confused I legit don’t know how to feel or to think. I’m literally just taking it week by week I’m not looking ahead not even 2 games in advance. Week by week.
Penix…I’m still backing him but ffs have a effing feel when the pocket is collapsing and make a move.
Zach Robinson OHHHHH ZACH ROBINSON I’m not even gonna start bc imma lose it.
Raheem effing focus
12:23 one week at a time one fucking week at a time I’m tired of looking ahead
For some time this has been a team with a lot of talent but aweful coaching. The problem is that upper management has historically selected bad coaches to lead this team. If I were a top draft pick with a great future, as much as I may like the Falcons, I would do my time and move on.
No
Morris and Robinson need to go.
They are inconsistent. I looked at Michael penix’s home vs away comparison. At home he’s 67% 8.6 AVG, 4/1 TD INT ratio. Away he’s 54% 5.8 AVG, and a 1/2 TD INT ratio. This team truly can’t play on the road. Everything is worst on the road. They need to fix the issues that we are making on the road. We’ll never make it far if we can’t play in another teams stadiums
Ive been quiet for the most part. Our team over all is a nightmare from coaching to players. offense wise is just atrocious. The offense is only centered around Bjian. He played bad so the offense plays bad. Sure we have drake london and the occasional kyle pitts but honestly they’re just sloppy. Someone thats due to play calling but even in the bills games they made plenty of mistakes and thats on the players. Even against the vikings and the commanders. Now dont get me started with our defense. Its trash and sloppy plain and simple. They can’t capitalize on conversions they cant really stop the run and there only redeemable quality is the secondary and that as well is sloppy. Again sure the coaching is to blame as well. Our coaches have just sucked and honestly got lucky. but this team has the ability to be good if the players get there heads out of there ass and play well when the coaching is actually well. Its a whole team problem that just needs to be fixed. Its like a beautiful rusted 1970 dodge challenger or something that can be beautiful that can be amazing but it just has too much rust and is missing pieces. At no point should we be praising our team for the wins they do. It only kicks the can down the road from the trades we need to make and the coaching staff that we need to fire. I love this team and they can be good. They’ve had good games but overall its a fluke. Changes need to be made coaching and player wise. But im hopeful they can turn it around we just need to lose 3 games in a row and then we’ll see the results we need and this team will change. I dont want to see my team lose i dont want to ever route against them but enough enough. Changes will only be made when the franchise and the team are doing poorly and frankly it shouldnt even have to come to that but thats the only thing i believe will light a fire and see the results we need to see. It sucks it truly sucks. This team has the potential to go to the playoffs every year and the only team that stands in their way is themselves. They shoot themselves in the foot each year and this year is no different until changes happen.
My confidence in this team to be good is 8/10 they can do it. They have the talent they have some decent coaches who are just inexperienced and other coaches who just need to be fired but overall if they clean house if they make trades to help stop the run. Get another wide receiver because london and mooney just can’t seem to do it and get away from this bjian plays good teams does good offense. He’s a great playmaker but if he’s the only playmaker that is game changing then what are we doing. Love him he deserves mvp for the year because holy cow he’s been sensational but we need more weapons that are consistent.
Love yall hang in there this team will change and when it does we’ll be golden
