  1. I’d have to imagine Contreras has the best shot, though cool that Turang’s late season power surge got him a nomination. Yelich obviously has no realistic chance of winning against Ohtani or Shwarber.

  2. This gives me hope to cling to for Joey Ortiz.

    Just two short years ago, Bruce Turang had an OPS+ of 61 over a full season, and now he’s a Silver Slugger finalist.

    Yes, I realize it was his first year, and this year wasn’t Joey’s first season. And that Joey had better numbers last year and then regressed this year. But a guy can dream!

  3. Not that I’ve paid any attention to Cardinals baseball, but how do they have two finalists both at the utility man position? Surely one or the other is a mainstay at some spot in the field?
