Yes but it was never really an option for him. He was leveraging himself against the chargers for more money probably
Harbaugh to chargers was pretty much sealed when we interviewed him. Besides him it’s now clear the top 2 choices were Vrabel and Mike Macdonald. Not sure if Vrabel was just waiting for the Pats job eventually but Macdonald is from Atlanta and went to Centennial HS and UGA. We probably could have landed him.
He was always going to LA

I think he always wanted to go to LA with Herbert. At least that’s the feeling from all the analysts I heard on podcasts.
I’m getting the feeling that none of these guys (Harbaugh, Ben Johnson, etc) wanted this job. Rumors of Blank panicking before hiring Raheem also feed that a bit. It is what it is. We’ve gotta create a better environment for success to lure elite coaching talent. Hopefully the upgrades in Flowery Branch are a step in the right direction. But this rebuild is about it more than just a roster. Players now rank our facilities highly (iirc) so I’m hoping the job becomes more attractive next time we are in the market for a coach.
Yall gotta stop this shit. Zero chance Harbaugh was gonna pick a team without an established quarterback.
He wanted to coach in Cali. Used us for leverage. He’s had one coaching stint not in Cali, that was for his alma mater. And he cheated and bailed, left others to hold the bag.
I wanted Harbaugh but we weren’t his top destination. Looking back, i think we underestimated how undesirable this job was compared to other tram like the Chargers.
Silly question of course, but he obviously wanted chargers over us. We even interviewed him
