Winnipeg Jets vs. Calgary Flames – Game Highlights

Forwards for the Jets against the Cadri line. Flurry and Pon together and away we go from Canada Life Center off the skate of Dlo. Now Backlin to the blue line. Hanley to correct penalty over. That shot by Bland is blocked. Calvary for one of the power play. Knocked down. Good play on the far boards by Frost who has it. Gives it to Perk. Nazam Cadry to Perk. Back for Frost. Cadry one-time and he scores. A heavy blast by Cadri. A power play goal and it’s one- nothing Cadry. It took a laser and this was perfectly placed from Cadri to won 11 straight power play opportunities over the last two plus games without finding the back of the net. But this is crisp. This is excellent puck movement. And it’s always dangerous when a team can move the puck and then break a seam right through the middle of the ice. That’s one that the penalty kill will look at and try to solve. if you want to. I wonder if that’s something that even crosses their mind. They’ll never admit it, but nonetheless, it’s a big deal. Correct. Threw it to front of the net. Loose puck. Hanley shoots. He ran it off the iron and they pick those up and out of play. Two straight crossbarss for Calgary. More dangerous areas of the ice. So, it’ll be Taves with Chibricov and Afal to face off against Cadri’s line in the Jets control. claims making a threeperson change. Shley dropped pass. Connor faked one of his own. Kyle Connor shot big rebound. Shley with a backhander and Wolfe made the save from Coleman and then it’s Shely that enters the zone and good evasive maneuvers from Connor. Shoots it from a sharp angle and it’s a good little play from Weaguer on the back door. The rebound is there and it’s a juicy one for Mark Shipley. Sari the move threw it to the front beam was there. His shot attempt was blocked and the Jets get the puck back. Morsy accepts that pass. Two on one coming two on two rather. Nice move by Josh Morrisy. He comes in corner scores. Ties it in one. Four on four for 44. This is just brilliant. Look at the way course he prances around McKenzie Wager. That’s not easy to do. And he turns a twoon two to a twoon one. Look at the eyes. He’s licking shot. He’s showing shot and a no look pass into the strike zone for Kyle Connor. Yeah, he displayed a lot of what Josh Morsy is all about in that one play. Gather the puck without breaking stride, mobility, edge work. It’s henry pass. Te scores his first as a Winnipeg Jet here at Canada Life Center and his second overall of the season. And it’s two to one. A clean faceoff win. And we were just talking about Josh and his mobility on Q. A faceoff strike from Taves. And Josh Morsy standing downhill. Look at Taves. He shows his straight to the net. So he goes into the crease unimpeded. Does he make contact or get in the way of Dustin? Well, I think if they’re unsure, they always side with the goalender on these ones. Oh boy. Oh, after Calgary’s challenge for goalie interference, the call on the ice stands. Goal. Good goal. Planet block. Shley to Nyquist at the line. Shoots. Gets blocked. It goes right to Moresy. fans really coming to life now. Morrisy fires a heavy shot. He missed. Back attempt by Ayafalo. He’ll move it immediately to Ayafalo who backs it up. Morsy to Valardi. Back for Josh Morice. Shley threw it through. Valardi with a quick backer and he scores. There it is. The first of the season for Gabrieli and it’s three to one. Well, one thing that doesn’t surprise you at all is where this goal comes from. This is where Gabriel Valardi does some of his best work. Nice job, I follow to be a disruption and then good timing to arrive at the right time. Valardi that cuts through the middle of your screen. I think this one may have surprised. Six and a half to go in the second. Valardi gets a stick on it. Gabriel Valardi steps to the net. pass or maybe trying to backhand it past Wolfe, but he this morning is he wants Valardi to to be heavier and he wants him to be more intent on getting to the middle of the ice and getting to the net. So you win a battle, you help win a battle on the half wall. Where’s your first step to the net and that’s excellent. He was at the net when he jammed that first one in and he goes right to Dustin Wolf and challenges him once more time on the back hand. Gave it to Jonathan Taves. I’m sure he feels great about being able to play with Taz as a youngster. Speaking of Chibraovac Nicole, open is Packlin walking in. Backlin scores. Nice moves by Packlin. And once again, it’s a onegoal game. [Applause] Yeah, a good read defensively here from the Calgary Flames. It was a little chip play from low to high from Caves trying to find Miller and Backlin skates onto a puck that was jarred loose right from the defensive zone and then the Flames get going the other way. Look at that little backhand pass from Coleman as he pulls Stanley with him to the outside. That’ll three to two now. Good play by Weer to knock that out of the air. Cadri takes the puck. He had the game’s first goal. He finds Jake Bean. Shoots. Knocked away by Conry. Rebound. makes a good save on Coronado as the Flames get to the front of the goal. Valardi threw it toward the end boards. Gabriel Balardi finds it at the hash marks. Sets it up. Connor quick release now. Shot right on. Working against Miller. He tried to cycle it. Hit the ref. Zary keeping it from Gibbreov. Now a shot by Far Red on rebound. Zary is stopped if you don’t get the rhythm. But a nice job from Comry Harris. Calgary is not going to go away. This is a nice little eye up exchange of grout for the Flames out of the corner and then quickly they find a way to the middle of the ice. A good push from Conry. Look at the way he just stays on his feet. Got a skate on it. It got to the boards and Connor backhand pass trying to shovel it through to Shley. The big looking for another power play goal. Shley down to Valardi out front. He sets it up and follow scores. A sublime pass from Valardi and Ayafo’s goal makes it 4-2 of Gabriel Valardi. You cannot predict what he’s going to do. He He can shoot it. He can fire it to the back post or he can make a pass just like that. This is just brilliant. I think this might be Josh Borsy’s fourth point of this period. What a great play from Valardi and to be able to roughing penalty at the 20inut mark called against Nonita Rider and the third period has begun as the Flames very much in need of a power play goal. We’ve talked several times about their inability to score this year. Discipline put the Jets to the power play. This is their sixth power play coming up by the way for Jets in two seconds. And now Valardi looking for Connor Shalardi in front. Originally it was Shley who threw it to the front of the net and got it to Connor. Throws it Rick wide shot just missed glove side. It was taken by the captain Backland. He’s got it again. Calgary threatening to make it a onegoal game once more. Ball off the skate of Backland’s behind it and out front. They score. Coleman left unchecked and it’s four to three. make a mistake. This is a good job from the Flames where they kind of hem the top line in defensively after these guys spent so much time in the offensive zone. I think they were on a gas. They didn’t have much left in the tank. And a beautiful pass from Backlin who gets to that puck first. And uh-oh, a little bit of puck watching there. And Blake Coleman gets his third goal of the season. This is fished at by Connor. Cadry has it back to the line. Clapka to ball. Uber knocked down the front. Big rebound Anderson. Penalty coming up to the Jets. So here it is again. Net front. That cross check because it’s so high up around the name bar of Hubo. He quickly goes down on Calvary bench. All screaming in unison calling for the power play. They get it. Oh, look how close that one glances off of the ear of Comry and on the outside of the Maybe a chance. A breakaway shorthanded. Cole Kempy alone shot stopped by Wolf. Oh Key could have put it away there. You would think of now asam Cadry to McKenzie Wager. Can the Jets finish this one off? Wager to Cadri. Shot. Sharon Gish. It just got away from him. Emptied it and Damasov scores. He didn’t miss that one. Vlad domestic 53. [Applause] Vlad domestic on his second opportunity at the empty net. A shot attempt from Cadri. The Jets find a way to get in front of it. Block it and into the hand. His third of the season. It was questionable for a while. Would the Jets be able to hang on, but they did. They’re back in the win column and they beat the Flames 5-3.

  1. i see the mentality is the problem that the Flames are in last place. Most owners would have had a new couch by now, rebuilt the team in Saskatchewan new head coach, and a new city, new money coming in to the team filling the empty seats. Calgary has never filled up The only time they fill the seats is when it was Stampede wrestling lol

  2. I was at the game tonight, my first Jet's game since '95 when Mom took me. Was quite possibly the best night of my life in the past 15 years. Rewatching on TSN right now before its skipped over…cheers boys and thank you ever so much.
