Indianapolis Colts – Buyers at trade deadline? Titans injury report – good news! Pacers tomorrow!

All right, we got a lot to talk about. The Indianapolis Colts. All right, the the Colts. Are they going to be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline? They’re going to stand pad. I think they’re going to stand pad. I doubt they’re going to be buyers. I know they’re not going to be sellers. You don’t sell when you’re six and one. The trade deadline is November 4th. It’s almost always much into about nothing. Rarely big moves made at the deadline. The NBA little bit different. that trade deadline that’s got action. This one does not. The one trade that Chris Ballard has made during his eight seasons as the Indianapolis Colts general manager, he traded Nahhem Hines by Nahhem Hines request for Zack Moss, who is kind of a Naem Hines type back. A nothing deal. He doesn’t do this. They made the playoffs twice. He didn’t do it. He’s had a couple of teams that were on track to make the playoffs. He didn’t do it. I don’t think he’s going to do it this year unless Carly Ursay says, “Hey, you know what? Do something.” There are a lot of guys who would look really good in a Colts uniform who could come here if the Colts would be willing to meet the price of the current teams, right? Uh the Raiders are going to want more for Max Crosby than the Colts are going to be willing to part with. That’s for sure. There aren’t going to be deal. I I don’t think there are going to be any deals. I think people are going to be disappointed. And that you’re disappointed in a team that’s going to be seven and one in just 4 days. I think it’s kind of crazy. I’m not disappointed. We’re going to talk about Daniel Jones. Why is he not going to sign an extension? I’ll tell you why he’s not going to sign an extension. It’s math. All right? And it’s about his income level moving forward. Uh we’re going to talk about the upgrades that are going to come to the Indianapolis Colts because guys heal. You don’t need to make trades if guys are going to heal and guys are going to be healthy. We’re going to talk also we’re going to talk about the Indiana Pacers a little bit. Would they have won the title if Hallebertton had stayed healthy? Yeah, they would have because it would have come down to the last five minutes. And in the last five minutes, the Colts won ball games during that playoff run. And it was really, really fun to watch, wasn’t it? And game seven would have been magical. Sadly, that Achilles tendon, it just couldn’t make it. Couldn’t make it through the game. We’re going to talk about Daniel Jones a as maybe the architect right now. Not the architect, but the the most functional widget, the lever, the lever of excellence for this uh Colts offense. We will do that. and we’re going to talk about IU and the Colts. Then uh India well prior to that Indiana going to the college football playoff. Now Indiana’s undefeated ranked number two in the country. The Colts are ranked number one in the NFL with a 6-1 record. This these are h heady times and we don’t know what Indiana pass basketball is going to be. We do understand that Purdue’s basketball program is ranked number one, but we don’t care because that’s Purdue. That’s the way it goes. And Matt Painter, I think, is awesome. I love Matt Painter. Great guy. I don’t I separate the two. Purdue and Matt Painter. I just do. Jean Katy. That’s Purdue, right? Love Jean Katy, too. Maybe we got to separate Jean Katie. I’m going to figure out the math of this is quite complex. It’s calculus. It’s not basic math. It’s not like Katie plus painter equals I don’t like Purdue. It’s like multiplying a negative with a negative and coming up with a positive or a positive and a positive and coming up with a negative. But that’s not the way that works. We aren’t going to talk anymore about math. And then we are going to uh I we know what the Pacers would have done. Don’t we? I think that we do. First, I want to talk about Daniel Jones. Daniel, then we’ll get to the injury report and and whether they’re going to be buyers, but Daniel Jones is not going to sign an extension in season. When you sign an extension in season, none of the money can be applied to the cap space for the current year. That means no signing bonus because that would be prrated into this year. Daniel Jones is going to want some upfront money and he’s right to want that upfront money. So, it’s going to take time and that extension is not going to come now, but can you even imagine? I know it’s only been seven games. But, can you imagine Daniel Jones not being the long-term answer at quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts? After three or four games, I was like, h, you know what? We’ll see what Daniel Jones does by the end of the season. But I got to tell you the truth, the way he has completely sliced and diced opposing defenses from the Chargers to the Titans to the uh Dolphins to the all the teams that they’ve played. It’s been unbelievable, right? Can you see a a future where you would not want what Daniel Jones brings to this party a as a part of the Indianapolis Colts? I can’t see that happening. I think he’s happy here because people don’t bother you here. This is a great place to be famous. Nobody bugs you. Nobody bugged Adam Venitary. Nobody bugged Paint Manning. I saw it with my own eyes. Him sit at a Mallister. And the only person who bugged him was Chris Hagen from Fox 59. Asked him a trivia question. Do you know where the first Mallisters opened and and Payton goes Oxford, Mississippi? Ding, ding, ding. Only Pton Manning would know such things. Uh, but Daniel Jones is not going to sign an extension to stay with the Indianapolis Colts during the season. It’s going to come after. And don’t worry about it. It’ll happen. All right. For right now, he is a bargain. They’re going to have to figure out the math. They’re going to have to say goodbye to a couple of guys, and that’s going to be the way it is. Uh, will the Colts be buyers or are they going to stand pat at the day at the trade deadline? I got to tell you the truth. I November 4th can’t come quick enough because we’ll get to stop talking about all of this because it’s moot. Chris Ballard is not going to make a deal unless Carly Ers Gordon walks into his office and says make a deal. Then Chris Ballard will do it because he’s not going to overpay. Here’s the thing. The Athletic, this is kind of interesting to me. They had all the beat writers at the athletic, all the NFL beat riders say whether the uh team that they cover will be a buyer, seller, or Stan Pack. 14 teams, buyers, six sellers. What does that mean? You didn’t have to go to Indiana University and study economics in order to understand when buyers outnumber sellers, that drives the price skyward. Chris Ballard doesn’t pay skyward prices. That is not what he does. It is not what he will do. He will not mortgage the future for the present. He’s never done it in the past. He’s not going to do it now. Colts stay healthy. They got a hell of a chance to be a really good football team in the month of January and maybe February. going to be nice to find that out, but they’re not going to make a deal for Hendrickson or Crosby or anybody like that or Chub or uh hell, anybody you can think of. They’re just not going to do it because they’re not going to overpay. The Colts can get better through the healing of their uh injured players. That would be most importantly uh Mooney Ward, but it’s also uh Jaylen Jones. Jaylen Jones went practicing today. Jaylen Jones comes back. That Colts secondary gets a little bit better. With Ward back, it would get a lot better, but he went on IR last week. And so last week counts, this week counts, and then two more weeks. All right? And that means that after the by-week, he’s going to have an opportunity to come back. That’s when they’re going to need him. Uh that’s going to be key. The Titans coming in with the second worst record in the NFC or in the NFL. Colts hammer them to finish the first half seven to one. That’s what’s going to happen. We’ll talk about more about that as the week goes on. Nine Titans did not practice because of injuries today, including Legerius Sneed, Jeffrey Simmons, and Calvin Ridley. That is some sweet music to my ears. No Jeffrey Simmons would be really, really, really good for the for the O line of the Colts and for Daniel Jones. Uh, Dulan Goodson both back full today. Ibiccom Moore and Lewis did not practice, but we’re assuming that Kenny’s going to be able to go because Kenny went last week and I don’t think he aggravated things. He’s kind of walking around funny for a minute, but he stayed in the game. We’ll see. We’ll see how that goes. But it’s worse news for the Titans than it is for the Colts. We always say, “How come we’re the team with the injury report with all the names on it?” This week we’re not. It’s nice. Titans are the Colts 14 and a half points. They’re favored by against the Titans. IU is favored over a Big 10 opponent by 25 and a half points. That is an aggregate minus 4. That is the highest aggregate number for any regular season game in the NFL in in Indianapolis. and combined with a an Indiana University favorite number while uh playing a Big 10 opponent. Never. I didn’t look to some. There’s just no way it’s ever happened. Like the Colts and the Hooers plusing uh up their uh their favorite numbers to 40. I guarant Colts moved to Indianapolis. That’s for damn sure because Indiana University football has not been favored by that kind of a number in in my memory against a Big 10 team. While at the same time, the Indianapolis Colts were favored by more than two touchdowns in their game against a division opponent. Never happened. You can look it up. Prove me wrong. I dare you. Uh Pacers open tomorrow night. Uh I’m looking forward to seeing the game. I like Adrien Nehard. I like Aaron Nesmith. I like Pascal Seakum. Obi- Toppen. Fine. I want to see James Wiseman play a little bit. I want to see Isaiah Jackson back to full health. I think that’s going to be really good. Let’s rest JT on Sunday. Nigh nigh Patrick. And well, you should. One thing that people are talking about a lot is what games. Usually, we’re talking about what games, what prime time games the Colts will be flexed out of. Now, we’re talking about what prime time games the Colts will be flexed into. That game at Kansas City, there is no way that that game is going to be played on a Sunday afternoon. No chance. That will be a prime time game and in all likelihood a Monday Night Football game because a Monday Night Football game is like the Panthers and somebody. There’s no way they stick with that. No chance. They’ll uh they’ll have the Chiefs host the Colts on Monday Night Football. I will bet you uh dollars to donuts. And Caitlyn Clark, what’s she going to wear? Is she going to wear Chief’s gear in the Taylor Swift suite or whoever? Is it Kelsey suite? Is it Taylor suite? I don’t know and I don’t care. Or is Caitlyn going to have the tmerity, the civic pride in her adopted hometown to wear a Colts jersey or some measure of Colts gear? I can’t believe she’s going to do that. I don’t think she’ll wear anything that is committal toward either franchise. She’s pretty sharp with those things. I don’t think she’s going to wear a Chief’s frock to a game involving the Colts. Maybe she won’t go, but I think she’ll go. And I think she’ll wear something. She’ll wear something green or she’ll wear something I mean, pink could do that. I’m guessing. All right. uh and the P if I’m telling you this would have happened in game seven they would have gone into the last five minutes of that game close maybe down eight they would have come back Gary Moore a member an all meal deal member for two months that’s awesome every news source I have at my disposal says the Colts are the team to watch before the trade deadline you can watch them but they ain’t going to do nothing it it it’s nope it’s you can go out. You got a 57 Chevy without an engine in it. You can go out and watch it, but that ain’t going to make it run. Colts are not going to do squat. National media never knows what the Colts are going to do. Colts are an oddball organization. All those people in New York, they’re used to watching the Giants and the Jets do stuff, right? LA, the Rams, the Chargers do stuff. Raiders tend to do stuff at the deadline sometimes. Cowboys might do stuff. They’re trying to win a news cycle. Chris Ballard is not. Chris Ballard’s made one deal in eight years. And it hadn’t all been like terrible teams. The only terrible teams of the Ballard era were in 17 and 22. Other than that, at the trade deadline, every single one of his teams had a shot to go to the playoffs, and he sat on his hands and didn’t do a thing. Hm. Can you get a glance at the dish? Yeah, I suppose. I mean, it’s not uh not real clean there. Can you see it? There it is. Pretty much empty. Uh our uh our staff got a phone call in the middle of uh of our talk here. So, um, but with five minutes left, Pacers down eight, they get a three by Turner and then Turner is pulled from the game because he can’t defend anybody. So, he’s sitting. Obi Toppin hits a three. Pacers, they get a stop with 12 seconds left. They’ve got the ball side out of bounds. Carile smart enough to keep a timeout in his hip pocket. They run some action to get Tyler or Tyrese Hallebert in the ball. Tyrese drives, pulls back, hits a three. Good. Pacers win the title. That’s exactly what would have happened. Would And it kept happening again and again and again throughout the playoffs. And that is why I believe it would have happened this time because my god, that is all that guy did. So there you go. That is what would have happened. Nomadic Brian says Ballard has only one side of the ball to address and that is uh the biggest need. If you can’t figure out what you need, that is not good. But what they need they already got and that guy’s going to be back hopefully. Don’t knock his head. Uh after the by-week and that’s when they need him. So he’s going to be fine hopefully. uh Moody Ward. Other than that, like, yeah, you need an edge, but where are you going to get a good edge? What team’s going to, you know, you’re going to get Garrett from the Browns? You’re going to have to trade like three ones. He ain’t going to do that. Ballard’s never going to do that. It doesn’t make sense. Knowing Chris Ballard, knowing his track record, knowing the needs of this team and the men who could fill those needs leads you to the inevitable conclusion that it is not going to happen again with a caveat that if Carly Gordon says make it happen, Ballard will make it happen. But I don’t think she’s going to do that. I’d be really surprised if that happened. Uh fireman Jeff says Indiana is a she I mean Indiana rules. You are exactly right.
