Jaylen Waddle, Calvin Ridley, and Jakobi Meyers

Thoughts?

  1. I doubt Waddle gets traded because his dead cap is nuts. Ridley and Meyers seem like good moves because they help you now and in 26 with whatever rookie we draft.

  2. I kinda suspected Ridley could be a target. I think he’s overrated as a WR1, but he could be useful as a DK complement

  3. Jakobi has been my guy all along. Waddle is a speed demon (and I keep hearing that’s what the team is after), but it just doesn’t compute to me, considering that’s legitimately all we have at the moment. Tennessee seems to have ruined Ridley, but who knows, maybe a change of scenery would help him return to form.

  4. I think that Waddle would cost too much and I don’t see Ridley as a guy that solves our problems, but I’d happily entertain a trade for Meyers.

  5. I liked Ridley a lot when he came into the league. He would have been great with Roethlisberger. Enough with the over 30 crowd. It’s affecting our performance in night games.

  6. Umm, my thoughts are that I’m tired of hearing about who they may or may not trade for at WR for two years. Just fucking let it rip on someone actually good and get it done or please dear god Steelers, stop putting it out there or squash the rumors. Just pick a lane and be done.

  7. It would be cool to get another WR don’t get me wrong but man I don’t think that move the needle at all. If we wanna compete then we need the guys already here to start playing consistently high level football on offense but mainly D.

  8. I doubt we make a move now. But if we do, people are gonna complain about DK, Jonnu, Muth getting even less targets.

  9. Ridley is too much like DK. We need someone to compliment that skillset with better underneath and middle of the field routes. Jakobi is the guy. DK, Meyers and CA3 is a sneaky good WR trio in this scheme.

  10. Titans fan here, I think Ridley might work with you guys. Ridley is VERY drop prone, when he’s hot, he’s hot, but when he’s cold, he’ll drop every single game winning pass and you will HATE him, but I think someone like Rodgers would be able to get his head on straight to stop dropping passes.

The Jags warned us about him when we signed him and most Jags fans were glad to have gotten rid of him. If you’re gonna get him from us, you better hope your FO gets you a good deal.

We have very little dead cap on the third year so it’s no skin off our backs. I think part of the problem is our rookie QB has a bazooka of an arm that he has trouble controlling, so he often throws to his receivers *way* too hot, which can cause drops.

On the other hand, Rodgers would work really well with Ridley since his arm is still good, and most importantly, he’s able to CONTROL it. But again, don’t overpay for him, our former GM leaving a third year out in case it got bad was one of the few smartest things he did. Maybe you guys will be able to coach the drop tendencies outta him.

He’d do well as a WR 2, but his upside is WR1, but you are still going to have to look for a future rookie WR1 whether you sign Ridley or not.
