It may seem crazy now, but in ’95 when the Steelers signed Haunter, many were saying he was a fraud, that his playstyle wouldn’t translate from Japan, that he was only a second evolution and would never reach his full potential unless traded.
But Woodson and Haunter shut the doubters up on the way to an AFC championship. Highlight reels full of Haunter’s signature Dream Eater hit, highly illegal in today’s league, featured routinely on Chris Berman’s weekly Lays Chips “Lay’d Out” segment of concussed players. It was a brutal game back in those days, and Haunter and Woodson fought for every yard of it
These guys will always be special to me cause I actually got to meet Haunter at the ’96 camp at Latrobe. Incredibly down to earth guy.
What do you think killed that Cubone’s mother 😔 too many pick-6’s had her faint permanently
go to bed bro lol
Unfortunately, his true potential was reached after he was traded…
Woodson was my first Steelers jersey
The 95 team will always be super special to me. We shoulda won that damn SB. Yeah the cowboys had more big time talent but that Steelers team was molded from disappointment and had the desire. Defense filled with studs. Went to my first ever game that year. SB XXX was probably still a bigger black hole in my heart than the loss to the packers
