NY Mets Could Lose Pete Alonso to the Yankees? Mets News ! METS UPDATES!

Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome all back to Dominant Mets Nation. Thank you friends for returning. Uh, wow. We got a we got a fun one today. It looks like the New York Yankees, those big bad Yankees could potentially be interested in stealing star first baseman Pete Alonszo from the New York Mets. That news coming from John Haymon reporting interest out of the Yankees camp. Wow, folks. You know, just off of that news, how is that making you feel? You know, again, are you a Mets fan, Yankee fan, Bob fan? Obviously, it’s going to hit you differently, but I’m going to tell you how it hits me because I’m a bit shocked. I am a bit shocked. I’m a bit shocked. So, we’re going to go through that. Um, so we’re going to go through some Mets news today. Have some fun. Um, as always, let’s start off this video, right? We want to get to 100 million likes, so hit that like button. Um, you know, obviously your like will go a long way and it’s the best way to show your support. It is the best way to show your support. All I can say is thank you in advance. Thank you in advance. And if you are a new um or new member, new to watching the channel, we love you to join the family. Anybody MLB fans, Mets fans, we know again, we’d love everyone to join. Okay, so let’s get down and let’s talk about this news. And I’ll just start off by this. You know, before I get into the the details, I’m just going to say, you know, this is not these old Yankees, not your father’s Yankees. These aren’t your under George Stein Brener Yankees. Um, if this is true, if this is true, true. I mean, Yankees traditionally all throughout their years have been known to build their own stars around their own stars. And now if this is true, I mean all the Yankees wanted to beat the Mets. They wanted to win World Series. They did not want to become the New York Mets. They didn’t go and poach the New York Mets players. I mean, yes, they got Doc Gorden. Yes, they got Daryl Strawberry at the tail ends of their careers. Um, but it it just doesn’t feel like a Yankee move. It really did didn’t. And you know, George Steinber, the reason being is because he cared about perception. Stealing Alonzo folks would look desperate, something the old Yankees avoided because they didn’t chase headlines for the shock value. It was about winning. It was about making the correct business decision. All right? You know, the Yankees of the past, um, in my opinion, wouldn’t even go go near this. They would not go near this. And this is why I believe Steve Cohen respected when Aaron Judge was a free agent. He He didn’t go near Aaron Judge. He played it like George would have played it. He played it like George would have played it. And I’ll tell you this, too. Now, you’re telling me that the Yankees are going to invest even more money in a luxury power hitter when they already have Judge, Aaron Judge, the most prolific power hitter in all of baseball. They have Gene Carlos Stanton, you know, a DH slash mostly DH. Um, and you’re going to add a guy like Pete Alonzo. I don’t know. I don’t know. It’s it just doesn’t seem like a move that the old Yankees would make. Georgia’s Yankees, they were ruthless firing managers, calling out stars. Um, you know, they wouldn’t make a fanervice risk move. I just don’t think so. And you know, this is also a PR move, folks, because a lot of people are suggesting this because this is going to be revenge for the Juan Sodto steel that the Mets had last year, which is ridiculous because Juan Sodto wasn’t a Yankee. The Yankees had him for just one season. That wasn’t a Yankee. The Yankees rented him. Yes, they gave up prospects. Who the hell cares what the Yankees gave up? Juan Sodto was not a Yankee. He was not a Yankee. So, he played there for one year and the Mets felt that he could desperately help the team. And you know, the Mets did what the Mets do. You know, the Mets aren’t the Yankees. The Mets are trying their best to build their winning culture, their winning franchise. But again, the Yankees were are supposed to be that beacon at the top. And I mean, obviously the Dodgers right now have kicked the Yankees so far from the top that maybe the Yankees are by the bottom. Maybe the Yankees are by the bottom right now. But again, again, I I mean, I don’t want to hear Yankees could get revenge because that’s what I’m hearing, you know. And it all started during a live stream from Ford Bleacher Report. The New York Post, Mr. John Haymon said that there are members of Yankees brass, including owner House Steinbrer who have an affinity for Mets first baseman Pete Alonzo and would be interested in seeing him switch burrows this off season. Now, now now folks, we had great we had a great saga last off season. We detailed almost every single twist and turn in the Pete Alonzo saga. Every single news that came out, we analyzed it to the tea. Now, here, this takes a little bit of analysis, and I’m pretty sure you can pick this up as well. John Haymon has a direct line to who? Who who who? Scott Boris, the agent of Peteronzo. So, what is the best thing Pete Alonzo can have right now? Oh, one of the best things he can have is a bidding war between the New York Mets and the New York Yankees. So, John Haymon reports how Stein Burner and the Yankees brass are interested in Pete Alonzo. So again, that is supposedly going should, if the Mets are interested, lighting a fire under Steve Cohen, lighting a fire under the Mets brass to come out firing and come out hot with an offer. Now to go on with the quotes. So it it it goes on to say, “At least some people in the Yankees organization do like Alonzo.” Heymon goes on to say they have first base open and would they go for another right-handed bat? Um Heymon says I’m not positive on that one but I do know that there is like for Alonzo how Steinburn is a guy who does like him. They’re both Gators. They’re just not from Florida but went to Florida. I mean I that is another I think um you know mythical thing that oh if a person went to the same school that going to make them more likely to make a change on it. I mean that re really means nothing. That means nothing. Uh it really means nothing. It really doesn’t. I mean if um you know I I hear okay Pete is from Tampa. You know if the Tampa was a realistic team if they had a lot of money if they had if they were the Yankees down there okay that would be realistic. Pete Alonzo going home, you know. Then I hear Pete interested in Boston. Boston is a nice team, you know, has money there. You have a lot of young players. Pete’s wife is from the area. Okay, that’s a realistic option. Um, but, you know, just because, you know, Hal went to the same school as Pete, you know, that means really nothing. So, again, that’s John Haymon trying to juice up the story. So, that’s another that’s a key nugget right there that I said, you know what? Let me just kind of look into this a little more because that’s BS right there. That’s fluff. That is the definition of fluff to try to make a story sound more intriguing. Um, and the connection to sound stronger. Okay. So, again, comment down below. What do you think? What do you think about the Yankees being interested? What do you think about Peter Lonzo going to the Yankees? um you know let me know your opinion. All right so do the Yankees even need a need Alonzo? Do they even need Alonzo? So I gave you my opinions earlier what I felt about this move taken by the Yankees but in theory have an opening. They have an opening at first base with Gold Smith ticketed for the open market after signing that one-year deal last off season. At the same time, they have Ben Rice, and Ben Rice has some makings of a future superstar at the position. So, technically, they already have a young, inexpensive option with potential. Last year, Rice hit 26 home runs, had an 836 OPS, but perhaps he could move to the catcher position if the Yankees found a way to bring Alonzo to the Bronx. Now, you know, Rice last year, he played a lot of baseball. Um, you know, behind the plate, he had a three defensive run save and a minus2 statcast fielding run value. Um, and for that reason, it’s really hard to imagine that the Yankees would entrust Bryce with handling the backs stop duties on a regular basis ahead of a guy like Austin Wells, who is much better defensively. Okay, so Alonszo undoubtedly like he would with the Mets, like he would with other lineups, would be an exciting addition next year. He would be an exciting uh addition um before behind Aaron Judge, wherever they put him in the lineup, most likely in the middle. He’s an elite power threat who hit 38 home runs. He had an 871 OPS. He lifted his average tremendously, had the highest average of his career. He led the league in doubles. Um, you know, he was a lot better discipline-wise at not chasing breaking balls outside the strike zone. Um, he’s obviously one of the most durable players in all of baseball, playing 162 games in 2025, 162 games in 2024, and I believe the least games he’s played besides the COVID season is like 152. So, Peter Alonzo is nothing but ultra dur durable. Okay. All right. Now, we know Peter Lonzo is likely going to command a longterm contract worth well over a hundred million. And, you know, the, you know, the Yankees like the Mets have to evaluate if that’s the best way to spend money. Now, okay, folks. Now, now here’s the deal. Here’s the deal. And I’m just going to allude to what I alluded to a few short minutes ago. This is going to be a saga. You know, you’re going to hear a different team interested in Pete as this saga progresses. Right now, the team you’re hearing is the Yankees. And you know, if you’re Scott Boris, if you are Pete Alonzo, that is perfect. That is the right team to get the Mets. Maybe that’s the team. you know, and you gota you got to figure if Pete, you know, he wants to go back to the Mets, you know, you want to get the Mets out of the box with a hot offer, you know, to Pete. Um, so, you know, you know, um, it you just take it what it is. You know, the Mets right now are going to evaluate the market. There’s a lot of Mets fans right now that, you know, are saying, “Hey, it’s time for Pete to go. You know, defensively, we want to upgrade. He’s 3. He’s going to be 31 years old. We want to get younger. We want to get faster. We want to utilize that money to upgrade pitching, to upgrade other positions. You know, we have other options. We have other pressing needs. We’ve won nothing with Pete in seven years. Let’s go in a different direction. We are rebuilding. We are retooling. And you know what? That is all fair. That is really all fair. You know, again, I’m going to say this. You know, Pete had a lot of offensive production u with the right contract. You know, I would love Pete to stay a Met would I love him, but you know, I would also understand if the Mets decide to go in another direction in in another direction. And you know, there are, you know, usually steps to building that elite World Series team and it just seemed like last year, as we’ve discussed in 2024, the Mets have, you know, taken a couple steps backwards, but this offseason is off season is going to be tremendously important important. And, you know, I think it’s very uh it’s going to be very telling the first couple moves outside the box. very telling what David Sterns has in store because here’s my analysis of the off season right now. Right now, we know the Mets pitching. We know they want to concentrate on, you know, run prevention, but in terms of an exact plan, I don’t think anybody has a damn clue. You listen to MLB insiders, you know, Anthony Tacoma, Will Salmon, um you know, a Andy uh Martino, your favorite Mets insiders. Everybody says the Mets can go in. They could trade Klay Holmes, they could trade David Peterson, they could trade Ronnie Mauricio, Mark Viento. I mean, like you’ve literally virtually heard they could trade Jeff McDeals. half their roster, half their roster and half of their prospects for players, whether it be Scubbo, Alcadra, um, Skins, I mean, you’ve heard every single plan under the book, right? You know, I mean, the most recent plan that I heard and, you know, I was like, at first I’m like, you know, how does it make sense? But there was speculation. I think it was Bleacher Report. It was saying that the Oakland A’s, they’d be interested in trading for Clay Holmes because the Mets have him for another year. Pitching is a pre, you know, obviously a premium right now. And you know what? The Mets need pitching. So, you know, why would you trade Klay Holmes? But then, you know, this is what makes things kind of interesting. if Sterns could think outside the box and if he trades for a scubble, if he finds a way to acquire another top-of-the-line pitcher, um, you know, then we’re going to have a plethora of pitcher, right? So, if you have some of that excess and, you know, a guy like Klay Holmes who had a mid erra three, he’s not making a lot of money, you know, his value is decent to a team looking for pitching and not looking to pay a lot of money for it. So, could that net you a player in return that could really really help you? Now, my last video said, would you be willing to trade a Francisco Alvarez? Now, you know, Francisco Alvarez, I would say like 80 90% of the feedback I got that, hey, if you’re getting scoop, hey, I’ll drive him to the airport. Of of course. Hell yeah, I’d want to get rid of Alvie. And like most of the comments were saying Alvie’s washed. His best years are behind him. And I’m thinking like, you know, honestly, you know, I I loved Alvie, but you know, I know he’s been injuryprone, and I know there’s a lot of, you know, a lot of things that Alvie hasn’t really living up to. I’ll just say that. But I really hope the Detroit Tigers are not watching Mets YouTube because if they had any interest and they hear the comments, not that you got to go by the fan comments, but you know, it’s always interesting if you’re an opposing organization how a fan base feels about a prospective player. And the Mets fans, a lot of Mets fans are just crushing Alberts. Just crushing Alberts. And you know, sometimes people are a little harder harder on a situation, but it’s understandable because you’re thinking we got to get school ball. Now you’re talking about one of the best players, one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. So yes, including an Alvarez, even though he, you know, if he’s healthy, if he puts things together, if he becomes more disciplined, if he gets it right psychologically, you know, he does have the potential to be that cornerstone piece, right? So people were saying he has zero value. No, usually franchises believe that, hey, if a 23 year old catcher hasn’t put it together, because it because of being of injury, because the guy’s not disciplined. Well, you know, they believe, you know, teams believe, hey, if he comes to us, we can fix it. He’s only 23 years old. He’s hit 25 home runs in his career. He had that monster um um August just a few short months ago where we saw, you know, this is what the kid truly could be. And if he could be our cornerstone catcher, that is just phenomenal. Phenomenal. Plus, we’ll get two other pitchers in the package and another, you know, prospect. So, you know, that’s that’s something that you can kind of sell the fans that you have something that you can add to your current roster. Plus, you have a plethora of pitchers and future prospects as well. All right. So, it’s interesting. So, that being said, you lose Alvarez. You lose Alvarez. How do you replace him? Right. So, um, you know, at the time a couple days ago, everybody, and you know, I agree JT Riyomuto, a veteran catcher, defensive guy, you know, hey, that’s an option. But then when the athletics thing came to my radar, um, you know, one of the players names that were bandied about was Sheay Langalers. So, Sheay Langalers is a catcher from the, um, Oakland Athletics. And you know, this guy is a very, very solid player. He was a fourwar player last year. Um, hit 31 home runs, 72 RBI’s, 277 batting average. I mean, this these are the numbers that you would only dream dream Alvarez would be able to achieve. Now, Alvarez now Langalers is a free agent um in 2029. So that means if you trade for him 2026, 2027 and 2028. I mean, interestingly enough, I mean, I believe he becomes a free agent the same year as Alver. So if you trade him away and you somehow put a package together for um you know, Langalers, meaning you build around homes, not that he has enough value to net a Langalers, but you know, then you put one or two pieces behind that. Um you know, that is playing chess, folks. That is playing chess. Now you get Tariq Scuba, you use Francisco Alvarez to not you not include a couple other top prospects. Um and then you quickly replace Alvarez with a much better option. Again, you’re going to have to be ultra aggressive. Sterns is going to have to be ultra creative um to get this done. Um, the Mets are going to have to wheel and deal, but this is the type of stuff that, you know, you have to be 10 steps ahead. 10 steps ahead. And that’s why we’re going to see what the moves are early on. And and it’ll indicate what direction the Mets are going to go in. What direction the Mets are going to go in. Are they going to aggressively pursue a guy like Tariq Scuba, right? You know, right off jump street. Um, and you know, it’s it’s it’s just going to be interesting. like the GM meetings, they’re going to happen early to mid November. Winter meetings usually happen, you know, um I don’t have the exact dates, but they usually happen um in the beginning of December, and that’s when usually the big deals take place. Uh but you know what, I I I would expect David Sterns to be ultra aggressive, really ultraaggressive. And and again, everybody right now, I don’t think there’s anybody, you know, um on the major league roster except for Juan Sto and Lindor that you could say is, you know, that I I can’t envision getting traded. You know, I just, you know, obviously Lindor and Sodto have those huge contracts. Sodto was just signed, but everybody else is really on the table. I can envision any anybody getting tra traded, anybody, any one of those players. And then from a prospect standpoint, the only two guys I wouldn’t trade or three guys I wouldn’t trade there. There are three guys that I would want to hold on to. And those three guys, two of them are probably obvious to you. Um Carson Benge. So you got Benge, you have Nolan Mlan, and um Ellon Pñena is another guy that I would not trade right now. He’d be one of my untouchables. those three guys. Everyone else is up for grabs. Now, if we’re talking about acquiring a skins whose value, his trade value is probably more than double the value of a scuba, then that then everybody’s on the table. Everybody’s on the table. But, you know, barring that being the case, you know, I’m not trading a Nan Mlan because, you know, the thing is NLAN shows flashes of being a frontline ace type of starter, has six years left of control. I mean, that is a guy that has that tremendous high value. Tremendous high value. So, you know, it’s going to be exciting. It’s going to be in intriguing. And again, I’m interested to see which way the Mets are going to go. you know, this Yankee stuff right now. Um, with with Pete Alonzo, I have to hear more, see more. Um, because right now, I think it’s just, you know, kind of bit hogwash. Um, so at this point, if you could hit the like button if you’re enjoying the content so far. Uh, again, we are looking our goal is at least 100 likes. I know I mentioned 100 million likes in the beginning of the video. That might have been a little too high. So, we’ll go for 100 likes this video. Um, you know, do do some good stuff. You know, share the video if um share the video, hit the notification, and and certainly certainly hit the like button and hyping the video. That’s another feature that they they give you guys to to spread the video. Spread the word. Spread the word. Okay. All right. So, so let’s see here. What else did I want to talk? Okay. So, the next news and actually came from Andy Martino um a very short time ago kind of gives me, you know, indication um of where the Mets may be leaning in terms of a big market free agent signing. And I’m going to go through it and it’s going to start with the center field possible replacement for or how the Mets are going to treat center field in 2026. Um, centerfield is a very important position. We all know the Mets have to upgrade center field and now the New York Mets, a lot of fans were speculating, is Carson Benj going to have the opportunity on day one to win the job. Is he going to have and is that going to be our solution? Now, we have some updates from um Andy Martino. He reported that the Mets don’t plan on calling up the top outfielder prospect Carson Benj next season and will find a shortterm plan in center field until they feel that he’s ready. So Andy Martino plugged into the New York Mets saying no, it’s not going to happen at least at the beginning of the season and probably for most of the season. So, um, and he goes on to say, “I think it’s going to be shortterm. You’ve seen plus defenders in center field being a strong goal for David Stern since he’s been here, whether it’s Harrison Bader, Tyrone Taylor, Cedric Mullins. It just didn’t quite work out. They have Carson Benj. The prospect they think is coming late next year or maybe the year after that, depending on how good of a year he has in 2026. They want to keep room for Bench to emerge. So, they’re going to think short term shortterm, I think. I think now, okay, now here’s my thinking. My thinking. Now, in my last video, I reacted to the Mets potentially getting involved in the Luis Robert sweepstakes again. again. But now this latest report has me rethinking that because if you trade for Luis Robert Jr., an elite center fielder, you’re trading for him for two more years at least at least and possibly to resign him and possibly to resign him because of the fact that if you trade with the White Sox, they are going to ask a high price. I can, you know, it’d be another story if the cost, the value wasn’t high, but the value is going to be high. So, if you invest prospects, you’re going to want to put them out there for at least 2 years. Now, Andy saying, “No, whatever the Mets do, it’s going to be a shortterm solution because the job is being held for Carson Benge.” So again, this is leading me to believe that the New York Mets have something else in their mind that I’m going to get to momentarily. But Andy says that the Mets right now, in order to plug the shortterm gap, they’re going to look shortterm. That means they’re going to look at, you know, Tyrron Taylor. Is he going to be an option to play center field full-time? And in my opinion, you know, I think he is so much better as a fourth outfielder. So, I wouldn’t say that’s the answer. Um, another answer is former Met Harrison Bader. Is that going to be a reunion? Um, you know, and maybe that’s a possibility because you have Harrison Bader shortterm one-year contract. Now, Tyrone Taylor as a backup. Okay, now that’s more formidable. um or the Mets, are they just going to have Tyrone Taylor, Jeff McNeel, um rotate that Brandon NMO, are they going to go that route because they don’t want to invest in getting anybody, you know, else or or or are they going to sign, which makes all the sense in the world to me, getting a guy like Bellinger, getting a guy like Bellinger who could play center field for a good majority majority of the year, then go to first, then go to left, go anywhere you want him to go. And you know, he’s going to produce as a high le at a high level. He’s going to be high leverage player. He’s going to help your defense. He’s going to help your base running. He’s going to help your hitting. He’s going to help your club out. He’s going to help your versatility. And that’s why I think that a guy like Sterns would be leaning to signing a guy like Bellinger. You know, based on what the latest reports, based on the latest reports, a guy like Bellinger serves what the Mets want to do perfectly. Perfectly. Then you get Benj in the fold. Let’s just say at the end of the year. Um Bellinger, he can play anywhere. He can play uh left field. Uh if NMO is, you know, not doing well, he could play first. Wherever you need Bellinger to play, he is such an elite weapon. Such an elite weapon. Um so, you know, folks, what do you what do you think? What do you think? I the news and the updates are going to change. um this, you know, everything the sagas are going to change, but you know, taking away from today’s news, it’s it’s more or less bluster about the Yankees and Pete Lonzo could come to fruition. You know, I mean, again, the Yankees have an opening, have an opening, and the Yankees have been known to go after like these power guys in the past, and you know, Pete may not want to leave New York. So, it might be a match made in heaven. Again, I I said it’s something that I couldn’t envision the Yankees doing in the past. Um, you know, but then again, it’s just me be my own biased view tweaking the Yankee fans. Who the hell knows? Who the hell knows? But at the end of the day, I also think that there is, you know, something to it, you know, um the, you know, Scott Boris working his magic through the media, working his magic through new sources and, you know, you know, boosting or urging other teams like the Mets to come into the into the equation with strong strong offers early on. You know, again, you know, this is very different than how the um, you know, Pete Alonzo saga happened last year. LA last year, it was a very slow developing market for Pete and Scott. You know, in fact, Scott just hung out. He dealt with the W. I know, uh, he dealt with the Wanoto situation first. You know, you heard little little things about Pete, how the polar bear this, the polar bear that, but, you know, nothing really specific. This year, it seems like Pete and Scott are really trying to develop that market early on. They’re trying to develop that market early on by setting the expectation. And again, they set the expectations at at least seven years, but it wasn’t like they did last year where they said, “Oh, we’re looking for at least a Prince Fielder contract.” So, I mean, last year they they blew everybody in their mother out of the water with in terms of being ultra unrealistic. I know seven years plus is still kind of unrealistic. I wouldn’t go anywhere near that. Um I mean I struggle to give him five years, but you know what? Um you know, I I I’ve had my uh concerns about David Stern, but you know, again, I I still have confidence in, you know, if you and I’m going to say this. If you listen to one maybe two of my videos and you haven’t been listening to the last year, you know, you’re going to think, “Oh, this guy completely hates Sterns or he hates Mendoza or he hates this.” No, I I when it’s time to get on somebody, I’ll get on somebody. When it’s time to give them praise and respect, I’ve given every single person, Pete, Alonzo, Mendoza, uh Sterns, everybody praise and respect. But, you know, at the end of the day, when they do not deserve it, you know, when they don’t deserve praise, respect. This year has been an unmitigated disaster. The New York Mets fans have been let down on every single turn and angle. You know, I’m not going to say, hey, you know, bravo, great job. I still got all the confidence in the world. You know, I I I am still hope hoping and but you know, I just need to see it. I need to see what’s going on. You know, make the evaluations um and then, you know, get back to you. So, all right folks, again, another great opportunity to hit that like button. If you are not yet subscribed, hit that subscribe button. We love you to join the dominant Mets Nation family. Um, you know, it’s going to be a fun off seasonason. I will tell you that. I will tell you that. I’m excited myself. I’m certainly excited because I think that this is going to be one of those if the Mets do it right, if the Mets do it right, it could be one of those gamechanging off seasons where five years from now we go remember what the Mets did after the 2025 disaster and how they were able to just change things on a dime because of this move, that move, and that move. I I mean I I I really hope I really hope that happens. And the good thing at the end of the day, if you’re the New York Mets, um you know, if you’re a New York Mets fan, you got to feel good about a couple things. Number one, we have a passionate owner who’s willing to move heaven and earth to make this team a winner, right? You need that. Number two, we have the most resources. You could say the Dodgers, but we have tied with the most resources in in all of baseball, right? Number one, you got to have a guy who’s willing because having the most resources doesn’t mean anything if you don’t have a guy who’s willing. There’s many other franchise owners who have a lot of money. So, number one, that’s why I put Steve Cohen. You have a guy who’s passionate and willing to make moves. Number two, you have all the resources, the tools, anything that at the Mets disposal. Uh, number three, you know, you going in the third year of the David Sterns regime. So, it’s not like, oh, I’m going to sit back and evaluate. And you know, I know he had a a lot of small moves early on, but right now it’s time to put on our big boy pants and take a little more risk and be more aggressive. And you know, we have the windows of our some superstars closing out. Even if we signed an Edwin Diaz, he’s going to be in his 30s. Um, we have Lindor going at age 32. And, you know, that’s a big one, folks. That is a big one. We have a a shortstop. um you know, prime position gold glove award-winning guy, defensive stud. Um guy who’s a 3030 almost every single year. Uh 160 70 hits. Um you know, this is a guy, you know, I think sometimes we take for granted. Take for granted. And he’s he’s going to be 32. He’s going to be 32. So realistically, what does he have? Two, three years in his like prime in his prime. So, you know, let’s take advantage of that. I believe Steve Cohen, Steve Cohen and David Sterns do realize that. That’s why you add in another guy like Juan Stoodto kind of extend his, you know, the prime, extend the window and help and do everything under his power, under our power to make this a very, very powerful team. Now, the Dodgers obviously are in the World Series. Obviously, they’re juggernaut. Obviously, they’re the, you know, the the standard right now. they are the standard. Um, so, you know, teams right now are going to have to fall in line behind them and just have to compete. You know, somebody’s going to have to dethrone the Dodgers. You know, if the Blue Jays don’t win this, and congrats to the Blue Jays, really, congrats to them. I I, you know, they kind of really surprised the heck out of me this season. Congrats to, you know, the Blue Jays. Um, you know, Dodgers doing it again. Congrats to them. But, you know, every team right now is in the shadow of the Dodgers. you know, shadow of the Dodgers. And I I think the Dodgers have shown um the rest of Major League Baseball that having a starting rotation using your resources and investing in building and beefing up that rotation is super important. Yes, you know, one or you know, a couple of these fringe players you could sign. David Sterns has been successful with some players, but there’s a large majority of those players where he hasn’t been successful. We had 50 pitchers that we went through last year. 50 pitchers. A lot of those pitchers didn’t work out and a lot of our top echelon pitchers, Sanga, Maniah, you know, Peterson late, Klay Holmes got a little tired. Um, you know, a lot of guys did not work out. So, it’s not always sunshine roses. It’s not always perfect. Sometimes you just have to invest in talent, talent, talent, talent. Tariq School is a great way to start an off season. Um again that seems to be going to be the powerful topic going forward. Um you know again again it’s going to be interesting. It’s going to be interesting. Um you know again I love the comments. I just want to say that you know I love the different perspectives. You know again you know everybody I’m not expecting everybody to agree with me. I’m expecting a lot of disagreement but I love everybody being respectful debate. That is what makes this channel beautiful. We have a lot of respectful dialogue back and forth and we share our opinions and sometimes you know what you know you win me over, maybe I might win you over. You know, maybe you might win, you know, other fans over. That’s part of the fun of it, especially in the offseason. So, again, keep the great commentary going. Um, what was there was one of the comments I wanted to address. It was somebody made a good point. Uh, wait. Okay, so here here was actually a really, you know, good point. So in in regards to Sterns and his performance at the deadline, you know, obviously, you know, none of this none of the moves ended up working out, you know, we wasted a lot of prospects. We have nothing really to show for it. Um, so to me, I consider that an unmititigated disaster. And you combine that with the free agent signings, Montage, Maniah, um, and other non-impactful moves, you know, this season was a big dud. So, you know, one of of our great members, you know, um commented and I thought it was a very astute comment. Um said, you know, I have to disagree about your take about Sterns and his performance at the trade deadline because on paper, everyone with the platform and their mother congratulated and said on paper, we won the deadline. It’s not his fault that almost every player choked under pressure. Um so, you know, basically, you know, hey, you can’t blame Sterns. everybody, YouTubers, writers, everybody thought he did a great job. Well, you know, my response to that is, you know what, we’re not baseball experts. We’re not. We’re not. We’re not. We, you know, we follow baseball a ridiculous amount of time, and, you know, I I follow it 247. Um, I love baseball, but again, I’m not getting paid $11 million to make those decisions. I don’t have the same data, the same analytics, the same information that a David Sterns does, other organizations. I don’t have the same research that they do. Nobody does. These guys, you know, that that Steve Cohen, you know, the resources they have, you know, are, you know, next level, next level. And again, they’re not getting paid. David Sterns is not getting paid to think like me. He’s not getting paid to think like the other YouTubers. great YouTubers out there, great commentary, great, you know, stuff. A lot of great Mets YouTubers. Um, you know, a lot of great YouTubers out there in general, sports YouTubers. But again, you know, their interest in the Mets situation is, you know, everything varies. Everything’s different from the outside looking in it. It looked great. It did look great. But again, you know, we have to look at things differently. David Sterns is being paid to look at things, have foresight, you know, good. And this is what I was always like kind of told growing up. Good presidents, good GMs are able to see things that people don’t see. And they are able to see things before other people can see things. Those are what makes great good GMs for from average GMs. Now, if you compare that deadline, was David Sterns able to have any foresight? Was he able to see into anything? like you know it’s not like one move got messed up and not like two like every move got messed up and every move we wasted prospects. So, you know, there was something wrong to that way of thinking. And again, you know, it was questioned early on. You know, hey, why are you going to trade for all of these players and none of them, you know, have any time for 2026? You don’t have any like of the contracts going into 2026. So, you’re trading for only a handful of games and you’re giving up, you know, some prospects that at one time had decent value. you know, Drew Gilbert, that was what netted the um, you know, the Houston Astros Justin Verlander. So, you know, some of these players, you know, lost some value. So, again, why weren’t they traded earlier if they were on the block when they had more value? Um, and again, you know, you included these guys and you really had nothing to show for it. Again, I’m not going to take my foot off the pedal. You know, I still expect much more from a guy the highest paid uh general manager, president in the game, a guy that I have more confidence and faith that he should perform at a higher level. But great, great comment because that is something that a lot of Mets fans, you know, was saying, hey, everybody else thought of it. It’s fine. But, you know, that’s just my perspective um on that particular uh that particular topic. So, that was a great comment and we we had a lot of great comments, you know, um a lot of people saying Alvarez, you know, well, you know, because it was a Alvarez my last video. Um Hobby, you made some great comments as well. I mean, you know, um in fact, you know what? If Hobby, if you’re listening, whoever is listening, I I I’m I’m just gonna This is great information. Um, so again, in terms of evaluating keeping Francisco Alers in in terms of including him in a trade, not including him in a trade, you know, hobby made a great analysis and I’m just going to read you exactly what he wrote because he did a great job. He says Alers is a small injury-prone defensive liability. He’s Travis Dorno 2.0. you know, um, as you mentioned, strength down the middle is a key championship component, and this guy hurts the ball up behind the dish. Yes, he has times exhibited elite power, but he won’t make us fans forget Mike Piaza or Gary Carter. Can Sterns use him as trade bait? Definitely. I would use him as a uh you use him as the primary piece in talks for Scooble or Skins. But if that move is on the horizon, the trade package for both must be sane. I’m not moving Benjam Mlan or both Tong and Sprro. They get one, not both. If not, walk away and let the Tigers watch school bolt Mtown for nothing. Their problem, not ours. Now, I thought that was a pretty good astute point. You know, pointing out that the Tigers right now are the ones with the pressure on them. They are the ones right now trying to signal and right now of threat of Scooball leaving next year for nothing. So they have to work out a package where they deem viable enough to present to their fan base and their situation to help out their the team and and it’s not easy. It’s not easy because you have to think about it. You know, if you’re a team trading for Scooball, well, number one, um can I afford to resign? Can I afford to resign? that’s going to drastically affect what you’re going to offer. If you know you’re only going to get him for a year, you’re not going to offer a bunch of top prospects. Um, so can you afford? Number two, is Scuba willing to sign where I, you know, where you traded? You know, is he looking for a big market? Um, is he looking to go to just anyone who throws him the most money? So, there’s, you know, again, and a lot of teams I don’t think can afford to go that high. There’s a lot of risk associated. And then Detroit, you know, again to throw more risk in their side of the situation. He could get hurt. He could have a low performance if the Detroit if the Detroit Tigers decide not to to um trade him. I think the Detroit Tigers, no doubt about it, are trading him this off season. Um and you know, the Mets right now look like the perfect match. They they really do. And and that’s another thing that you know, give credit to New York Mets. you know, besides, you know, Steve Cohen, the money, the resources, number three, they finally have the farm system, the prospects to net them a guy like Scooball. In the past, the Mets didn’t have a deep prospect. you know, they might have had like maybe two or three shiny prospects, but the Mets right now can actually put packages together, including some of their major league talent, um, and actually get things done without including, you know, all of their top three, four, five prospects, which you give them kudos and credit for Okay. All right. So, I think I addressed everything that I wanted to address. Um, you know, according to baseball trade values, I believe Scooble, not Scubable. Um, Skins holds the most value out of everybody. So, trade value, his value, trade value is 130.6. That’s how they evaluate. They call it trade surplus. So, his trade surplus is 130.6, which is crazy high. Crazy high. like you know let me just give you like an example just so you know I I believe schools is 51 so according you know to the Mets if they want to trade for school they would have to you know put a package together that gets to 51 now this doesn’t always like make sense this is just baseball trade but just so you know I I tell you the Mets biggest surplus is Juanto he has a trade value of 113.4 Lindor has 39.2 two Jet Williams 23.1 Nolan Mlan 21.6. So Nolan Mlan I think should be so much higher but you know he didn’t he hasn’t had that much exposure I I I suppose his value is going to be way higher but um you know so realistically if a guy has 130 value realistically you would have to give up um you know Joe Williams 23 MLAN 21 Brett Batty 20 Francisco Average 16 Jacob Rymer 13 and I think that right there that’s like 120 so that be your top five prospects plus. So, I mean, Paul Skins is going to be very, very tough to get to. Scubble, his value, that’s a bit different. He’s in his last year of his contract. Yes, he’s good. Yes, he’s dominant, but that’s that that’s I guess a benefit to the Mets. The benefit of him being in his last year of his contract makes him likely and and attainable. It makes him attainable. It makes his value low enough where the Mets can say, “All right, you know what? I’m willing to give up these two or three prospects because I feel that I could resign him and he’s going to take us to that next next level, next next level. And you know, honestly, we need an ace in the worst way. And you know, I was just saying to myself the other day how I always loved Dog Grom, but I just never really appreciate him as much as I should. You know, it is just so special to have that ace. So special to really have that ace. Just makes everything so much easier. So much easier. Okay. All right, folks. We are going to call it quits right now. If you’re listening, if you’re listening right now at the end of the video video, drop a number one so I know that you are watching to the end. You know, you are the best. I appreciate you so much. Um, it really means a lot. Drop a number one. Again, we’re going to continue this con content. Keep it rolling. Um, you know, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Appreciate you. I love you guys. I’ll speak to everyone very very

  1. Lol he’s a free agent. They can only steal him from our fans feelings. He is gonna chase the best deal just like degrom did. N I can’t believe anything from Heyman.Boris uses him to spread fake rumors

  2. I really don’t care, I’m done with this Pete crap. It seems everyone is forgetting Pete is the one who turned down the 7 year deal a few seasons ago, and now here we are blaming the Mets for this sh!t. Time to move on from Pete and build this offense around Soto and Lindor!! 🤔

  3. Let’s move on, we don’t need to drag this sh!t out like last season where all the players are gone because we sat waiting for baby Huey Pete and Borazz!🤔🤬

  4. You have to know when it’s time to move on from vet players as well as prospects. The Mets made the right moves trading DeGrom he just couldn’t stay healthy for us, the same for Travis d’Arnaud.🤔

  5. I think Cohen should just cough it up. Whatever anybody else offers, make it sweeter and bring him back to the Mets. Maybe DH maybe 1st base, whatever. We want him back, we love you Pete. This team wouldn’t have had a fighting chance without him this year or last. It’s not our money. Who cares!

  6. The Yankees of the past would pounce on any former Met player they could. Gooden, Cone, Straw, Maz, Benitez, Ventura, on & on. Even the broadcasters in Seaver & McCarver.

  7. I haven’t heard this in a single Yankee channel. lol I don’t think the Yankees are interested in another power hitter that strikes out a lot and hits for low average.

  8. Im happy this will be the last offseason we have to talk about pete and where is he going. I expect him to sign a long term deal somewhere this offseason. I agree with you and would take bellinger , who would fit nicely in center, first, or a corner outfield spot. Ideally id like to bring back pete on a 5 year deal and sign bellinger for center. I cant wait for the offseason games to begin!!!!

  9. If I was a pitcher on the Yankees I would be terrified of trying to field a throw from Pete if I had to cover first. Look what he did to Senga. Look at what he almost did to McClean. Yeah, no thanks.

  10. The Yankees were embarrassed by last offseason. True, Juan Sotos' defection to Queens was not on the same level as if Aaron Judge signed the previous offseason or acquiring Andy Pettite or Thurman Munson, but nevertheless made that corporation on the corner of 161st and River look bad. George was spinning in his crypt. The Yankees' pursuit of Pete would be more motivated by vengeance than common sense. Yes, they may have a hole at first base, but Alonso wouldn't make sense for a few reasons. One, he's a righty stick; they already are top-heavy with right-handed power. Two, his age. With Stanton taking up their DH slot, what would they do with Pete long-term? Three, I know I make some of you sick with this, but the uncertainty, considering a new CBA after next season. Pete's defection to the Boogeydown would cost A LOT of cash and term otherwise prohibitive with the future implementation of a salary cap. Trust me, folks, it's coming. The free agent pursuit that would make more sense for the Skanks? You got it, Bleacher Creatures…Munetaka Murakami. Watching his tape, his stick was made for the short right field porch in that shopping mall across from the original House that Ruth Built. If The House of Steingrabber gives in to Boras and ridiculously overpays for Pete, so be it. We finally move on. As much as we love Pete, his contractual status has become a ridiculous saga of greed and ego concerning Boras and Cohen. Pete's exit would be disappointing, but allow Stearns to move forward with constructing a team more to his philosophy. Shout out to Bald Vinny and the Bleacher creatures, the Skanks love their fans so much they put you guys in the worst area of the mall, uh, sorry, ballpark. In finishing with sarcasm, the Yankees bring out the best in all of us. Pete in pinstripes would be reminiscent of when they acquired Jack Clark when King George was not listening to Stick Michael back in the day. DOM, any chance you cover this upcoming WBC?

  11. Isn't Cody Bellinger 30 years old right now? He'll be 31 around the same age as Pete Alonso (Polar Bear) on July 13th 2026. As far as the Tarik Skubal situation is not worth it because David Sterns aka Frankie Coupons is not paying a 30 year old man $400 million dollars. If I was the Mets look into Hunter Greene age 26 I know it might be a rumor but I feel that going younger might be the best option. I did see a post somewhere on Instagram about Anthony Kay left handed pitcher who was in Japan for 2 years is coming back to MLB maybe the NY Mets can look into him and he's around the same age as Cody Bellinger. About Francisco Alvarez being traded is really messed up and replacing him with another catcher is gonna be very difficult and challenging even though they have Luis Torrens. I've been hearing about a Japanese baseball player Kazuma Okimoto lately as well as Murakami but is this a rumor that Kazuma Okimoto may come to the NY Mets?

  12. I'm reading the comments on the Yankee channels. There is a huge big no from the Yankee fandom. The only reason they would even do this is so they can drive up the price for uncle stevie or/and Scott Boras is just twisting it so the Mets would force the Mets fandom to push Steve to pony up the 8 years +250/500 million

  13. The met fan…The biggest suckers falling for david sterms. Pete Alonso is not a met. I'm sick of him. One thing the mets fan does is counting their chickens before they hatch,, but they never hatch… This year pissed me off more tthan you think. They not only laid the worst rotton egg in their history they knew they would suck up the year pretending to have a world series team.
