Travis Hunter & Trevor Lawrence on Performance vs. Rams | Jacksonville Jaguars

Uh, I just told coach to give me the ball. I’ll go out there, make a play, and he got me the ball and I just did what I had to do. for the team. Uh, give it to my son. How important was it to you? I know you want the team obviously, but how important was it to you just to see yourself being able to make plays more than just, you know, a few things, I ain’t wor about the stats. Uh, we got to do better on the football field. We got to come out and we just got to win. That’s what I’m most most focused on, just doing my job and having the other guys do their job and we come out on top. What do you feel like the challenges were today? Why the connections weren’t necessarily there consistently? Uh, we just a lot of self-inflicted wounds, you know, some a lot of us, you know, we wasn’t we didn’t do how coach taught it and it it came back to bite us. We wasn’t fully locked in and we just got to do better on that point on that part. frustration with everybody in that locker room. Uh we frustrated, you know, we we we got to do better. We all know that we got to do better. We just frustrated with ourselves because we know we’re better than that. really nice. How do you feel about I’m just going along with what coach got. You know, they work up a plan for me and I just go out there and do exactly what they ask me to do. You know, I don’t ask questions. I just do what they tell me. How hard was it to get in rhythm offensively today? Uh yeah, you could tell, you know, we had a lot of self-inflicted wounds. We just got to do better. That’s it really. Just quickly, your first time. Yeah. London, how you feeling about that? I’m ready to get back home to my family. experience. Nope. I didn’t go nowhere. I stayed in the hotel room every day. Nope. I didn’t have my family here. Obviously what you guys wanted to sort of build a little bit uh it’s very it’s very like very special you know be able to come around the guys I never been around. So just having them around you know I don’t go nowhere. So when it was time to practice that was my most excited time of the day because I was around the guys you know. But yeah we just got to continue to trust each other. Uh, I won’t say it’s easy. It It comes with football. We just got to do better. You know, the most disciplined team wins and they just out disciplined us today. How do you feel like you guys have done aspecially when things like this I feel like we just we just got to be better. We got to be focused, locked in more. Uh we we do our best to, you know, keep everyone we got to be professional. So, we do our best to make sure everyone has been a professional. Yeah. I mean, there’s uh I’m going have to watch it and really see exactly what happened in every, you know, drive and and play. But, you know, I just think uh we got to start the games faster. You know, I know just from you can only speak on my perspective. You know, just freshly off the game. There’s some plays that I got to make early to get us going and and it’s routine stuff. You know, sometimes is, you know, I had Travis on the first play of the game open and uh just got to put it on them and move on and keep us in good situation instead of behind the chain. So, that’s one that really pops in my brain. And I think besides that, I have to watch the tape and really see what happened cuz it did feel like, you know, even some of those drives, like once we did start going, obviously we weren’t able to finish the drives. But, you know, there were some things that we did out there that were moving the ball, but just getting no points out of the drives, which is almost worse cuz then you’re using the clock. And so, we got to just find ways to finish the drives just to be consistent, make those plays on third and fourth down when they come up. And, uh, we’re going to learn a lot from this tape and just get better from it. What’s the challenge of sort of getting those self mistakes. How do you sort of get over that? I think it’s everyone just focusing on their job. Um me, you know, the line, tight ends, receivers, running backs, whoever it is, it’s just every play, focus on your job. You know, rely on the guy next to you to do their job and good things will happen for us. So, as long as the accountability is always inward and looking at yourself and not trying to shift blame to anyone else, there’s no room for that. And you know, we haven’t done any of that. just as long as that’s the mindset, we’re going to be we’re going to be fine. We’re going to get better. We got to get better. Obviously, we haven’t played our best football offensively the last couple weeks. So, there’s a lot of stuff that we need to clean up, but everyone just has to take that approach of what can you fix and, you know, be better for your teammates. That’s the mindset of, you know, always doing the right thing because the guys are counting on you next to you. I know. Just throughout the game, the fourth downs we went for. Yeah. Mhm. Yeah. Yeah, I think you know we fourth and I think the first one was fourth and six you know down there in the red zone and um we were down 21 like you said into the first half and we felt like we needed to score a touchdown to to you know I don’t want to say to stay in it but you know we we need to score points and at that point being down three scores you want to score touchdowns over field goals. So um and felt like we had a decent call and give us a shot to get the first down potentially. So that was the thought there. But then in the second half, obviously when you’re down multiple scores third, late third quarter, early fourth quarter, you kind of got to just go for those and stay on the field and give yourself a chance. Let’s go to the middle. So big game obviously part of the game first. Yeah, you know, Travis did some great things today. I mean, you see, everybody sees how special he is when you give him opportunities and um I felt like I was able to find him a little bit more today than in the past. And um and even still there, I think there’s so much that we can learn from and grow from and like our chemistry and seeing the game the same. I think it’s getting there and I think that’s why you see in the second half some improvements and um us connecting more, but there’s still a lot of meat on the bone for us to take advantage of honestly. So, I’m excited for that and we just got to continue to get better. you know, obviously that was good to see him, you know, more involved and to make those plays and just continues to make plays and shows up when he needs to. So, that’s that’s great. You know, it’s good not for me as a quarterback just obviously to keep in back of my mind that he just makes plays, you know, whenever the ball comes to him. But, um, a lot of things that we still can clean up, but I thought he did some some great things today. Uh, it’s a not necessarily, you know, it’s he’s kind of an alert there. If you get a if you get a match up, you get a look. You know, they were playing a cover three version and could have thrown the out the quick out to Parker. Um, but the corner tied down and I felt like we had a match up there with the safety and Travis did a good job fighting through. They were holding them. That’s why we got the flag and but fought through the contact still made the play on the ball and uh yeah, did you know did some good stuff for sure. Did he say anything? No, I mean not not the you know awesome like first NFL touchdown. I hate that those were the circumstances cuz I just wish it was better. Like we were winning and it was a different scenario for his first NFL touchdown. So he wasn’t even celebrating. He’s just competitive he is. Obviously he wants to be winning the game and he just ran back to the sideline and didn’t act didn’t make a big deal out of it. But yeah, I wish it was definitely wish it was different circumstances. Did you feel did you The Rams did something differently maybe than what you guys expected this game. Not really. I mean, this is a good defense, you know, as far as their their group up front. Um, they can wreak some havoc. They do a good job. I mean, that’s where this the defense is built around that. And then in the back end, they do a lot of different things coverage-wise. They disguise well. Um, I, you know, I really thought we had a good plan coming in. Just didn’t execute good enough. Um, left some stuff out there. I’m sure there’s be some things that we look at and you know moving forward that we’ll learn from. So it’s yeah I mean we just got beat today. Didn’t play good enough. No, I don’t think so. I mean, it’s just we just haven’t played well. Um, I think you look at how slow we’ve started the last couple weeks and even you could put Kansas City in there, too. That that game we started off slow from things that we can control. You know, it’s not like we didn’t have a good plan or anything like that. It’s just some self-inflicted wounds. So, if we can clean that up and just stay on schedule, you know, uh, we got to make those corrections and do it. But, that’s I think that’s where you’re seeing the slow starts, then we’re getting behind. Um, and then against a good team like LA, you know, it’s you get down 14 points right away because you you start slow and have some three and outs, then you gota it’s tough sledding from there. So, we got to find a way to get back to starting the game faster on schedule and just play ball. Thanks. Thank you’all. Appreciate.

  1. I dont care to hear about the what Trevor has been through with different coach's and different coordinators. Daniel Jones was with the Giants and came to the Colts and a new system and is blowing the doors off. It just that Trevor is giving Bust vibes . He doesn't know how to read defenses. He over throws a screen pass. Insane…😢😢😢😢

  2. Trevor Lawrence is unfortunately not a guy we can count on week in and week out. He’s too inaccurate, it’s so frustrating. We talk about the drops, but the WRs have to jump, stretch, and turn for every pass, that’s not how it’s suppose to be.

  3. Its not just Trevor bra it's the offensive as a whole first thing first Travis hunter don't need to play defense unless they somebody is tired or injured foreal he need to be on offensive point blank period

  4. They don’t trust each other. Receivers don’t trust him. And he don’t trust them. When they run good routes he misses them. When he throws good balls, they run wrong routes or drop passes. It’s not even lack of execution anymore. That’s why we were trying to fix. Now it’s cause the trust issues in the whole offense. And it’s rubbing off on the defense

  5. Can’t defend it no more man he misses wide open players throws a hard catchable ball and obviously not on the same page with the wideouts who is that on ? And it’s time to play Travis hunter to play both ways full time

  6. Sunshine is the PRINCE THAT WAS PROMISED!! it's not his fault his WR1 and others can't catch a cold, I mean damn, the last 4 games are the NFL elite that's a tough stretch for any team, RELAX…. Let's clean it up and GET AFTER IT!! DTWD!! 🐆

  7. I want to see Trevor have some freaking tenacity. If a WR drops a pass, I need to see Trevor grab a face mask and hold them accountable. Blown blocking assignment that sacks him he needs to be in the O-Lines face and start acting like a LEADER. His cool & calm demeanor is NOT getting him anywhere. I need to see some fire from this guy. He’s so close to being gone and being a career backup. Why can’t he play like he lives & dies on the field? Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees lived and died on that field and then there’s Trevor Lawrence. Picking his nose on National Television. Like come on man! Play like your career is on the line because guess what…. IT IS. It’s hard to root for your success when you don’t even act like you care about football.

  8. Majority of the people are blaming Trevor, but be realistic. The plays might be alright if they had the right players to make the plays . Get rid of those penalty players. You know exactly who they are. Look at the video and correct the mistakes . Do what you need to do to win .. not what you want to do to win. Put God first and stay safe. 🙏♥️🏈🤛🤛
