Can we stop talking about this. Giannis isn’t a knick. The team we have without him is good. Who cares. Wake me up if we ever trade for him.
Love it, we shouldn’t be entertaining the trade. It’s the weakest link era in the league can’t gut the whole team and win with only 2-3 great players.
They really trying for this lolknicks angle.

Weirdly encouraging lmao
We are good with the roster that we already have
OMG! Like…there are actual grown ups thinking about the team as a whole, and how all the pieces fit together?! They must not have said anything to Dolan!! 😃
I know Brunson is off the table but Towns is like the perfect center next to Giannis
Didn’t the bucks owner literally say that any team that wanted Giannis would have to pay big? I’m sure the Knicks didn’t want to gut the depth they have for Giannis.
Makes sense. Giannis is a ball stopping big. Him and Brunson make less sense together than Brunson and Kat cause of the shooting.
It’s surreal to be in the reality that one of the best players in the NBA only wanted to come to the Knicks when we are in such a good position with leadership that we more or less turned them down. As we go through this season fighting lifted expectations remember how far Rose/Thibs/JB/Randle etc has brought this team. LFGK
We’re in the drivers seat in terms of bargaining given how deep our team is and our recent successes compared to Milwaukee. I’m glad we didn’t gut the entire team for Giannis. This is legitimately the most talented Knicks roster ive seen in the last 20+ years and the east is wide open.
Salute to out front office for having ice in their veins. They didn’t over leverage the franchise future to get Donovan Mitchell or Giannis despite both players wanting to be Knicks. Previous leadership would have given anything just to field a Superstar on a mid team. I fully trust Leon judgement.
Well things go well or when they’re looking up, they have to find ways to get clicks.
Now all of a sudden, a conversation no one knew happened, somehow all the details are out.
Bro idk why everybody acting like we the heat. We are good without Giannis, we don’t need Giannis. If we managed to get a good deal for Giannis then sure, but like, we have a good thing going. Why blow up a finals level roster for a superstar when we already have two superstars and a bunch of great players?
Depth >> top heavy big 3s in 2025
Hang on, did we ask for Ja Rule’s take on the non-starter Giannis shenanigans?
Why are they still wasting the time on this, if he was to be here, he’d be here.
Make your bed before you go on the air. Even in a hotel
He could’ve atleast made the bed
I really HATE these interviews because they just add clickbait shit for ESPN.
Stop being vague and confirm what the exact trade packages were and what the deal offered was? Was it for Giannis and Kuzma for KAT + JB + OG ? Yea, of course we say no to that shit, but it’s spun around like we said “No, we don’t want Giannis” It’s ridiculous and the ambiguity only fuels fans into thinking that. Everyone wants Giannis but the price matters.
I also hate the narrative that people are believing that we don’t have a package anymore because we traded 5 FRP for Mikal. It’s just surface level nonsense and not back by any logical facts or circumstances. Our picks are NOT THAT good outside of our 1st rounders in 2029 and 2031. You think teams are going crazy for Ben Saraf, Nolan Traore or whatever they used our garbage picks on last year? This doesn’t even account for that fact that Milwaukee DOES NOT HAVE their own picks. They can not even tank and shitty picks in the 20s are not going to get Giannis. The only thing that will change this is if Giannis absolutely demands a trade and says he ONLY wants to come here (The Jimmy Butler playbook).
Ideally, they’re going to want quality players and a very good young prospect (someone like Stephon Castle) to build around. I guess it’s easier to just have a doomer mentality and think Knicks are idiots, as opposed to applying logic.
100%. The team needed tweaks and new leadership. We’d have to gut the team and start over again to get Giannis. Trophy or bust in 2026.
I just sincerely appreciate the extent that damn near nobody knows wtf is going on at the team brass level.
Loose lips sink ships.
KAT gets dissed over and over. Dude should take it personally and ball out!
Anybody else insanely annoyed that for years the Knicks were clowned for begging after stars and doing dumb deals, and now that the Knicks aren’t doing those things they’re being criticized for that too?
Cross post to r/nba to have them shut up
Im all for the continuity especially because we have no evidence that Giannis + a ball dominant guard works at a high level. In fact, we have a lot more evidence to the contrary.
Honestly I’m OK with this. I think we have the tools. If we keep tinkering we’re not going to magically find the formula, and most of our team is in their prime now.
It probably would have been too rich of a player package to really make sense.
Think a combination of Kat + OG or Bridges (maybe both?) plus Deuce for Giannis, kuzma, some other scrub(s). Not sure of the exact math.
Team’s depth would be gone. Would essentially be a core of Giannis + Brunson and then a huge dropoff to the next best guys (josh hart?).
If its KAT for Giannis str8 up, sure. Otherwise, Im cool with not sacrificing our depth for him.
Can someone share what a trade deal look like?
if is KAT and Bridges or OG, forget it.
Has to be KAT and lesser pieces
I’m not willing to give up KAT for Giannis. KAT is the better all around player.
Big Dick energy.
“Beat it. We don’t need ya. We’re full.”
They’re favorites in the east, if this was another team we wouldn’t even be talking about it
The same folk that love to question why we wouldn’t want to trade for Giannis would be the FIRST to criticize us for gutting the team to get him, ie Melo.
Anyone would obviously love to have him but trading for him right now would be a bad move. KAT and OG plus other pieces would be the starting point for a deal, and it just doesn’t make sense for the Knicks right now. Yeah you’ll get Giannis to replace OG, but you lose KAT, one of the best floor spacing and rebounding bigs in the world. Ideally you want to pair them together, but I don’t see how to make that happen without involving another team or two.
i don’t fuckin care about giannis tyler kolek and ariel hukporti are getting minutes. i hate how the national media covers this franchise
Great move LEON! The most competent front office of my life time
