[Joe Rampe]10 Free Agent Targets for the Detroit Tigers – Tigers Minor League Report

  1. Bias aside from Bregman not signing with us last year, I do not want him at all. A year older and missed 40+ last season.I’m already seeing that future where we’re talking about him being one of the worst contracts in the league.

  2. They need to improve their roster this offseason, there are problems with all of these guys but with only one more year of skubal I feel like you have to take a chance on someone

  3. Sportrac has Bichette market value at 8 year 185 million (23.3 aav) I hope the Tigers would pay that. He will only be 28 at the start of next season.

  4. Sign Tucker, Sign Bregman, Extend Skubal, trade for Clase and have the legal team get him out of it, Un-retire Miggy and use technology to revert his body to his peak physical prime. If the tigers do these things then they would probably be World Series contender. Still don’t think we’d be able to beat the Dodgers though

  5. I don’t know if Chris Ilitch is the type to give out big contracts just before the lockout. This team is not close.

  6. For me, the top target would be Bichette (righty bat, could probably play second or third and is on the right side of 30) he’s been very good offensively and could easily have his best seasons ahead.

Tucker might be next, but I expect a bidding war, and not a rational one.

Depending on the outlook on those, I’d definitely look at bringing back Torres. Best offensive 2nd baseman in Al for the first half and second half marred by injury. He’s also on the right side of 30 and, because of his production drop, you could probably sign him to a more modest deal with an opt out.
