Why did the mod delete the first one?
This puts us top of the league with the most European players on an NHL roster
I actually like the gamble. Former 1st round pick with potential.
I KNEW IT
We’ve upgraded from trading 2nds for poor performers to trading 4ths. Progress!
Is he good? 4 points in 5 games this year
Nice! We had been linked to him for a while. For a mid round pick cannot go wrong
He’s had a solid start to the year and the price isn’t bad.
Really good to throw a flier on a forever 17th overall?
With how hurt our forward group is right now I imagine we see him very soon in the line up.
I like this trade. Former first rounder.
4th round draft picks seems to be our currency of choice.
My Hawks fan friends are panicking and are devastated by this news. Hope we fleeced the Hawks and he thrives here.
4th round pick for a 1st round 17th overall player. From a Blackhawks fan’s comment in the r/hockey thread, Reichel has speed and skill but lacks finish and defence.
Fun fact: Kirk McLean’s save in Game 7 OT against Calgary was against Robert Reichel, Lukas’s uncle
I think they spelled Connor Bedard wrong
Now Bedard you cowards
We have a Jack (r)Eichel at home!
I mean it’s only a 2027 4th round pick. Not necessarily going to fix anything but a fantastic gamble for a fast young player.
Just looking up some of his basic stat lines. 3 points came in that blow out 8-3 win against Blues and he seems to be not averaging much ice time in Chicago… hopefully this is a change of scenery situation.. we def need more speed on the wings! Almost feels like. Lekkeramaki replacement in the middle 6
Glad they did this instead of giving up something more for Zacha/kadri/wennberg
low risk high reward
High skill guy, struggles on the D side, sounds like a good winger for Petey maybe.
Reichel legit has talent, and is a great skater. Though he has struggled to produce on the Hawks.
Basically the reverse of the Podkolzin trade. Worth a shot!
he’s at 4pts over 5 game but playing 9 minutes a game with 22% OISH% and 100% IPP, normalized to median he would have 2 pts in 5 games, not bad but he’s been healthy scratched 3 games.
I think hawks subreddit opinion on him is mixed, he has high potential but too inconsistent to show it
Reichel wants to play in the same city as Thomas muller
2027 4th is absolutely worth giving up to give this a try. You never know what a new environment can do for a player. I’m down to see how it goes.
Solid trade
Fuck it why not
This is a great deal for us. Obviously if he hits, we are fucking laughing. But even if he just maintains, we paid no more than a 4th for a cheap top-6 stopgap—which is exactly what we need right now.
the hawks are the second team i follow and i have to say i really like this trade. i’m a bit surprised since last game he was moved to the first line because of how he had been producing in a bottom 6 role. i really thought blashill was giving him a last chance but regardless of what team he plays for, reichel has a lot of potential he just needs to play at a high level consistently. i’m not 100% confident he’ll pan out for the canucks but it’s a gamble i’m ok with.
Hasn’t stepped on the ice in a Canucks uniform and people already hating how he plays. Sometimes I think we might be the issue here
Come on be the next Naslund!

Fun fact: when drafted he said he models his game after Elias Pettersson (f)
as a hawks fan… please take good care of our boy guys 🩷🩷🥺
