Matas Buzelis Scores 21 As Bulls Bring The Physicality In Win Over Pistons!

a win in their season opener. Modis Bella scores 21 points. The Bulls have several players that score in double figures. And the Bulls get a grinded out win against the Detroit Pistons. We’re going to talk about it all and more, but you know what we got to do first. [Music] What’s going on, Bulls fans? Welcome to another episode of Chicago Bulls Central, your number one spot for everything Chicago Bulls related. I’m the host, Hayes, but more importantly, you guys can follow the channel at Bull Central Pod on every social media platform we happen to be on. With that said, let’s go ahead and get into this content today, y’all. And listen here, the Chicago Bulls get a dub against the Detroit Pistons. This was a game where the Bulls are up by 20 plus points at times. It comes down to the wire. Unfortunately, they’re not able to hold on to that win. But they get a big win in a major way against a team that most people have as one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference is what they have the Detroit Pistons in. The Bulls played them well throughout the entirety of the game. Now, I know there going to be a lot of people that do look at this game for the Chicago Bulls and do say things like, “Well, they weren’t able to hold on to the lead. How good are they?” Those type of things and those questions are going to pop up and I admit that they’re legitimate to a certain extent, right? But when you look at this game for the Chicago Bulls, and I want to point out some things here with the Bulls specifically. They got to the free throw line 32 times in this game, the physicality was there, and it was evident early by this team. 32. The Bulls took 30-pointers in this game. They shot 36% from three. This was not the same Bulls team that was running down on fast breaks and settling for bad three-point shots. They were attacking the paint. They were trying to get to the to the to to the teeth of the defense. We shot the ball 44% as a team, 36% from three, 81% from the free throw line as well. We outrebounded the the Detroit Pistons by four in this game, which they really killed us in the rebounds in the second half of this game, but the Bulls were able to still hold it out. And and just to talk about the shot distribution for the Bulls, right? I want to get into that bag a little bit for the for this Bulls team because we know that this was a team that wanted to be more physical and attack. when you break it down, uh, over almost 70% of the Bulls offense came from either mid-range, the paint, or the restricted area. Now, we didn’t take a whole lot of mid-range shots. We only only 7% of our shots came in the mid-range. So, the most of it came from in the paint and the restricted area. And, you know, a little over 33% of our of our shots came from the from the three above the break threes and corner threes. The Bulls showed a lot more intention about getting to the free throw line, and that was really good. 115 to 111 is what they won this game at. And when you look at this game, the the Bulls had six players to score in double figures. Six of them. Modis Bzelis was the second leading scorer. Uh he went seven of 12 from the field, seven of seven from the free throw line, six rebounds, one assist, three blocks for Modis Bzelis in this game as well. Nicola Vousvich, despite having one of the worst preseason stretches of any player in the NBA, he came into this game and Vu played like him. 11 of 18 from the field, four of six from the three-point line, 28 points, 14 rebounds, two assist, one steal as well from Nicolus. We had 12 points from Trey Jones as well, who was in the starting lineup for Kobe White. He had 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals in this game from Trey Jones, which is really good to see. 19 points, 11 assists, five rebounds, one block from Josh Giddy with six turnovers, though. So there you go on that one. Six turnovers from Josh Giddy. Uh he was five of 12 from the field, one of two from the three-point line, which is solid. And then we got 15 points off the bench from Kevin Herder, who was four of 11 from the field. He got to the free throw line six times and 14 points from Io Dumu as well in this game. He had five rebounds, two assists as well to add to that. Um also, the Bulls played this game like they needed to play it. They locked in and they and they gave a great first half. The second half, we got some things that we need to work on. We know that we’re a team that didn’t win a lot of games last season and we’re still young. You got to tighten that up. You’re going to lose more games than you’re going to win if you give that up. For example, the Bulls got outscored by 11 points in the fourth quarter of this game. The third quarter was even like 30 points for all teams. They got really killed in that fourth quarter of the game. 11 point deficit. The Bulls got to tighten that up. That that’s inexcusable. I I just want to be clear on that. It’s inexcusable to give up such a large margin in that fourth quarter when you’ve been playing with the lead. But for what it’s worth, the Pistons were a playoff team last year. They were a team that has has been together most of their core. So I I you know, I’ll give it a little bit of leniency in that place. But it’s just unacceptable to give it up when you’ve been when you were playing so solidly for the majority of that game. And the Bulls got to just look to tighten that up. And um you know for what for also the the Detroit Pistons only had a lead for 13 seconds in this game. The Bulls led this game throughout the entirety of this game and you just love to see that. But there are a couple of things that hurt this team today, right? And I want to be clear on it. One of those things and I know there going to be some people that look at box scores and try to say that Isaac Aoro was bad for the team. He wasn’t. And I’m going to highlight that by by looking at his the the impact that Isaac Aoro had. Right. So when Isaac was on the on the court for the Bulls, the Bulls were plus 17 and plus minus plus a net rating of plus 40. We had an offensive rating of 142 and a defensive rating of 102. What does that mean? Isaac Aoro did exactly what they wanted him to do when he was out there. Now, does he need to hit the shots better? Yes. But we know offense, he only took two shots today, but what he brought defensively, he had four assists, five rebounds. What he brought defensively was really good. Now, I will say this as a negative. Way too many personal fouls. He had five personal fouls in this game. You got to do it without fouling Isaac. Isaac’s defense is so important to this team. You need him to do it without fouling. If he fouls, it’s going to be ugly. You’re not going to be able like it’s it’s just hard to when you’re also not scoring the basketball. But like I said, his role is not to score. That is not Isaac Aoro’s role. His role is to come out there and be physical and play defense. And he did that. He did that today. and it was really good to see that from him um overall. So I I say this, the Bulls get this win 115 to 111 and it was a they had to work for it. They had to work their ass off for it, but they got it and they got it done and and that’s a good way to start off this season. bad second half in the game, but a really good way to start off the season and love to see the Bulls really come out here and give tons of effort like this in a game where listen, this Bulls team last season probably would have lost this game, especially with the way that it happened in the second half. They probably would have lost this game. Luckily, they didn’t. Um, you know, and they had they had a a 57% true shooting percentage. That’s really solid as well, right? So, the Bulls played this was better. It was more good in this game than bad. It’s just that the bad happened all at one time in one quarter and the Pistons were able to to make it interesting down the stretch of this game. And you know, the Pistons could have won this game down the stretch, but luckily the Bulls made enough plays to get this done. And that’s just really what it’s about. It’s about making enough plays and enough moves to get the to get the the job done. Um, somebody asked about PW. Let’s I want to take a look at what the onoff numbers were for Pew Will. So, just give me one second to get that up. Um, so we were plus one and plus minus with P will. We had a negative net rating of 2.6. An offensive rating of 97, which isn’t good. Offensive rating, you want the number to be higher. Defensive rating, you want the number to be lower. We had a defensive rating of 100, which is really good. P Will, I would say there were a couple of moments where P will passive, but I’ll say this, he he got physical when we needed to get it. I think he gave some really good defensive possessions for the Bulls. He only took two shots today. So, I mean, I’m not going to judge the offense based off two shots. Um, you know, four points, four rebounds, one steal, two blocks from P Will. Pretty solid game for your eighth guy off the bench. He was the eighth player to get off the bench for the Bulls. And I’d say pretty solid game by doing so. And I got to give credit as well for Billy Donovan. If people didn’t watch this game, one of the things that Billy Donovan did, especially early on in this game, is he played players in short stretches, right? So you you you saw three four-minute stretches for everybody. Nobody really played long stretches in this game and that did help the Bulls be more fresh in the second half. Now we had some mental lapses, so we weren’t really able to take advantage of that in the way that I would have wanted us to as far as in the second half of the game with the fresh legs that we did have, but I think the Bulls did a really good job. You know, well, Billy Donovan did a really good job at managing the rotations. We only had what, three players to play at least 30 minutes. um you know, we had seven players to play at least 20 minutes. So, I I think with the pace that the Bulls play, if you’re able to keep those minutes down, that’s going to help with that a lot, right? So, that’s what we saw from the team in this game, man. And and um the Bulls need to take this one uh learn look at what they did good in this game, find a way to do that consistently, and then also take a look at what didn’t work in this game for you and find a way to find a way to get that together, right? So, it’s it’s all about the es and flows. that that’s what it’s about. It’s about the es and flows and I think that the Bulls they found it more than they didn’t if that made sense. Like still some things that were definitely concerning and I’m not going to act like there weren’t. There were some things that were definitely concerning about this game for the Chicago Bulls, but I think that they’ll I think that they will get it together. Man, I there was a lot of signs of some stuff that can start working for this team and I and I like seeing that. Like coming into this game, I did not expect the Chicago Bulls to be able to play the way that they that they did in this game without Kobe, without Zack Collins. The physicality that they talked about in the offseason was very evident in this game. It was very evident. There was no doubt about it that they played more physical. They got after it more defensively in this game than what we saw at times last year. Um, and we just got to keep tighten it uh tighten things up. Like I said, take from what you did well in this game, learn from it, and then go back to it. Uh Logan says, “How do how did the second half go? Wasn’t able to watch it.” The second the So the third quarter was back and forth. We both scored both teams scored 30 points in in the third quarter. The fourth quarter is where the Bulls started pressing. We got a lot of foul calls. Some of those were ticky tacky. Uh we put them on the free throw line a lot. They outscored us by 11 in in the in the fourth quarter. So that’s how that one went. It was unfortunate, but I I I don’t know if that’s going to happen too many times. Hey says, “Next game, Billy Donovan needs to play Patrick Williams a lot more minutes, especially going up against Pablo.” He could. And and that could be why the Bulls kind of managed the minutes the way that they did today. Shay, good call out. Giovani says, “Y’all, where can I find the angry P will clip?” Uh, I don’t think that I posted it. I don’t know if it’s anywhere yet. Rob says it do look like he’s shooting mid-range at the three-point line. I don’t know who you’re talking about. What you’re talking about there. I think Colin is better than Jaylen, unfortunately. I felt like I uh in this game Jaylen was in his head, but I don’t know. I keep telling y’all Jaylen Smith is marginally good at times. The thing with Jaylen is that he he’s been known as a shooting big for so long that I would just want to see him stay in the paint. But he made some very big mistakes today did Jaylen Smith. Um both in foul calls and in in pass missing passes and things like that. This was not the best showing for Jaylen Smith. Um, so you know, but I but we’ve seen him play better, right? So, one game in, I’m not going to doom him or anything, but it was it is definitely concerning to see this type of game from Jaylen when we we we need him to be the backup point guard. We need him to be that. Denon Terry comes out there looking like a skinny child, talking about he’s an enforcer. Give me a break. I don’t know what you’re talking about. Uh, Dalon Terry played some really solid defensive minutes. He and he he guarded Paul, not Paul Reed, Isaiah Stewart on some who like Dalen Terry is tough. I don’t know if you actually watched every possession, but if you go back and watch the game just for Dalon Terry’s possessions, Dalon is a very tough player and he doesn’t back down from anyone. Now, toughness doesn’t make you a good basketball player, though, but toughness isn’t a problem for Dalen Terry. Was actually pretty satisfied with the with how Pill played in this game. I mean, yeah, I for for what the role is, right? For the people that still look at Pwell and they’re like four fourth overall pick, $18 million. Yeah, I don’t think he played at that level, but I think when you look at what his actual role is on this team, he was the eighth guy checking into the game, I I think he gave you some pretty solid minutes. Not not great minutes, but I think he gave you some pretty solid minutes. Holding on to the win by four will be more beneficial to this team than blowing them out by 23. Hey, I mean, it does teach them that they have to lock in a win. So, I I get where you’re coming from there. IO didn’t have his typical at the rim crazy efficiency, but overall he did solid. Yeah, I mean IO had a had a pretty solid game. He did take, you know, some threes that were I I won’t say that they weren’t in rhythm. Um, you know, and you know, that that’s going to happen sometimes for IO, but no, I think IO did better than than than bad uh tonight is what I’ll say. But I IO can be better than what he was. He can shoot more efficiently, those type of things. And I think he will be that. He shot 42% from the field today, six of 14. We know he can be better. He just needs to attack the rim. But I will say, you know, with Jaylen Duran and Isaiah Stewart out there, maybe that was part of their game plan to try to not get them that, but we’ll see. Billy rotation or lack thereof during that run was alarming. I agree with you. Billy overall coached a really good game during the Pistons run. Yeah, I agree with you, bro. He he he didn’t do a really good job at it in that. And let’s look I want to look at that run. Give me one second. Let’s look at that fourth quarter run. So, the Pistons went on a plus 15 run. So, they scored 30 points while we scored 15 on that run. And um who was in there? Let’s look at the lineups over that run. Detroit. So, the lineup over that run was Cunningham, Isaiah Stewart, Ron Highland, Assur Thompson, Jaylen Duran, and uh Cunning K. Cunningham scored 11 points, Isaiah scored five, Ron Holland scored five. Um, and the Bulls lineup during that run was Josh Giddy, Nicolus, Isaac Kuru, Modis Buzzelis, and Trey Jones. So, I would say to me, you probably needed to sub, make a couple of subs in that one. I would have put IO in in that stretch just for a little bit of more added uh defensive ability, but hey, what do I know? Bulls seem like a playoff team from first quarter to third quarter, but they got panicked in the fourth quarter. They’re still young and experience will come through this. It’s a long season though. Absolutely. Completely agree with you. Billy made a mistake rotating uh Terry in at a critical point. I can see where you’re coming from on that one. Holland tonight is what I’m hoping Terry will eventually become. Oh, I don’t know about that one. Uh the starting five until Kobe comes back should be giddy. Isaac Modest P will No, it shouldn’t. I’m sorry. No, it shouldn’t. We were too good with Trey out there. Too good with IO out there. No, that that’s not a good lineup at all. So, I I disagree personally. I think that we found our lineup because what it does, and you keep in mind having Trey out there with Josh Giddy because what the Pistons were trying to do early is that they were trying to use Assur Thompson on Josh Giddy, right? So that way it could disrupt your offense and Giddy can’t get into his playmaking bag. Having Trey Jones out there allowed you another facilitator and playmaker out there with Josh Giddy. So even when the Detroit Pistons defense try to keep the ball out of Josh Giddy’s hands, you add another point guard. Now that did put more that’s why partially you saw Voo have such a good start to the to the to the game is because when you do that and you have two ball handlers and while Trey Jones can score, he’s not a scorer. It puts more pressure on Modis and V to score which they did a lot of because Okoro is not going to score either, right? So I just think you have to look at it that way. It helps Josh Giddy get downhill as well when he’s not the ball handler. So, I don’t I don’t like the lineup that you put out. I’m not saying that we can’t play that lineup. I’m just saying I don’t like it as the starting lineup for the Bulls. If if that makes any sense. Maybe PE will needs to be picked more. I haven’t seen angry PW. I wonder what an angry P looks like. Well, we saw it a little bit today. Giddy modest and IO look solid. That’s what most important. The young building blocks on the team played good together. Oh, agree. You know what? Let’s I take a look at that. Let’s see. I don’t think they all play too many minutes. We’ll look at Giddy, Modis, and IO. Let’s take a look at it. Let’s take a look at that lineup. Modis, Giddy, IO, separated by that. So, it’s not good. So, with those three players on the court together, they played only four minutes together though. We were negative7, a net rating of negative 84. So, but a very small sample size. Uh, we didn’t see a lot of those guys out there together at the same time. I I what was what was it with IO and Modis? IO and Modis played 13 minutes together. Just them it was negative 22. So, you know, I mean, they all had positive impacts over the game. I want to see better balance between those guys if that makes sense. People look at uh at Duran like Petty Roosevelt, look at dumb comments. That’s that’s very accurate. That’s very accurate. Hayes, I’m not trying to be negative, but Billy Donovan has to make adjustments a lot more quicker because there’s no reason we should have uh a 20point lead and win only by five points. Well, you got to keep in mind like changing the lineup doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to change like a team that got that hot. So, I I can’t I can’t say that a that a lineup would have necessarily changed it. Of course, I will say you want to try something different. It clearly wasn’t working and I’m not going to be mad at it, but I’m just don’t know if it’s gonna it’s going to change it, right? Dalent Terry is a liability tonight, but but his mom could be an asset in my bedroom. That’s first of all, that’s wild. I should have proof read that before you said that. But that was crazy. That’s crazy. That was cra That was wild. That for you a wild boy, my boy. And that’s coming from me. You know, if I say you a wild boy, you you you wilding for real. Jaylen Smith makes Exonic uh Irvin Johnson look like Toronto Raptors. Chris Bosch. That’s crazy. Mus put up no threes and got 21 points. That’s wild. Did Mus not Modus definitely shot a three? Did Mis not shoot any? Oh, you mean didn’t make any? I was about to say he shot three of them. Um, I was about to say I know he I know he shot some. Wait, so is this a hot take? Are the Bears and Bulls going to both be good? Listen, it’s one game, Sydney. It’s one game. It’s one game. I’m not going to let myself get excited over one game. I’m just not going to do it. I’m not going to do it. We shall see what happens. Pistons were straight up hacking at times. This team went to Ward and Oh, you could tell that the Pistons did not expect the Bulls to have the physicality that they did. I think you can adamantly tell that. And the Bulls came up with phys came out with physicality right away. Right away. Hayes, how do you like the two-point guard starting got Josh Giddy and Trey Jones? Well, I kind of just explained that in my last little rant, so hopefully that answer that question for you, brother. Didn’t know Auroro was at plus seven. Listen, I’m telling y’all, like I get it. I understand that for most fans, they’re going to look at the box score and they’re going to try to look gauge value based off that. Isaac Aoro is not a box score player. You have to go you have to go and look at the advanced analytics to really see where Akuru impacted this game. And he and he basically the way that I word it is that Auroro did exactly what he needed to do. What his role is for this team. He did exactly what he needed to do. And keep in mind he did like he he started he played 22 minutes. Isa uh Iodumu and Kevin Hurderter play more minutes than Isaac Aoro. He’s in there to do his role. He’s a specialist and he did his role. Hayes, I know the Bulls want to play uptempo, but didn’t you think going to vouch in the paint early would be a better strategy in the long run? You can go in the paint and still be uptempo. It’s just how you go in the paint, right? Like when the Bulls like Voots was the leading scoreer today. Did we ever feel like the Bulls weren’t playing at the pace that they needed to play with? So, you know, I look at it and I say, I think it’s going to be fine. I think it’s going to be fine. I think the varying styles that you get into are going to be fine. Vu has adapted pretty well to um an uptempo offense. I hear you. Only reason I feel P will at the four so Modis won’t have to bang with the fours and have to get rebounds. Do you want Modis to do that? Like because P will definitely can’t bang with the fours and get rebounds. That’s been one of the knocks on P Will despite being bigger. He doesn’t bang and get rebounds. I want Modis to take on every challenge. Now is Modis maybe eventually going to be a three if Noah Essen works out? Yeah, maybe I think he has all the skills to do that. But at this point in time, I want Modis to go through those trials because he rebounded pretty well today. Six rebounds today. So, you know, when you have Voots getting 14 rebounds, Josh Giddy getting five rebounds, Isaac Auroro getting five, there’s only going to be so many rebounds out there to get. I I I the rebound percentage won’t be there um until after the game, but I’ll take a look at that on tomorrow’s daily. Great defense, great game from Vu and Modest. Vu surprised me. I’m kind of thinking Vu played terrible in the preseason on purpose. I I always said that there was a chance that he just didn’t care about preseason. Now, I was worried coming into this game if if we were going to get regular season Nicolus, so I’m not going to act like I just came into this game like, “Oh my god, Vucc is going to get right back to being Vu.” But I think when you see veterans kind of take off preseason a little bit, it kind of makes some sense. Was a glue guy type play. He is the Keith Bo Bogens for this team. He’s better than Keith Bogens, but I just mean that’s his role. He’s out there to do the dirty work, to be the tough guy, to play some defense, take some open shots, and let that be what it’s going to be. Hayes, if you like both Giddy and Trey starting, uh, who do you want as the backup, uh, point guard until Kobe comes back? I mean, they’re just going to do what they did today. It’s by committee. If you noticed, Trey Jones came out of the game first, right? And so, they’re staggering. So, even though Trey Jones started, he was the one of the first players to come out come out of the game and then by time Josh Giddy set, Trey Jones came back in. So, Billy Donovan had a plan for the rotations today. It fell apart in the fourth quarter. So, you know, you can do a combination of it. So, it’s not as straightforward as like lineups aren’t like in 2K where it’s like you have your starters and you have your backup one, your backup two, your back. That’s not how the NBA works anymore. You can stagger, you can do some things. It’s special when you do that. So, I don’t know if some covered this, but plus 17 when a curl was playing, man, is huge impact. Uh player beyond the box score. Yeah. And it wasn’t just a plus minus. We had a positive net rating of like plus 60 when he was on the court. So I Aoro did his role. He did absolutely what he’s what he’s meant to do for this team. So glad season is back. Missed this uh community. Hey, listen. We still be here during the offseason, bro. You ain’t got to go completely MIA. I don’t disappear completely during the offseason. When do you see Billy utilizing the double big lineup? I don’t think you utilize a double big lineup until Zack Collins comes back. personally. Now, I could be wrong on that, but I I don’t think we see a lot of until Zack Collins comes back. So, that that’ll be my guess there. I don’t know if you paid attention, but Cunningham had a bad shooting. Yes, Cunningham shot the ball like today. And part of that was the defense of Isaac Aoro. Part of it. I’m not saying all of it. I did some good minutes on him, too. Um, but yeah, part of that it’s great that we have Trey and Josh who can throw lobs. They really compliment Busilla. Well, I can’t wait to see Noah catching those lobs in the future. Hey, I feel you on that. Feel you. Did he not watch any of the summer content? You know, I I what I’ve noticed, and this isn’t a knock on anybody, a lot of people don’t watch a lot of basketball content after the season ends. Like, you have your dieards, but some people just don’t. After the season ends, that’s it for them. They may pop in as like breaking news episodes when the Bulls sign somebody and stuff, but a lot of people go away when the summer pops up. Would love Giddy to have a center like Jaylen Duran. Those lobs Kade was throwing up for him was nice. Exactly. I agree with that. Eddie Alvarado says, “First one of the season uh may more uh come see red.” Hopefully hopefully we’re going to be talking about a lot more wins this season. Uh do you think do you think can be a hidden X factor for this team? Who do you think can be hit in X-Factor for this team? I think Zack Collins because he’s a better suited for it up and tippo style. I mean, there’s a lot of people. IO could be that. Zack Collins can be that. Kevin Herder can be that. I think you could do it by committee, right? I I think there’s going to be you’re going to see that where maybe a couple of games it’s IO. Maybe a couple of games it’s Trey. Maybe first stretch is Zack Collins. I don’t know if it’s going to be just one guy this season. I don’t know if you want it to be per se either. Button Ramis says, “The eb and flows of NBA are always going to mean the team can go hot and and close a gap, but we in the hole look sharp. Balance and depth are so important. C Red, I feel you completely. I I completely agree with you on that one. I agree, Hayes. Jaylen Smith plays soft ability to utilize double big lineup.” Yeah, I I just I I was and I was high when we signed. I was high on the signing of Jaylen Smith. Um, but it just like I said, he has some games where he looks really good. And I’m not going to act like it’s always terrible for Jaylen. He has some games when he looks really good, but other than that, I don’t know. I live and breathe Bulls 365 days a year. I watch all the content. Appreciate that. Appreciate that. Hey, you never answer my question. Who do you think is the Bulls MVP this year? I listen, Gino. I’m And I don’t mean this to sound uh derogatory. I don’t care. Like, that’s not something I care about. I care about this team getting wins. I care about players stepping up when it’s needed the most. I don’t care who’s the MVP. I care about if we’re if if this team is playing together as a team and we’re getting wins in doing so. Let let the team be the MVP. Let the wins that we get be the MVP. I don’t care about all that other stuff, man. Uh what’s up, Brody? Exciting game. Glad to see us pull out a win without uh Kobe and Zack. Big big glad we were able to as well, brother. They almost sold and I was about to crash out. Bro, I can’t even blame you. If like if the Bulls would have lost this game, I don’t know how this live stream would have went. I I I really don’t know only because and that’s not to say that the Bulls still didn’t play tough. It’s not to say anything like that, but I would have been extremely frustrated had the Bulls lost this game. Really, really frustrated. Jes, how much were you wishing Javvante Green was still on this team when you saw him? Uh, listen, I wish Jvonte Green the best. Make no mistake about it. But I’m I wasn’t sitting on like, oh my god, I wish he was. We got We got players that we’re trying to develop. Javvantee is great. And as a role player and an energy guy, he’s probably going to have a job in this league for a long time. But it it is it is what it is when it comes down to that. So, but all right y’all, I got to get ready to wrap it up. I got to go do Locked on Bulls coming up next. Man, I want to thank you guys, bro. Like, this was a great fun game. THE VOICE OF THE FANS!

  1. Standout performance from Vooch, letting everybody know he can still hoop at a high level.
We gotta learn how to put teams away. No excuse to be giving away a 23-point lead.

  2. 2nd half of last season bulls were at the top for second half finishes. Coby got most of his points in the second half and went off in fourth quarters frequently. The whole preseason bulls were criticised for slow starts and they responded great. It's good that they didn't blow this game and we're still able to fight to the end and cope with the strong finish from Detroit. As the season goes they need to win these games and they did.

  3. You made an excellent point about why Tre Jones should be in the starting line-up, or why he should've been in today.

Donovan foresaw how Detroit, and most likely others, might try to defend Giddey, and I believe that is exactly why Jones helps in the starting line-up.

  4. Man I'm convinced that the Bulls need to start building around Matas. He could be the superstar that the Bulls need and maybe Matas can attract free agents

  5. Glad they got da Dub but Iono I just dont like HOW they won, the game should have never been that close at the end! Had they played a slightly better team they probably would have ended up losing this game after being up like that and giving up the lead.

  6. Issac cool on defense but him not being able to score damn near at all gon hurt the team more than it helps as the season goes on if he dnt pick it up! We cant have a mfkr dat only attempt two shots a game especially wit Coby being out

  7. The reason we won — and people aren't going to want to hear this — is probably because Kobe White didn't play. Look at Trey Jones' box score: 12 points. I don't even see the rest, but I'm going to guess he didn't take 25 shots, okay? It was team basketball. Team basketball.

All we need from Kobe is a consistent 15 points a night on efficient shooting, while not being a traffic cone. If he can do that, we can win games. What we can’t have is him showing up and going 18 for 20 one night and then 2 for 20 for the next four games. That’s why we were losing last season, and the seasons before that with him on the team.

Meanwhile everyone is focused on p will. Sure, pat can do better and be better. But we largely arent losing bc of him.

  8. Patrick Williams mentality changed today compared to Last year he felt like more of an emotional player I like that out of him he looks like he cares more than last year.
