“I mean, I can’t generate offense. I do my job, I try to keep the puck out of our net, and hope that our guys can generate a couple.” – Dustin Wolf following the Flames’ 7th straight loss

  1. What we lacked in scoring we made up for in being mentally and physically tough to play against. The fight this team had last year is completely gone this year. This is largely the same roster too, so makes you wonder if there’s some behind the scenes stuff going on, unless the grit left with Kevin Rooney, which I seriously doubt. Wolf is right to speak out though, he’s the only reason we were in those games, other than the 6-1 Vegas game. Scoring one goal a game doesn’t cut it

  2. For the record I don’t think he was trying to throw shade at the players, he was just stating , he can’t generate offense, all he can do is his job and he has to hope the offense figures it out.

  3. I still don’t take this as him calling out the team, as much as r/hockey likes to take it. Is he frustrated with everything? Of course, everyone is. But he signed after seeing how last season went. He knew it was going to be tough sledding for a bit. Maybe not this tough. But still.

  4. Very clickbaity quote out of context. He was essentially asked “what’s it like watching an inept offense from the crease.”

As a competitor who wants to win, of course this is going to be his reply.
