“It’s never easy. This league is so challenging.” | Bobrovsky Postgame Reaction 10.18.25

Yeah, it was a was a good game, you know, was good uh NHL game. We uh we’re going to see the best from the teams, you know, from the opponent teams and uh yeah, that’s the situation. It’s not going our way, you know, it’s not easy, but uh that’s where we at, you know, we uh we have to re reset, refocus, stay together, and u yeah, keep chipping in. You mentioned getting the best from the opposition every night instead of defending Stanley Cup champs. What are you sensing from other teams? Yeah, the energy. I think the the effort they are they are on their toes you know and uh they just like uh I don’t know focused they they they play a good game you know the team they play defensively well they play offensively well so they are a skilled team and it was a good hockey game. You guys expected adversity at the start of the season just with the the guys you’re missing. What can your team maybe learn from these losses to to take moving forward? Yeah, you know as I said it’s not going to be easy. uh we just have to stay together, you know, stay together and that’s that’s the situation we are in and we we’re going to fight and we’re going to compete and we’re going to learn how to get the points in the in this in this group. So, it’s it’s I I think it’s good for us. So, it is what it is. It’s it’s a challenge for us early on and uh we’re going to face it. The Bruins always seem to bring out the best in you guys. You think that game’s coming at a good time in this trip? Yeah. Yeah. Uh it’s it’s going to be another good challenge for us. It’s going to be a good good hockey game. So, and we are uh put this one behind us and get ready for the next game. You go without Demetri, you lose Nico uh in this one. What’s it like for you to have to work being down defenseman in this lineup? Yeah. Yeah, they are uh you know, we’re missing the the big big guys, but on the other hand, the some other guys have the opportunity to step up, you know, and uh made their way uh in in the team in in the league. So it’s uh it’s good opportunity for them and uh the structure is there where uh we have a great uh great guys, great group of guys and it’s it’s all in our hands. Again, we’re just going to reset, refocus and uh get ready for the next game. Do the experiences over the last few years here allow you to weather losing streaks like this easier? I don’t know. It’s it’s never easy. You know, this league is so hard. It’s so challenging. every team, every uh every uh organization, they have like good players. you know, the challenge is so high and it’s uh we didn’t expect we’re going to win all 82 games. you know there there you’re going to face some challenges and uh you just have to weather them, stay composed, stay together and uh yeah and uh keep uh keep doing our things, keep play with our structure.

Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky speaks with media following the team’s loss in Buffalo against the Sabres on 10.18.25.

  1. Hey, remember when you guys won a stanley cup last year and the year before? I don't know, maybe a team who won 2 cups in a row, shouldn't drop 4 in a row to start the season?

  2. Don't be fooled by a loss, this guy is Next Level goalie, the team got outplayed, a goalie can only do so much, but by playoff time he'll have his long hair and be a nightmare to play against. He gets a buzz cut to stat the season and he won't cut his hair until the very end of the hockey season, in his case maybe with a threepeat.
