NHL Highlights | Wild vs. Devils – October 22, 2025

He lines right up there with Gritsuk is getting a chance to play with Mercer and Meyer tonight as Devil juggling some things on the line with the return of Stephan Mason. And I’m sure Gritsuk lining up against his Well, it’s going to be a key part of the game here from the Devil’s perspective. Look, this is your centering pass to Conand and it’s shifted down by Gumperson. But we’ve got a penalty as well. The Devils do. Marcus Felino going off. Look at this play by Dawson Mercer who’s centering this line of Conor and Brown 17. The way Dawson Mercer has played you go, well, he was on the top line. They were playing T. Well, Dawson Mercer uh is a very valuable guy and can fit in anywhere. And there’s the Rat holds it in. Goes into the corner favor. Centering pass goes back up top for Hamilton. Brat back to Hamilton. Tays up a shot. Save. Rebound. He sure couldn’t pull the trigger. Interchanging with right in the slot there, the bumper position there. And Douggee just getting it out towards the net right down. And we always say that if there’s a stick on the ice or redlection from up high there. All Devils on this power play as it’s got a minute nine to go. Brad back down low. Spin move by Heir, but it’s stick by Gerson. Back up top for Hamilton. And a bad save. Big save there. Thought it was one of his better all-around games. Six shots, three hits, three blocks. He was all over that game yesterday. Mason wins the power play part of that second unit. Hughes with a shot. Capri off looking for Bull. Doesn’t end up to get to him, but does deflect on net. Doors forced to make the save. Yeah, that’s a big save. First shot for the Wild. Aaron Bratton. Another teammate of mine. Just a real good solid intelligent player. Faber stops looking for an angle. Centering pass to Erikson. Knocked down by Esher. Good keep by Uricek. Drops it off Joerasenko. His back hand ends up on net and it’s gloved down by Dogs. Brown sharp angle shot goes off a stick of Rossi ends up in front. Brown could get a shot opportunity by Mercer and he shot it over the net. Oh, he can’t believe it. Devils still buzzing. A heave that gets gloved out of the air by Gustoson and he holds off. You look at the reaction from Mercer even after he shot the puck. He devils keep Brat cross ice pass to Dylan. Dylan with some room. Shot saved by Gustin. Rebound goes to Capri off and he’ll skate it out. He was wide open Brendan Dylan. Stolen back away by Brown trying to get it back behind the net but he’s checked off by Bull. Goes to the far boards where Dylan waits for it. Quick pass to Nemits. Now he finds Mercer. Tops off the bench to join the the bar. Ne with an instant shot that’s easily gloved away by Gustoson. And look, they’ve had to defend a bit at times. Um, but I think they’ve done a really good job and didn’t come out flat. Seanth with a shot and a save. Johansson trying to clear it back out. Nemits back down low. Carter looking for an angle. Drags it back to the high slot. [Music] Now to the hashtag back up top. Nezaves a shot deflected on. Gustoson with the save. Pretty good start to this period. Centering playing in a different line here tonight and playing center. Juice to Meer with a blast and a save. Rebound. Hughes. Couldn’t gobble it up. Now takes it to the blue line. Passes back to Peshi who pinches. Backhand shot save. Rebound. Skips back out to the blue line. Great job by Jack to knock it out of the air. Here comes Luke. Back behind the net. Devils heating up. Crowd feeling it. Peshi skips through trying to break through a check of Pitlick and the Devils keep it alive. Lu with a blast and a belly save but Jack to the blue line stops at the blue line finds Brat. Brad Pratt shot save rebound kicks to the far wall. You know he’s a guy that will get you a big goal when you need it and you need all different types of parts and roles to have a successful team and I think Pot had a really good game yesterday. sneaks it in in front to counter and the Devils score. More hard work and persistence and the Devils draw first blood and take a one to nothing lead. Well, you talked about Paul Connor last couple games getting to the blue paint and he finally gets rewarded at home in front. Let’s take a look at a million dollar replay brought to you by the New Jersey Lottery. Remember, anything can happen in Jersey. And it’s just good hard work from the Devils off the face off as they get it deep. And Brown, what does he do? Simplicity. Tries to go to the net. The puck cars out. Fair block by Nemits. And Estrosa centering pass doesn’t get through. Felo back to Hartman. And a bell save by Daw and he holds on. Local TriState GMC dealer. Christ, those are deadly numbers. [Applause] So you’re right, stay out of the box at all costs. Deflects on in a fanning attempt by Eurovv as New Jersey will protect television right here for the second while keeping alive. Bulium finds Spurgeon. Stoleed away by Jack Hughes all alone on the breakaway. Saved by Gustin, but Devils stick with it. Rat fans on his pass, gets it back. He’s made some key saves. Here’s the Wild defenseman bobbling the puck. Jack Brown to the point through Carter. Mercer. He’s got Middleton to contend with. Carter comes out, flips it back to Nemits to Mercer. Mercer Dylan doesn’t waste any time with a shot and scores. He went since December 24 without a goal till last night. make it two in a row for the defenseman and it’s two nothing New Jersey. He’s heating up with two goals in two games and this is just a old-fashioned hard work lunch pale t kind kind of shift that results in a goal. Devils are the puck. They’ve got guys moving their feet getting to it quickly and Gustin aggressive finds Cabris off brings it back into the zone. Baldi backhand over the net didn’t miss by much. Was going the step of the right foot as he sacrificed to block that shot. Here’s the opportunity I’m talking about from Baldi. Airmail did um to really stay here and help this team win. Yeah, good stuff Bryce. I mean they’re in good hands it looks like moving forward. A little dicey at times this year where the cap wasn’t over the New Jersey Devils. Eurichek for slashing at 449. Devils 0 for one on the power play and they score his first NHL goal. Gritsuk on the power play and the Devils take a three nothing lead. What a wrist shot. [Applause] Four assists already waiting for that first goal and it’s right off the face off. Look at the release after the Devils win it. And the quick barista right here by our city grits. Johansson. Rossy can’t send it back as it’s blocked. Sticking with it as Johansson climbs to the slot. Still with it. Heaves a shot. Shoulder save by Daws. Carter will take the rebound. Flip it, but it goes off a stick. You know what? He was playing to his identity last few games. And when you do that right, the offensive comes. And there’s Baldi. Devils do a good job shooting back, but it goes in as the shot just goes over the right shoulder of Daw. So, the Wild score their first of the game midway through. And now it’s 3-1. Well, now the Devils have to I’m sure Minnesota will have a push. And Baldi, this kid’s a heck of a hockey player. Hasn’t hasn’t had a lot of looks. In fact, a lot of the Wild haven’t because the Devils have defended so well. But look at him pull that puck back. He’s so big, strong. The long reach pulls it back just out of the reach of Nemitson. Goes top shelf short. Bouncing puck. Britzook takes it away. Trying to get around Favor. Can’t do it, but at least got it deeper into the zone. Now steals it back. Taps a pass to Jack. Backhand save. Loose puck. Broadin loose stick. Broaddin’s able to pick it back up. Peshi Palot back to Brat. Brat trying to get around the check of Hartman. Gets it back as he’s falling down. Gets it to Jack Hughes. Buck loose. Bouncing puck. Jack fires and a glove. Save by Gustoson. Wild have the tag. Back up. Baldi can’t bring it in. Makes a move around. Brown into the zone. They go. Flip to Hartman. Harman drives towards the net. Saved by Daw and he holds on. 29 seconds to go on the kill. But Daw shut the door again. Watch that little backhand saucer. What a pass by Baldi in the Devil’s own. And you see right there, just missed his shot. Hartman Baldi flips it down. Hamilton catches up with it. Pokes it into the corner. Kristoff loses the puck. Brat towards the empty net. And the Devils take a four to one lead. [Applause] No messing around here. Desper Brack with a bullseye accurate shot. There’s the hustle. I’m talking about the stick, the anticipation. Jack Hughes. Great pressure along the wall. Gritsuk after his first National Hockey League goal. Feathers at the length of the ice. There’ll be no icing. Put a pitchfork in this one. A sixth consecutive win for the New Jersey Devils as they beat the Wild here at the Rock 4 to one. [Music]

Arseni Gritsyuk scored his first career NHL goal while Nico Daws turned away 29-of-30 shots for the New Jersey Devils as they beat the Minnesota Wild 4-1.

  1. The devils have not only got the wins at the start of this season but are playing the type of Hockey most of us love watching! Congrats to the NJDs on another win & to Arseni Gritsyuk on opening his NHL goal account. Great Hockey name, he's got Grit in his game!

  2. Is Hischier hurt? Not injured, but maybe sore? I swear his hustle has not been there the past couple games. He's been just gliding a lot and taking really short shifts.

Anyway, I love this. Devils win again, and all but one of the goals was from their depth. This really bodes well for them.

  3. Oh the Wild were awful 🤮. I can’t believe they only lost 4-1 when it should have been 10-1. It was like they were just going through the motions. No life! I see Kaprisov was just on fire out there tonight 😂. Anymore performances like this the fans will need NoDoz to get through a whole game. This was one of the worst games I’ve seen them play in awhile. Well anyway after that imma need 7 scoops for my coffee so I can stay awake that was a real 😴.

  4. 6 wins in a row now! And before this, our winning streak was only half of that much since January 2023.

Also nice to see the Devils win back-to-back, that was another issue I’ve seen over the past couple of years.

Keep up this hot streak, boys!

  5. I’m sure The Wild homers will come out and tell us how dare we criticize but I’m not kidding I almost fell asleep. Obviously that 17 million that Kaprisov got didn’t pay off tonight but I’m still waiting for this pay off. We might be going through one of the worst times in the history of the Wild not because of record because they’re so unbelievably average or MEH 😭. The Wild haven’t been that bad record wise but they’re just good enough to barely make the playoffs or barely miss it. If this team doesn’t spell M-E-H for MEHHHH then no team does. In the Book of Revelations it says “Because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold , I will spew thee out of my mouth”! Ever had a lukewarm cup of coffee 🤮. That’s how the Wild play hockey just lukewarm.

  6. 6 in a row and counting! Grits can score 60 goals with that shot if he earns a permanent spot on the top line with Peanut Butter and Jelly! Hoping for it cause they’d rival that ‘75 Sabres 1st line as the best 3 man line of all time

  7. Hmmm the Devils are hot but I’d be careful putting to much hope in a winning streak. We saw the Wild do this last year and by the time January came around out of it. Kaprisov got hurt and the scoring dried up. Jack Hughes is hot right now but from the looks of it if something were to happen to him like Kaprisov last year could The Devils continue this pace and my short answer is probably not but it remains to be seen. They are vastly improved with Jack Hughes so keep him healthy. Btw don’t dethrone The Panthers quite yet. That’s a damn good team still and unless they’re dealing with a lot of injuries they’ll snap out of it.

  8. Great puck movement for Devils, lets keep it going and stay healthy…will go deep into the playoffs with this fortitud and I think this year they have a club as good as carolina and probably even better despite their lose to them early on.

  9. Why do the wild always look like they’re playing at half the speed of the other team and can’t even handle the puck. This team has some fundamental issues. Maybe it’s time for s new coach that can motivate them
