TUESDAY THE 4TH AT 4 PM EASTERN IF JJ MCCARTHY PLAYS AGAINST THE LIONS AND FACE PLANTS, THE WAY THAT CARSON WENTZ DID LAST NIGHT, THAT’S WHEN YOU HAVE TO ASK HERE? OR ARE WE GOING TO TRY TO SALVAGE THIS SEASON AND COULD WE KIRKO CHAINS BRING? WE KNOW THAT THERE’S NO 1 ELSE, THAT’S EVEN WHISPERED THE HIM. IT WOULD TAKE US A SEASON ENDING INJURY, TO A QUARTERBACK ON A TEAM THAT WOULD NOT GO NEXT MAN UP THAT WOULD SAY WE WANT TO ACTIVATE THE KIRK COUSINS OPTION BUT HE KNOWS THE OFFENSE. HE KNOWS MUCH OF THE PERSONNEL. HE KNOWS MUCH OF THE COACHING STAFF. IF IF MCCARTHY WILL PLAY SO IF HE IS JUST ABYSMAL, IF IT’S THE 3 QUARTERS AGAINST THE BEARS WITHOUT WAKING UP IN THE FOURTH AND YOU DID AGAINST THE BEARS. FOR 3 QUARTERS AGAINST THE LIONS, THE FOURTH QUARTER AIN’T GOING TO FOURTH QUARTER IS GOING TO BE AS IRRELEVANT AS LAST NIGHT, SO IF THAT’S THE 1 CAVE TO MY GO AHEAD AND RIDE WITH JJ MCCARTHY AND SEE WHAT YOU HAVE. IF IT IS JUST A DISASTER. MAYBE YOU ACTIVATE THE COUSIN’S OPTION. YOU KEEP JJ MCCARTHY. HE’S UNDER CONTRACT FOR 2 MORE YEARS. YOU FIND A VETERAN QUARTERBACK FOR 2026 TO COMPETE. IF NOT SUPPLANT JUST LIKE THE COLTS DID. THE COLTS AFTER 2 SEASONS WITH ANTHONY RICHARDSON, WERE WILLING TO SAY, HEY, DANIEL JONES, WINK. WINK, NOD NOD. I GOT THOSE RIGHT. YOU COME HERE, YOU’RE GONNA HAVE A CHANCE TO BE THE STARTER. IT’S GOING TO BE YOUR JOB TO LOSE AND LOOK AT WHERE THEY ARE AND DANIEL VIKINGS HAD DANIEL JONES. THE VIKINGS LIKE DANIEL JONES AND YOU KNOW, HINDSIGHT’S 2020, THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT DANIEL JONES. NOW, SAM DARNOLD, THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT DANIEL BUT I I DON’T KNOW, MIKE, I THINK IF YOU IF YOU, IF YOU MOVE ON FROM, IF YOU MOVE ON FROM COUSINS, YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE DOING? UH, YES, HE WAS HURT BUT YOU KNEW WHAT YOU HAD AND COUSINS. THEN YOU LOOK AT YOUR OPTIONS IN THE DRAFT. MAYBE YOU SAY, LOOK, WITH SOME SOME OF THE ROUGH EDGES OF JJ MCCARTHY, WE NEED TO DEVELOP A QUARTERBACK. WHEN I HEARD YOU SAY IT A WHILE AGO, I WAS LIKE, WOW. IS THAT RIGHT? I I REMEMBER YOU SAYING THAT THAT, THAT THE VIKINGS HADN’T DRAFTED, UH, THEY HAVEN’T DRAFTED MANY FIRST ROUND QUARTERBACKS, UH, IN THEIR HISTORY. AND SO, AND YOU LOOK BACK AT SOME OF THEIR, UH, DRAFT PICKS. AND HOW THEY’VE YOU KNOW THEY’VE DONE WELL IN THE DRAFT, BUT THEY, THIS IS A POSITION THAT HISTORICALLY, THEY HAVEN’T REALLY SAID. WE’RE GOING TO INVEST HERE. WE’RE GOING TO SPEND 5 10 YEARS. WITH THIS GUY, THIS IS GOING TO BE OUR GUY AND THIS IS A SITUATION, AND EVEN IF HE LOOKS, IF HE DOESN’T LOOK GREAT AGAINST DETROIT, UH, IF HE HAS A GAME WHERE HE THROWS 2 OR 3 INTERCEPTIONS, I THINK YOU HAVE TO STICK WITH THEM BECAUSE JUST GOING BACK TO A KIRK COUSINS OR ANY OTHER VETERAN QUARTERBACK, WHO CAN GET YOU THROUGH A COUPLE OF GAMES OR GET YOU THROUGH A SEASON. IS NOT REALLY THE THAT’S NOT INVESTING. I THINK YOU GOT TO INVEST IN JJ MCCARTHY AND LIVE WITH IT. I I DON’T DISAGREE WITH THAT BUT THE GAME IS FAR DIFFERENT THAN IT WAS WHEN YOU AND I BOTH DISCOVERED IT, IT’S QUARTERBACKS DECLARE THEMSELVES AS POTENTIALLY, GREAT EARLY, OR THEY DON’T NOW FOR SOME TEAMS LIKE THE JETS IN THE BROWNS, THEY GET TOO IMPATIENT AND I GUESS THAT’S WHAT THE VIKINGS HAVE TO ASK THEMSELVES. THERE ARE DIFFERENT WAYS. THEY COULD BE LIKE THE JETS, THE BROWNS, THE DOLPHINS, THE TITANS, THE DYSFUNCTIONAL TEAMS IN THE NFL, CURRENTLY, THEY COULD JOIN THAT CROWD. BECAUSE IF YOU CLING THE JJ MCCARTHY, TOO LONG, YOUR DYSFUNCTIONAL, IF YOU GIVE UP ON HIM TOO EARLY, YOU’RE DYSFUNCTIONAL, THERE’S A SWEET SPOT THERE. AND I’M NOT SURE WHERE IT IS. I’M NOT SURE WHETHER IT’S THE REST OF THIS YEAR. OR WHETHER IT’S THE REST OF THIS YEAR AND NEXT YEAR, I DON’T KNOW, I DON’T KNOW. BUT FIGURE OUT. AND THEY HAVE BEEN HESITANT WITH HIM. THERE HAS BEEN THIS SENSE OF SOFTENING IT AGAIN. HE’S BEEN HEALTHY ENOUGH TO PLAY THE LAST 2 WEEKS BECAUSE HE’S BEEN CLEARED TO BE THE NUMBER UNIFORM. SO, WE’LL SEE, WE’LL FIND OUT IN 9 DAYS WHEN THE VIKINGS GO TO DETROIT AND IF THEY COULD GO THERE AND BEAT THE LIONS OR AT LEAST KEEP IT CLOSED, MAYBE THAT CHANGES

  4. The Vikings are teaching every other team a valuable lesson. It doesn’t matter if you took a guy at 10 or 11 whatever it is. You stick with the guy that you KNOW can play . They probably could’ve traded JJ to a Qb needy team before the draft. For a decent return. Now it is just a matter of how long do they waste on him before accepting you made a mistake a move on. I say you give him the the rest of this season and if it’s ugly . You just gotta rip that band aid off immediately and draft another asap.

  9. It’s over had they chance koc picked JJ and unfortunately he suffered an injury and that’s what happens if JJ can’t salvage it then I cannot see koc surviving and he ends up in Vegas with Brady and maybe get a chance at a top qb to pair with jenty

  12. This looks like a rerun of the Vikings 1984 season. It’s entirely possible the Vikings win five or fewer games this season. The Vikings have a serious lack of homegrown talent. They are so opposite of what the great teams are because the great teams draft well. This past offseason is looking like an epic disaster.

  14. Stop making this a QB thing. There are so many more problems than that…it would be wasting cap they don’t have for not much better result with the Oline injuries and the defense struggles.

  18. I think MIN should trade for Brock Purdy. McCarthy could be a QB2/project for SF. Both teams could get out of an awkward QB situation they're both in. Mac Jones would be a much lower-priced QB1 than Purdy, and Purdy would still get his back pay for when he helped SF reach the Super Bowl, etc. Also, SF would get good value for Purdy: he was the last person drafted, and SF might be able to get both McCarthy and at least a third-round (or maybe a second-round) draft pick for Purdy.

  20. Kwesi missed on 2 round 1 draft picks in 2024. Let a very solid safety walk on a 4 year $60 to colts along with Daniel Jones, 1 year $14m. Cause he and KOC were so arrogant with JJ.

  27. I don’t claim to know more about football than Florio however we need to address this porous interior OL. Right now we could have the second coming of Tarkenton, Moon, or Cunningham and with next to zero pass protection it would make no difference.

  29. I loved Cousins when he was here. VERY accurate QB. However this would now be a massive mistake. It would make them seem desperate and unorganized. Plus the cap hit etc. Bad decision.

  31. I say tank if JJ looks as bad as he did those first two games or gets hurt again, they made the decision to pass on plenty of good options at quarterback at the beginning of the season. If JJ doesn’t show himself to be the guy we need to put ourselves in a position to try again rather than win a few meaningless games just to miss the playoffs and the chance to draft someone better.

  32. If an offensive line can get you 3.5 yards per [rushing] play then you will win the game… Vikings have THE WORST O-line due to MANY injuries. The starters haven't even played ONE snap together…
    I suspect KOC is trying his best to get everyone healthy for that game which is only the SECOND divisional game of the schedule (currently 1-0 thanks to JJ and Co.)

  36. What is the point of bringing in Cousins, he might be your backup/starter at a low-price next year. He will not deliver any more than his last season, maybe a playoff loss, he isn't as good as 2 years ago.
