Dang, wasn’t expecting u/JewishSpace_Laser and my post to gain as many views and posts as it has, but incredibly glad that it has. Kids in need of help will be the real winners.
First surgery was at CHOC, all the others were at CHLA. Shoutout the congenital heart surgeons. Pretty sure the dude who operated on me in the 90’s also did Jimmy Kimmels kids’ operation a couple years back.
The original idea was put together a couple of days ago, and it was a suggestion for whatever team won to donate to the other city’s Children’s Hospital.
Considering the news today re: the Vesia’s, I think both sides are in agreement that we don’t need to wait that long.
I just got paid and can spare a few dollars for sick kids. We’re rivals, not enemies.
If anyone is wondering why you would donate to a hospital in a country with universal health care. Hospital for Sick Kids treats kids from all over the world and conducts world class research.
We have a Children’s hospital here in SW Ontario who has helped my son a lot over the past few years. I’m gonna donate to them instead for personal reasons, but this challenge between TO/LA is awesome. I love this idea .

As an O’s fan, I do not have a horse in this World Series race and might just donate to all three that are listed. I’m in my second trimester of pregnancy the idea of a late term loss or complications is gut wrenching. Wishing the Vesia family all the best.
Sorry Toronto fans, you won’t be able to see my ugly mug for Game 1 or 2, I donated my funds to Children’s Hospital LA instead of paying for flight/hotel/ticket 😁
I saw Vesia in some YouTube video or something and he came off really likeable. That isn’t a requirement for me to wish him and his loved ones strength in whatever awfulness they are facing, but it makes me extra sad.
