[Barry Jackson] NBA, to this point, is refusing to say why it didn’t warn Heat about any of this before Heat traded for Rozier…It has become increasingly clear in past 24 hours that information was withheld from Heat and Heat was wronged in all this.

  1. Suing the NBA would accomplish nothing substantial except pissing off the league. Miami DOES need to push for compensation though.

  2. I will accept this Barry in this moment. Later in the season, I may reject Barry.

  3. That means my future SG Darryn Peterson is on the way! Rig those ping pong balls for us Silver

  4. We either get public compensation or private compensation but we’re getting it one way or another. You don’t fuck with other teams money, let a trade go through that has the heat on the hook for $50+mil while he’s being federally investigated. It’s a fucking sham and if the sport is this crooked, time to give us our due.

  5. Dybantsa or Cam Boozer and all will be well don’t make this more complicated than it needs to be Silver

  6. “and with the first pick in the 2026 NBA draft, the Miami Heat select __________”

    (had to, sorry)

  7. This could get ugly.

The league nor Hornets would ever admit fault and return the draft pick to Miami.

I also don’t think Miami would let this go, especially if the FBI found evidence that Hornets and the league were aware of it and didn’t disclose it to Miami before the trade.

I think Heat sue/threaten to sue the league and Hornets for return of the FRP, in which ends up being settled on 2-3 second round picks.

I also think it gets done in a quiet sweeping manner in which the league doesn’t award the Heat the 2-3 second round picks but rather in hopes to sweep it under the rug, the settlement will be undisclosed to the public, but eventually you’ll see something like they an “official trade” Miami trades some crappy two way player to the Hornets for 3 second round picks.

That’s just my assumption because I don’t see the league publicly saying, yeah we covered it up for our own image and were caught and are 100% at fault, here take a FRP from the Hornets. That would make them look really bad.

  8. Is the next nba draftees any good? I wish NBA do us a solid like how they did with the Mavs lol

  9. It feels like post 2023 finals that whole next season there was a league wide vendetta against us

  10. I want to know what the hornets knew and how this is any different than the information they withheld in the mark williams deal. This is their second fraudulent trade under new ownership and they should be punished for it.

  11. Given the FBI’s evidence against Terry in the indictment, I see two possibilities here.

    1. The league conducted a crappy and limited investigation that cleared Terry so they didn’t feel the need to say anything to Miami because he was cleared. They didn’t have access to the text messages that the FBI got ahold of. Still, like I said yesterday about this, it’s fishy as hell that Terry faked an injury that had him leave a game early, and neither the Hornets nor the league conducted follow-up medical evals that would have shown Terry had no issues? They then have Terry sit out the rest of the season because of a sore foot? That’s super odd and a reason to be suspicious of the league.

    2. I see this version being probable. The league knew Terry was bet rigging, but they know this sort of stuff is rampant and they didn’t want to open pandora’s box. They figured they could sweep this under the rug by clearing Terry on paper, but having him sit out the rest of the season as a sort of informal punishment. If this scenario turns out to be true, then Silver has way bigger issues than the Heat requesting compensation for this. The whole league might be in serious legal jeopardy and he could be criminally liable. In this scenario, I also don’t see how Miami gets compensation. Do they sue the league? Any damages would come in the form of money from the league to Arison. I dont think a court would order us to get a pick back or something.

If I had to guess how this all wraps up, I think Terry is convicted over a year from now when his contract is over, so at that point the whole thing is moot from our perspective, and the league gives us an under the table deal like a more favorable pick selection in the 2026 draft.

  12. The funniest part of all of this is the moron fans saying “da league hates Miami!!!” as if this only would happen to teams the league “hates” and not just any team that traded for Rozier.

  13. Why do I feel like we will get no compensation and we’re just gonna get fucked over

  14. Why wouldn’t the Heat sue the league here? If there’s tangible evidence the Heat have a case

  15. How is this not a bigger news and getting more attention

The NBA and Hornets KNEW and decided to not let the trading partner (Miami) know, even if their investigation concluded he was in the clear. That’s something the league should’ve let Miami know since a FRP and millions of dollars was involved.

  16. its so pissing that Miami is always sidelined and kept in the dark for every single thing just because they are a small market and have high integrity! Just sucks

  17. I dont buy it. You are telling me that this front office, infamous for micromanaging off the court discrepancies, was left in the dark with this info? (Especially a team within close proximity)

I belive Barry is carrying water for the FO and the fact that nothing will come out of this is because the Heat probably was aware of a probe, the nba disclosed this and both parties tried to sweep it under the rug indepently.

On the flip side, this could explain Spo always playing Terry, to pile up on the court evidence of potential live play manipulation by Terry. Now the neck thing seems super bogus all of a sudden

  18. Okay thanks so give us our pick back. If we were Boston or LA they wouldn’t have even let us make that trade

  19. I don’t see an appetite to “make right” with Miami. National media and NBA executives aren’t going to push for it. Remember, a lot of these guys don’t like the city. They have fancy job titles, and in places like New York, that gives them status. Here, we don’t care, we talk down to them, and yeah, sometimes a waiter fucks their wife Add in the bias and racism toward Miami, and there’s zero appetite to give them what they were owed.

  20. I hope the Heat presses the league on this. I’ll be really mad if the FO just lets it go. We got fucked

  21. For all of you getting twisted in knots over what’s transpired over the last two days, remember that the Hornets have new ownership and a completely overhauled front office since Rozier left the team. Silver isn’t going to penalize owners who weren’t even around when Terry played there.

  22. If the heat were trading a first for Rozier; they would have made another stupid trade anyways.

  23. If you don’t think Adam Silver is Anti-Heat, look no further. The fallout of the dame saga had nothing to do with the competence of the front office, and everything to do with Adam and his fraudulent buddies, who gifted Boston a Mickey Mouse championship in the process.

Sometimes I wonder due to Adam’s obsession with “parity”, he has a grudge on the franchise for the big 3 days. Or perhaps we aren’t moving to the new style of basketball every team is playing that he would like.

Who knows man but it’s glaringly obvious now the league is Anti-Heat, and that it’s never been more rigged in todays era

  24. I’m sure the org has lawyers on retainer, and this is sounding like a hefty lawsuit being filed against the NBA.
