The Brutal TRUTH About Nazem Kadri And The Calgary Flames 🚨 | FN Barn Burner

you you got to be a little cutthroat here if you’re Craig Conroy and have some tough decisions and have some or tough discussions and conversations with people. It’s like I like kind of like okay but here’s what the Calgary Flames need be damned like you talk in five years here’s what here’s where we want to be here’s where we need to be and I think they’ve got that plan and there are steps that we need to take in order to get there or close to it. So Bobby brought it up last night on afterburner. Nazam Codri has a full no move this year. On July one that turns to a 13 team no trade list. Nasam has never uttered the word trade. Nauseam has never suggested he’d like to be somewhere else. Nasim coder’s been a great flame aside from year one with with Sutter when it was clear they weren’t on the same page. Nazam Cod has been a great flam. I feel for him because all this dialogue about trade and NASA. He’s like, I’ve never once said I’m not happy here, but what hasn’t been talked about is what is going to happen in November and December where it is so clearly obvious that on the rest of his contract this will not be a playoff team. That’s a conversation that Nasm has to initiate. He’s got the no move this year. And then if it’s like, well, I only go to one place, it’s like, okay, well then we’ll just wait till July one and then we could trade it to 20 19 other teams. So, one thing that I’ve never really been able to understand or appreciate, I guess, is the trepidation that there seems to be for a team to approach a player to discuss potentially moving or waving their no move. Like it’s like with the Marstrom thing, it was so delicate and then he got feelings hurt. Delicate flowers. This is just BS. Oh, we can’t even have a test. Like, can you not sit down with Nas and Cadrey after a whatever? Have a steak and be like, “So, dude, what are we going to do?” Like, this is really looking What do we want? Like we we could probably get a hall for you, but what do you want to do? Yeah. You Yes, he can do that. I guarantee you if Connie wanted to go have a steak with Kadri, he’s mature enough and veteran enough to go, “Yeah, let’s go for a steak and have a bullshit.” Do you need the agent there? Like I don’t No, no. I I think it’s more of the Okay, so you let’s It’s still only October 23rd. You can have that chat, but like what are the reverberations through the Weaguer, Backlin, the kids, Wolf, when it’s like, “Oh, Connie and Cadre went and they talked about a trade.” Like we are that bad. Well, But you’re all standings. It’s all Yeah. And are you all that soft that you can’t real You can’t see the st hopefully Sean O’Brien’s not putting those standings up on the wall. Sean, take them down because we don’t want to be We love the standings and we’re good. Take them down. We’re back. Let’s not be depressed. Obie loves Roberts by the way. That’s his favorite spot. He really in Nashville. Yeah. Talking about Gary Roberts. I loved him too. But it goes back to the mental uh softness. I’m not even going to call it toughness because there isn’t enough of it that you’re saying that if there I just wonder I don’t I’ve never been a player I’m not questioning your this age of player is different than I agree 100% when we were treated differently and for good or for worse I don’t know but good god if you fall apart because one of your players has a coffee with your GM she cuz you talk about you’re going to get worse you showed the roster there and it’s okay who’s going to be on this team in five years or whatever. Mhm. Nazam Cadri to me would be such a there’d be a sweep stakes a center with his ability and even though he’s not got points to back it up so far everyone knows what’s going on. This guy would be huge. You can easily envision a scenario where what you get in a trade is a cornerstone piece of your franchise for the next 10 12 or more years. So the Leafs traded for uh Carlo at the deadline last year. They gave upra who was one of their top two prospects and a firstrounder. Like we’re talking about Nazare number two center. We’re not talking about a big right shot second pair guy. This this is a huge commod. you know, it’s salary and term and age, but still like right now today, Nazum Codri would help a lot of contenders by upgrading their second line center. Fact and he’s won and he’s coming off a 30. It’s just but and I feel for Nas because he hasn’t said a word and this is the dialogue that’s going to be happening. You know what? That’s part of it. That that’s part of your job description. Like I don’t feel sorry for it. You’re making seven million. You’re an athlete. People are going to boo you, say that you suck, say you’re great, all of that. And they might talk about you getting traded. That’s part of that job. Um, the hardest part, I’ll be honest with you, because we went through it, is when you start getting older and your play isn’t as good and you go from being you’re revered as real an integral piece of the puzzle. Mhm. to having that criticism and having that negative vibe around you. And the shitty part is that’s just part that’s the reality of the sport in the world you’re living in and it’s hard on the ego and it sucks. It’s hardilies around in a bar two years earlier. It was I was leaving a bar one night a couple years after we went to the finals. Warner, you’re all washed up now. It sounds stupid, but yeah, it’s like happens quick. That’s how quick it turns. And you know what? Dude wasn’t wrong. And here’s the thing, like we just talked about it. Like Michael Bland was getting Selki votes a few years ago. He’s now looking like one of their worst six forwards. Yeah. It happens to everyone. Mariano went from a Norris to like h PTO. Like it’s it happens to everyone. Everyone. Yeah. And the it it’s so mindshattering and h happens so quickly like it’s overnight. You go from being revered to being ostracized and criticized. Yeah. And it sucks. It’s what you trade for the lifestyle and the money and the stardom. It’s not fair, but it comes with the deal. But that’s where you have to That’s the perspective. That is Yes. Someone needs to sit down with these guys. That’s This isn’t part of it, man. You don’t This is part of it. Yeah. Unless you’re Ray Bourc and Sack and Eerman and you’re walking out on top. Hey buddies, thanks for watching. We appreciate it. Also, if you could throw in a like and subscribe, it does help us out with what it is we are doing. And check out more at flamesnation.ca.

Boomer, Pinder, and Rhett break down why it’s time for the Calgary Flames to move on from Nazem Kadri. The guys debate what a Kadri trade could look like, why his value is peaking, and why this team just isn’t good enough to keep pretending otherwise. It’s time to cash in — and fast.

  1. These goofs overlook one big god damn thing Murray Edward’s doesn’t want to trade him lol and guess who conroy reports to omg no way it’s edwards

  2. why is everyone so freakin surprised. All summer we read Conroy soghned this guy Conroy sighned that guy.In reality he did nothin just like the owner wants. He's a total yes man to "Run this team as cheaply as you can fans will show anyway"

  3. Soooo if we’re tanking this season who are we cheering for this season lol

Personally for me I’m cheering for Buffalo, Utah, Detroit and anyone playing against the Oilers.

  4. Maybe Kadri hasn’t “said” anything about wanting out , but sometimes actions speak louder than words. If you remember , he wasn’t available for year end media availability after last season ended because he was sick. If you noticed , he also didn’t attend the yearly Flames golf tournament because he was sick , and in the process , missed an important start of the year team bonding ritual. He also made a strange statement during the off-season when confronted about the possibility of being traded. I don’t remember his exact words , but I know he didn’t exactly shut down the conversation by saying he’s happy in Calgary and wants to stay.

  5. As a Canucks fan I do NOT want him. He is a chea player. Take last nights game, he flops on every hit and not like other players do, he stops player when he thinks he has been penalized, he falls down and slides across the ice. Yeah no thankyou

  6. Again the flame suck again… I have tickets for 3 games…. And I'm not getting any more tickets this year…. Losers losers losers.. they make more money when year that I made him I whole working career and they get on the ice and they play like the triple AAA club..

  7. Kadri won't fetch much in a trade. No contending teams needs a #2 center and no middling team needs an aging Kadri with his remaining term and cap hit. Treliving possibly would do Calgary a favor and take Kadri for next to nothing but who else?

  8. The Raptors, two seasons ago, in regular-season play going into their final December game, had put up a record of 12–19 including, during that month, of 3–9, having lost their most recent game gnarly to the Boston Celtics and would go onto narrowly lose that final game of that month to a Ben struggling Detroit Pistons team that any good NBA team would’ve absolutely dominated. But those were the Raptors, with all their issues even with, going into the December trade of OG Anunoby, a core piece from the Raptors’ 2019 championship team. January would feature a trade of Pasco Siko, another core piece from the Raptors 2019 championship team. If the Raptors weren’t doing well with Anunoby or Siakam, why keep them when their contracts had been set to expire the upcoming June? One can definitely debate whether the Raptors got enough quality players and draft picks from those trades but what if they’d kept those two players and risk letting them walk for nothing? That Raptors’ team was broken just as this season‘s Flames’ team is.

  9. As living through the decade of doom in Edmonton, I feel your pain.
Once you hit rock bottom, there’s only one way to go up. I feel bad for Dustin Wolf signs a long term contract and is in for many years of pain with his club. 🤦🏼‍♂️😞
