[Schefter] 49ers ruled out Brock Purdy (toe) and Ricky Pearsall (knee) for Sunday’s game at Houston. Mac Jones starts again.

  2. Mac had proven more than capable. No need to see Purdy until the absolute last second to make sure he’s not just going to re injur it. I’m really wanting Ricky back though that boy is going to be a star.

  4. He’d be back already if our dumb ass training staff and doctors didn’t bring him back injured so early for the jags game. 

  5. I’m really not likening the lack of news around Pearsall. At this point I would have felt better if he was put on IR.

  10. What is the deal with Pearsall am I crazy or has it been somewhat obscure what the issue is?

  11. I haven’t kept up on the news, but I initially thought Pearsall was having some kind of soreness with his knee, but all these absences make it obvious he’s going through something way worse. What could sideline him for so long?

  14. Pearsall just seems to have an injury bug, hopefully this is something that goes away in year 3.

  15. whatever as long as Brock comes back feeling like he’s him. but it’s annoying how we have a bad injury bug this season

  16. This might be ultra pessimistic but any more success we get this season are all added bonuses. My only true hope and goal is for us to not lose any more core players to any injuries moving forward specifically CMC. The fact that he is getting absolutely worked like a horse while he himself is coming off an injury riddled season + calf issues prior to week 1 has me so damn worried especially as we have the damn turf game coming up. Again, it’s 100% me being traumatized from Bosa and Fred this season but fuck me man I don’t know what i’d do if we lost one more starter to a season ender.

  17. What I want to know is WHO APPROVED PURDY TO PLAY THE JAGS GAME like clearly it’s a pretty serious injury yet we let him play that game

  19. At this point, it seems like Slick Rick definitely tore the PCL and/or other ligaments in his knee worse than previously thought. He hasn’t practiced in over a month….get well Sl1cky!

  22. we’re going to have to draft WR again. Cowing/Watkins done nothing, Pearsall injury prone, Jennings on his way out, and Aiyuk hasn’t played a snap in a year.

  27. niners are great at hiding injury severity (see mcaffrey last season), so i honestly wouldn’t be surprised if these injuries are worse than described. ricky might be out a lot longer and purdy’s injury might be more like burrow’s than we thought

  28. They just don’t want to close up those IR spots so soon in the season but Purdy & Ricky is way worse than it seems.

  37. Honestly, give Purdy, Pearsall and whoever else is injured as much time as necessary. The current team has shown to be very good (However, let’s not get too comfortable)! I think that we will be fine for the most part!

  38. I know the answer is no but, if we end up 7-2 by the time Purdy is healthy does the thought cross Shanny’s mind to roll with the hot hand in Mac?
