Where the Jaguars Prepare for London Game | Jacksonville Jaguars

[Music] Welcome to Off the Field presented by Dreamfinders Homes. I’m Kanani Stevens coming to you this week from the Grove here in Watford, England as the Jaguars are preparing to take on the Rams at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. The manor house you see behind me was built in 1720. And the resort has been operating here on 300 acres for the past 30 years. They’ve had some huge events here. They’ve had golf championships, international summits like the G20 and NATO. And of course, they’re the home away from home for the Jaguars. This is where the players and coaches spend the majority of their time here at the Grove in meeting rooms that are divided by player position groups. And coaches also have their own meeting rooms, so they can show film to the players and go over any strategy for the upcoming game. Meals for players and staff are served at the glass house which has buffet style serving for all of the players from international cuisine and also some American favorites. Most times the Jaguars come early and spend at least a week here in the UK. So important to have a good setup. The Jaguars arrived in the UK on Tuesday, so that means they will be practicing here for the week. They started staying at the Grove in 2013 and at that point the property decided to take this open field and convert it into a space where they could have American football practices. They’ve also put up temporary locker rooms and a weight room for the team so that they’ll be properly prepared for the game. This is the weight room that’s set up to NFL standards for any NFL team that’s practicing here at the Grove. They’ll have a normal setup to like what they have at their home facility. We also have a training table set up here for anything that the players might need with their athletic trainers. And then here is the locker room that they utilize while they practice here at the Grove. And this is home to probably the fanciest press conference in all of sports. This is the greenhouse here at the Grove. Normally filled with plants, they make some space here for media availability with players and coaches throughout the week.

Jaguars Team Reporter Kainani Stevens leads a tour of The Grove: The all-inclusive campus where players eat, sleep and practice. Check it out on this special edition of Off the Field, presented by Dream Finders Homes.

  1. Every team is/will play an international game, the Jags being able to dictate their requirements and maintain familiarity at The Grove, is definitely an advantage in these trips. I can understand the nervousness when it all started, but they are reaping the benefits now.

  2. Beautiful quaint location. Seems very peaceful. The press conferences have been good with good quality cameras and excellent questions. Go Jaguars!
