Huge appreciation to these two. They finally embraced their role and are thriving.

Man, Keldon is bullying the paint like Barkley and Vassell looks like he's getting his groove back as a defender.

Happy for both of them. They are going to do great this season.
Has to be taken with the acknowledgment that Dallas’s back Court is a certifiable mess right now…. But that was maybe the best defensive game I’ve seen from Devin in 2 or 3 years. Blowing up passing Lanes. Fighting over screens. He looked so engaged.
I think he’s going to absolutely thrive in a more minimal offensive role this year where he’s kind of looked to as a guy whose job is to hit open threes, be a release valve for a contested jumper when the offense really falls apart, and then just bust his butt on defense.
Between preseason and this game it feels like I haven’t seen Johnson miss a freaking shot in the paint. Dude is just dropping his shoulder into everyone and I love to see it
They’ve experienced a lot of losing and have been professional all throughout those painful seasons. It’s time they are rewarded.
For real about KJ. Can’t be easy to come off the bench while used to be the go to guy while still young on the same team
Keldon and Luke Kornet are going to be problems for opposing benches on the glass. Also Devin if he can keep channeling that defense we will be a hard to team to beat
Not to be a downer but Devin is having the same issues. Only looks better cuz he’s not our 2nd best player anymore. KJ tho has been playing amazing since preseason.
Keldon used all his juice on rebounding, defense, and hustle. He looked really good on the last few games of pre season and this game. Hopes he maintains this intesity.
I’d rather be a solid bench player who drops thirty once or twice a year when needed and be a contender and have my legacy be that of a winner on a winning team then someone who is known for being a good player on a dog shit team but I got to start my whole career scoring 20 a game never experiencing the playoffs
They finally are being asked to play a role they’re suited for*
Yeah both were good but Devin was amazing in passing lanes and team defense. Made some buckets too
Really hope Vassell keeps up his performance from last night. Contributed very well. Love to see Keldon as a bullying spark off of the bench.
Never seen KJ more productive – and he’s SHINING! Gets to where he needs to be and gets to work and EATS. Let’s go Big Body 💪
Sochan joining them this season in game 3-4 (kinda like he did early on last season). I believe, and I’m so pumped for these two.
They were great last night. Both have stayed through the rough years and remained professional to this day. Keldon gave us the energy we needed off the bench. Vassell made his presence known by his defense and shooting.
They deserve recognition not only for their performance, but for how much they embody the Spurs culture and team spirit.
It’s not easy for young guys who can average 20 ppg to be told to come off the bench, especially when it wasn’t all that long ago they were seen as the starters. Keldon especially gracefully accepted the downsizing of his role, and remains the heart of the team all the same.
Way back in The Bubble Keldon had a 20/20 game and ever since then I’ve been wanting him to make crashing the boards a core part of his game. He did that last night and I was so proud of him.
That’s number 3 to you.
We originally drafted vassell to be this, some good 3 and d with room for growth. He keeps this up and it’s going to be hard to complain about his game.
Right about now, I really miss Drew Eubanks and his GOAT level bench reactions. I have a feeling that we are going to need someone to step up up this season and emerge as the elite ‘bench reaction guy’ because Shaolin Wemby is out there doing absurd things every other play.
Who’s getting traded first?
I was really impressed with Vassell. Hoping he can hit the ceiling he’s had along the way, because he’s got the ability to be much better than we’ve seen and especially in a secondary role
Noticed that too, especially Vassel on the defensive end.
I just don’t know how everybody is going to get adequate minutes. This team is going to be deep as hell and really good
