They should hire a POBO and a GM. Article seems to indicate they won’t, but the title depends on who gets hired?
They should do it right this time around. Article doesn’t make me optimistic they are.
Article also says they have no manager. Warren is done?

Damn, I kinda wanted Click but I admittedly don’t know much about either of these guys.
What happened to click?
Click no longer being considered is disappointing. Already won a World Series as a GM and hopefully is about to win another as an executive.
Sawdaye hasn’t really proven anything and in the one season he has any experience as GM, it was a very brief experience and was their worst (non-covid) season by wins since 2004 (I’m really just being hypercritical)
I think the title has at least something to do with the current position of who they eventually hire. Some executive positions that are contractual require that the person receive a promotion before they can break their employment contract without penalty.
So a current GM would need to get a PBO position to escape the penalty, whereas an Asst GM could take a position titled ‘GM’.
Looks like to me the Rockies are considering it one position- regardless of what title they give it.
Regarding Click, I wonder if his salary desires exceed what Monfort wants to pay.
Who knows.
And I’m sure whoever is hired will get to hire their own field manager. Shaeffer should be considered IMO, but there will be lots of good candidates.

I’m really mad they aren’t looking internally for a hire. Those always work out the best.
