Craziest World Series records! (Will these be broken? Gibson’s 17 Ks, Pujols’ 14 total bases, MORE!)

Bunch empty seats down in the lower lower box seats. Somewhat unusual for game number one of a World Series. Smith knocks it down. He’s up. Here’s a throw. It is not in time. Just missing. Base hit. One more run scores. That’s a fifth base hit. And it’s a 10 to nothing ball game. And that’s a World Series record. And it is. Five hits in one game. A new record. Five singles, one run scored. The Rangers fan is thinking I had to watch Puhol have four hits, two home runs. Then he hits me and here goes one into left. How about three on the night in a row. A three-run shot. A two-run home run. And now a solo blast. So now Pucket to start things in the bottom of the eighth inning. Guyedi and Baylor to follow. Ground it through the middle. Herr knocks it down. Has no play. Carl Kolad, the owner of the Minnesota Twins, has just watched Kirby Pucket get his fourth hit. It’s an infield single, four for four plus a walk and gets him on a wonderful play, but the Twins get another run as Pucket crosses the plate. So, Bernansky grounds out but gets an RBI, two down, and it’s 11 to five. Beggy Jackson has seen two pitches in the strike zone tonight. Two and he said both in the seat. Goodbye. Oh, what a float. Reggie Jackson has hit his third home run of the game. Reggie Jackson becomes the second man in World Series history to hit three home runs in a game. And Albert Pools has tied Reggie Jackson with three home runs against the Rangers in game three. Wow. That’s a wow. giving him the silent treatment. That’s the Elre silent treatment. His first three at bats in this World Series and Pablo Sandival looks like the Babe himself has come back to life. Now he joins Babe Ruth as one of only four that have ever hit three home runs in a World Series game. Albert Puho’s last year, Reggie Jackson when he was with the Yankees against the Dodgers. And the babe himself did it twice. Aki Matsui has just hit a two-run home run. A tremendous shot deep to right. A thriller by Godzilla. A two RBI single. Three hits, six RBI’s for Matt Suie in this game. What a performance. Albert Pools, after being hitless through the first two games, is heating up. A base hit. Did the same in the fifth, a three-run rally, and then hit a three-run home run, sixth, and a two-run shot in the seventh. He did it. Albert Pooh just hit his third home run of the game. Loftton’s three for three, pair of singles and a double. A board for the fourth consecutive time as Loftton will receive his third consecutive walk. The last two intentional on the first pitch to flood. There goes Brock again. And he’s safe with a head first lock. And there goes Lou on another steal. He beats the throw easily. In the Cardinals ninth, Lou Brock is in there again for his seventh stolen base of the series. A new record. Once again, a standing ovation. A new World Series record. Just think, he’s accounted for 16 of the put outs all by himself. A new world’s record of 17 strikeouts in one game. Larson is ready. Gets the sign. Two strikes 4-1. Here comes the pitch. Strike three. A no hitter. A perfect game for John Larson. Yogi Vera runs out there. He leaps on Larson and he’s swarmed by his teammates. Listen to this crowd. Roar. The first World Series no hitter. A perfect performance by Don Larrison. The gate has opened in the Giants bullpen and Madison Bumgner makes his entrance here in game seven. The Giants leading three-2 strikes out and Bumgner adds another scoreless inning. MLB record 48 2/3 innings pitch this postseason. Swung on it. B strike three. That felt like the strongest inning yet for Bumgardner. And the magnificent Bumgar writing yet another chapter this time out of the bullpen in his spectacular postseason resume. Well, if you’re a baseball fan, what more do you want than this? It is the bottom of the ninth inning of game seven of the World Series, and it’s a one-run game, and the Giants ace of aces this postseason. Madison Bump Runner is still in this game in relief. Sandival in foul territory. Giants win. A World Series win for the San Francisco Giants. And Madison Buggner has firmly etched his name on the all-time World Series record books as one of the greatest World Series pitchers the game has ever seen.

Bob Gibson’s 17-strikeout game, Albert Pujols’ 14 total bases and Madison Bumgarner’s five-inning save are among some of the craziest records in World Series history.
