Is it more likely we see a Kadri trade with his full NMC no longer in effect?

  1. The modified no-trade clause kicks in after this season is over and it does help that it becomes a modified one, I do think the Flames will trade him to a cup contender if they choose to move on from him even if he now has a modified no-trade clause as a sign of respect for the player

  2. People like to shit on Kadri but the team would be considerably worse without him, which wouldn’t be a bad thing considering the next draft. This is just for all those who are saying Flames would be better without him. No, they wouldn’t

  3. I wonder what teams he has on his no trade list.

This is good for the flames though. There are just no centres available, so if they decide to trade him, they could potentially do pretty well in that deal

  4. Thank Christ. Now they can go from not trading him because of his NMC to not trading him because of his M-NMC.

Realistically whether you like him or don’t, I think it’s clear the team should trade him. He’s 35, if he’s not declining now he will most certainly be in the next year or two. The Flames have multiple strong vets on the team, I think the leadership would be fine without even up to 3 of them. From an asset managment standpoint, I doubt his value will go any higher than it currently is. Strike soon if you can, conroy.

  5. I hope he’s in agreement to go somewhere he can play meaningful hockey this season. Not to count a turnaround out of the equation this year.

  6. I love that he wants to win here, but I think he’s gotta realize his window is closing and we’re not winning anytime soon, right?

  7. Patience y’all. I think he’ll be moved, but no one is making moves right this instant. It’s too soon. Closer to Christmas teams really start seeing that they need a veteran 2C that could put them over the edge.

  8. I wonder if Carolina would be interested in him. They need to start pushing and Kotkaniemi did not work out the way they wanted him to. Not sure what kind of return we could get but they certainly don’t lack for interesting prospects
