At 6-1, it’s only natural to think about the upcoming contract talks about Daniel Jones. With that in mind, how do yall feel about it? What’s the most you’d be okay with? I think it’s safe to say, barring any major setbacks, a deal will inevitably get done so what’s your limit?

  1. If Jones finishes the year without falling off, that’s probably what we’re looking at. It’s a lot of money, but the alternative is another spin on the QB carousel, and I can’t quite stand that idea.

  2. This is an overpay. We’ve had a pretty weak schedule and they are playing well. He is playing well. But this might be fools gold.

  3. Yeah bro, there is no way this happens icl. Pay him, but there’s no way we could even offer this.

Or am I trippin and we could actually offer this and still retain players like Pierce and Downs?

  4. I’m hoping a Mayfield/Darnold contract of 3-4 years at 30-40 million if he can keep up. It is fair and keeps us not too committed if he falls off. Thankfully we don’t have to deal with a JT or Pitt contract until next year

  5. I can live with 10th highest paid as long as he’s not close to resetting the market. Would prefer under 50 average though

  6. He is a grade A scammer. Giants gave him a big contract too after he went to the playoffs with him. Whats so different now?

  7. Yeah. This is brutal. On one hand he has been elite and earn this. On the other, this will cripple us with the cap.

  8. Let’s wait til we beat the Jags in Duval to back the brinks truck up, or at least clinch the division

  9. 35 million, part of reason is the amount of talent around him. Paying that kind of money he folds with the amount he has to make up with the missing pieces

  10. I hope DJ is smart enough to know that he’s already made more money than god and he can still make a lot of money and but leave enough to have a solid team around him. Just win

  11. I’m sorry but this was written by an alien. Who the hell writes a record as 6&1 and not 6-1

  12. I would say pay him up front and back load the contract into a roster bonus and incentives like Seattle did with Darnold. It’s a three year deal but they could dump him if his first season wasn’t good since his money is up front.

  13. That would pay him equivalent to Jalen Hurts. Looking at the names ahead of him I would say that’s a pretty fair market assessment. I’m not sure we will pay that but someone will.

  14. Do it. Sign the MF. The poise hes shown in the pocket. The fact that we elevated from being bottom of the league to top 3? Fuck yeah. Im ok with this.

  15. Ehhhh I’m loving what jones is doing but I was thinking more of a two year deal to find out eventual long term answer something like two years 90 million

  16. Honestly I hope we don’t do this for that amount. Darnold and baker both had middle of the pack contracts. I hope he takes a more team friendly deal. He already finessed the giants.

  17. Jones is playing like an absolute animal out there (in a good way), but it’s only been 7 games. Let’s hold off for a bit longer to get this contract done. That said, I want it to happen, I just think it’s smarter to give it just abit longer first, we’re not even halfway through the season.

  18. Im really hoping for a Baker Mayfield type contract as I think he is still in the “prove it” stage. 3/100-125.

  19. Let’s get one thing straight.

Giants signed him long term and he cursed them and still is.

Give him a player friendly prove it deal. 1-2 years and LOADED with money. Make the money worth it. Over compensate. That way if jones returns to his former self you aren’t on the hook long term.

Next year teams will have this film. They know what we look like with jones. Adjustments will happen.

Don’t get trapped. Give him a 2 year $80 mil deal or something like that. Let him prove this is the norm before locking him down

  20. I think the thing getting lost in all of this is just how much money QBs get paid. $51M/yr and he’s the 10TH HIGHEST PAID?!? That’s fucking wild.

  21. Im ok with making him the 10th highest paid in the league, hes def a top 10 qb this year

  22. Don’t do it. Just because baker worked out doesn’t mean Daniel will. This stinks of desperation.

  23. Does anyone in this sub remember or care that he signed a 40m a year deal already once before with the Giants? On an objectively worse run than he’s currently having too.

The Colts will likely need to pony up for 50m+ to keep him. Why on earth would he accept less than he earned from the Giants?

  24. If your team has a top tier QB but you only have to pay him top 10 thats a steal. What this boils down to is if people think hes a top tier QB and I will be the first to admit that before this season I didnt think he was one of the 32 best QBs in the league. Im glad hes proven me wrong for at least 7 games and look forward to him doing it for multiple seasons more

  25. Lets not get into a Dak situation, reign in those pens and let’s see if he can deliver the goods.

  26. I mean The Colts can just tag him and think for another year? Or atleast that’s what I would do

  27. This man knows how to earn a lucrative deal. I’m so happy for him as a Giants fan, we didn’t do him any favors and I’m happy he’s being treated well.

  28. If we go to the Super Bowl, I will advocate for this contract myself.

Until then, I think keeping our core players intact is more valuable than hedging a bet that Daniel Jones is our savior

  29. I posted about this other day and people were telling me he’d actually sign for low 30s.. we can only hope
