The Canucks just had a MASSIVE character win….
Wow. Okay, first of all, I apologize for my voice. I’m a little bit under the weather, but the show must go on. Look, is it really a Vancouver Canucks game if they aren’t giving you a heart attack by the end of it? That was a crazy matchup to start off this Sunday morning between the Canucks and the Capitals because seriously, that game had a little bit of everything before the puck drop. Canucks announced that forward Brock Besser will not be in the starting lineup due to personal reasons. So, hopefully he’s all good. But the Conucks already without their top winger to start off this game. And what followed was an absolute roller coaster because the Conucks were flying out the gates, but then the injuries at the end of the first period. And it was weird because the team was up 3-0 to end off that first, but I was still upset at the injury to Phil Heedle. Hopefully, he is all right. I’ll comment on it right now. It wasn’t a head hunter hit, but it was a late hit. Heedle didn’t even have the puck. And let’s be honest here, it was Tom Wilson. This was definitely targeted. He has a bad track record of doing stuff like this. So, we’ll see. I’m sure we’ll get an update soon. Leer Mackey also went down in the first period. He drew in for Besser, but immediately got injured as well. Hope he’s all right. The second period was pretty neutral, but then the third period, the Canucks were just barely hanging on for dear life. They ran out of gas. And I’m not surprised they only had 10 forwards against a really strong Capitals team. And other than Demco, who was great as always, I have to comment on the MVP of this game, Elias Patterson, EP40, scored his first goal of the season and he was all over the ice blocking shots, sprawling himself in the defensive zone. Could have had a couple more points and he’s looking like he’s really getting his confidence back, making moves. It really is great to see. I just pray he keeps it up. That’s how he’s going to play night in and night out for 11.6. Honestly, if he’s scoring goals and making defensive plays like that, he could find himself as a dark horse for the Selki. Anyways, let’s jump into this game. Starting off with the first period of play. As I said, Person on the board early. Garland with a nice feed and Pety puts it by the glove hand of Charlie Lingren. One- nothing for the Canucks. Canucks build on this pressure to Brusk with a good chance. Tyler Meyers had a drive from the point. And then Arshy Baines comes in here with some speed. Can’t get it by Lingren. Demco on the other end was making some saves. Heedel and Kane almost link up here for a nice play, but it doesn’t go. And then right after that, Phil Heedle drives in front here. Big scrum and Tyler Myers gets on the end of it. Makes it two nothing for the Vancouver Conucks as they extend their lead. Caps challenged for some odd reason, but the Canucks obviously get a power play for delayed game after that. And it’s Kefir Sherwood who replaces Brock Besser on this power play who gets his fourth of the season. Nice job getting to the back door. Three nothing for the Vancouver Conucks. Things were looking great, but then the Phil Heedle hit obviously brought us back down to earth. We hope he’s okay. That really sucked to see. One thing that I did like to see though was Mancini dropping the gloves with Du and the Stallion did very well to hold his own. Honestly, I thought he won the fight, but anyways, Bluger extends the lead, makes it 4 nothing for the Canucks. They have it in a chokeold and caps to the power play. Canucks with a breakaway short-handed Drew O’ Connor and he just cannot score. This would have made it 50-0. Caps come back and you just knew they were going to put one in. It’s Ryan Leonard makes it 4-1. And then the third period happened. The Conucks were under siege for most of it. I don’t blame them. Three games and four nights. 10 forwards. Barely hanging on. Demco just could not get on the end of this one. 4-2 as Shikrren put this in. Right after that, Demco makes a marvelous save to keep it 4 to2. Then nothing really happened till the dying minutes and John Carlson from the point blasts one in, makes it 4 to3. And at this point, I was obviously worried. The Caps were coming on really strong, but then Elias Person puts his body on the line, stacks the pads twice here against the world’s best goal scorer of all time, Alex Ovetchkin. The Canucks end up escaping with the win, 4-3, just barely. And man, now we have to see what happens with the injured players. Hopefully, they’re all right. Apparently, Bluger also got hurt once again at the end of that game. So, we’ll see what the reports are. But with that, thank you for watching. Give me your thoughts in the comment section down below. Subscribe if you’re new. Peace out and take
The Vancouver Canucks beat the Washington Capitals 4-3. Filip Chytil got hit by Tom Wilson and didn’t return. Elias Pettersson looked very solid scoring and blocking 2 shots by Alex Ovechkin. Brock Boeser was out for personal reasons.

Lets go boys , we got the win and Petey got a goal!!
they were tired in the third for sure, 3 game sin less than 72 hours. GO Canucks!
OG-Petey
Go Nucks go!
Hopefully not major injuries to the 3 canucks!
Lekermaki, blueger, and chytil all got hurt and didn't finish the game. It was a very costly win.
2 points never the less
Rome hit on Horton was late and it was into the body. Wilson's hit was late and it was into the body. If Rome's hit was a major, Wilson's hit should have been a major. There should have been at least a 2 minute penalty for interference. The puck was gone.
Thank god we have Bluegar back.
Our players need to man up and fight. I'm sick and tired of seeing our players getting walked all over without consequences
no comment on the idiotic play Kane did dropping a pass back into the d-zone with 20 sec left in the game rather than shoot into an empty net?
We paid a steep price with Chytil and Lekkerimaki going down. I only heard Teddy got hurt here, in the vid. Hope the borscht beauty bounces back. I was gonna joke about his goal and how he's still chewing his cup winning cheeto.
EP40 put up a pretty good game with a goal and those 2 back to back blocks on OV. Channeling his inner Kirk McLean! He is starting to feel it.
For a change we have good soldiers to fall back on when the injuries shake out. Look at those Abby guys pulling their weight! Boom boom Mancini with the gloves off win. Rumble young man, rumble!
They pressed us at the end but they held up. These are really huge team building times. They are coming together.
Puck Tom Wilson
Petey literally stacking the pads to block a shot had me shouting at 11:30 am
What's with all these NHL babies taking games off for personal reasons? Unless your wife is giving birth to your first born or one of your relatives died, you're being paid to be a PROFESSIONAL hockey player. There's no games off for "personal reasons." It's so tiresome how pathetically weak our society is. Boeser needs to do better.
Canucks almost blew a 4-0 lead and here we are praising them like they won the cup.
Of course it was tom wilson with the hit I wouldn't expect anything less
This team looks like they want to win. Pettersson looks like he wants to win… so good news.
That was a scary game. My heart was beating, but thankfully, we came out with it.
Bittersweet for sure.
Happy with the win, but no one going after Wilson? I get he’s a big customer but there’s gotta be some type of retaliation
It wasn’t 3 games in 4 nights. It was 3 games in 67 hours. that’s 3 games in less than 3 days. Canucks got 3 w’s out of it tho 💪
Im the first to criticize Petey but those two saves were huge
Lekkerimaki looked like he dislocated his shoulder on that hit the way he was holding it after.
That was a pretty gutsy win by the Canucks that was a dirty hit
We need some protection for our precious players, which we don’t have an enforcer will be the right move
Here from a Reddit recommendation. Great vid!
MVP Petty needs to stick around
Great game. Would have loved to see Kane go after Wilson. I really hope Chytil is ok.
Ive been hearing about petey “getting his confidence” back for like 2 seasons… im not mad at the guy. I just wonder about him a lot.
Yeah and no thanks to useless no talent traitor to his own country Kane. What a waste of space and $$ and resources. I am embarresed to have him on our team
It’s still the start of the season give them a couple more games to warm up
