Ref for Browns vs Patriots – Alex Moore, Alex Moore’s crew leads the NFL throwing an average 21.9 flags per game. They’re second in declined flags per game, at 4.

  1. How is this acceptable by the league? Even commentators are taking shots at the amount of flags in games, it’s getting ridiculous

  2. I have become increasingly annoyed at the officiating more this year than previous years. Did we ever get an official explanation for why the Goff touchdown was called back? Why are some of the pass interference flags thrown so late after the play? Why is there so many soft pass interference calls? Why is the NFL moving away from WR and CBs checking in with the line judges to see if they are lined up correctly? I would prefer to see less flags than more.

  3. I hate the way this is being represented in media. Amount of calls is a borderline useless stat.

How many of the calls were correct?

How many blatant calls were missed?

How good are they at letting borderline stuff that didnt end up really affecting the play go?

A crew could throw 35 flags in a game, if the teams deserved 33 of them then its foolish to cry about.

A crew could throw 11 flags in a game, if 10 of them were bullshit, they had a horrid day.

  4. Nevermind bad calls, it just sucks watching football with that many flags. Makes the product garbage.

  5. Wild how we are getting the same crew a 2nd time in 7 weeks when there are 17 crews. Almost like nfl made a conscious decision to put this crew on this game knowing they are flag happy.

    Classic nfl

*Through eight weeks the Patriots have had five of the seven most flag-heavy crews in the NFL, including the crew that throws the most flags twice.*

Yep no way can anyone tell me this isn’t a conscious thing by the nfl offices.

  6. Just 2 weeks after the Adrian Hill debacle!!! Is this the punishment for an easy schedule? We have garbage crews!

  7. When a big play happens anymore, I don’t get excited.

I get apprehensive that some ref is gonna come running from out of nowhere because someone was a half an inch off a line 30 yards away.

  8. NFL really needs to step in to get all officials on the same board. It seems like now days we have refs that like the spotlight so they throw more flags. If a ref is good we shouldn’t even know who they are, the fact that people remember names points to bad refs

  9. I love when the Patriots have to play the Browns and the Zebras. It’s so entertaining.

  10. Does Fanduel have an under over on number of flags? Because that’s all that’s missing.

  11. He officiated the matchup against the Dolphins in week 2, I thought he did respectably.

  12. I just want a break down on the penalties teams get. Penalties getting called for false starts, delay of games, illegal formations, offsides, too many men on the field or in the huddle, roughing/running into the kicker/punter, facemasks, horse collar, etc. all of that I want perfectly called. Every play. No reason that should not get called correctly when it’s a black and white call and most of the time it is called correctly and there’s really no hate from me towards the officiating crew when they makes those calls.

All the other ones need to be blatant to be called. I would love to see a breakdown of these when it comes to crews and teams.
