Miami Heat HAMMER The Grizzlies For First Win Of Season | Bam Adebayo Leads The Way w/ 24 Points
Welcome on in guys. Tobin here with you coming on after your Miami Heat for the first time since April 18th. Victorious over the Memphis Grizzlies. Beat them down. Be bare season. Two tickets to blowout city. beat him 146 to 114. The third most points in franchise freaking history. What a performance today by the Heat. An absolute beatd down on Memphis. And it started early and I got to say what a response today by the captain Bam Adabio. Absolute absolute gem performance. You know, every single time he takes on Jiren Jackson Jr., it’s a little personal for the captain. All right. It’s got it’s just a just a little thing that just, you know, just doesn’t sit right with him that Triple J has got a deep sitting at home and Bamabio does not have that elusive award. and you know that he thinks in his heart of hearts and knows in his heart of hearts that he’s not only a better defender but a better player than Jiren Jackson Jr. and he absolutely took those Grizzlies to the woodshed today. He came out in this game absolutely raining threes. Four threepointers from downtown from Bam Adabio today. And Eric Spolstra, I should mention out of the shoot here, making a little switcheroo in the starting lineup. And it paid off as he decided to make the switch to Kel Wear in the starting lineup. After not putting the warehouse in there for only 13 minutes in game one, he decides to get him in the starting lineup. Put Nicola Yoic back in the reserve role that he was flourishing in before he broke his hand last year. And man, the Heat just came out humming in this performance right away. I mean, it was really something. I mean, right away, beautiful setup by DaVon Mitchell, who has really done just a marvelous job as as a true point guard to start things off. Some questions, hey, is he just a defensive stopper? Man, he’s done a TR so good getting his teammates set up, get everybody in the right place, making the right decisions, still defending like a demon. Uh he his his night’s going to go very quiet today, but a little shout out to Off Knight because I thought um you know he’s been he’s been pretty tremendous with his setups for his teammates. His lobs have looked pretty. Really really nice night from off night, but uh the quietest scoring out of everybody other than Jir Young. He only had two points tonight, but seven assists from DaVon Mitchell. And man, it was uh it was really something. Bab bam hitting these threes right off the bat and he he just got on an absolute freaking heater on this game and it was pretty much you know a back and forth in the early going on this lot of great hustle from the Miami Heat. a lot of great second chance points, but Bam Adabio, I mean, he hits his third three-pointer today. Puts the Heat up 20-6 and you’re just like, man, he is absolutely cooking with confidence on that shot. He uh but the I think you look at like really the turning point of the game, he hits his uh he gets on Jiren Jackson Jr. defending it up, ding him up straight up and Triple J airballs like a little a little hook shot, hits nothing, ends up in the hands of Bama Bio and he lights up another one from downtown. His fourth, which I believe was a careerhigh in a quarter. He uh he has 18 points in the early going 18 of Miami’s 25 points. comes back, forces another Jackson Jr. miss, and then he takes the heat check. I mean, he was absolutely just he was absolutely feeling it. And then Jiren Jackson’s got Haime on him. Man, dude, what what can you say about Haime Hakis Jr., you know? I mean, listen, I got to be honest with you. A lot of talk in this summer. How is he going to be? all this talk about the mental checks was uh was was go was he was in a better place. He put all last year behind him. He’s getting more back to his game. He worked his ass off. Spo said it. I got to be honest. I don’t know if I was if I was buying it, but man, hard to think that he hasn’t made a believer out of everybody, not only with these first two regular season games, but the way that he played in the preseason. You think back to that uh that one against the Bucks and just getting a little flow going for himself and dude he he has been absolutely pristine. Absolutely pristine. So he defends Jiren Jackson into another brick and then the Heat are off and running. Wiggins is on the followup. The Heat are up six. Uh the Grizzlies are calling timeout. They don’t know what to do with each other. They come out of it and Haime Hawkins Jr. says, “Hey, dude, how about a little spin off the glass for your ass to get the Heat just rolling even more.” Then Drew Smith comes, puts the Heat up double digits with the three-pointer. Then Nico, he comes out, gets a block on KCP. Bam, finds Norman Powell for the three. Miami Heat is absolutely cooking. All of a sudden, they’re up 3521. Then the Heat get a Grizzly turnover. Hakez got his own miss on the run. They’re up 3721. Yoic, dude. I mean, what a Yoic. Wow. Yovic was good, dude. Yeah, he was good. I mean, just like comes in and he was just a little injection, a little a little pickme up every single time. I loved it today. Baby Natada. I mean, if you were to rank today’s game, you would go bam bio haime hakez and then dude mama miah simony fontekio with the three barrage the gondelola with the smooth stroke. Absolutely killing it from downtown today. and he comes in here and just starts absolutely lighting the net on fire. The ball was swinging around all over the place, but he got it going there. Puts the Heat up 42-2. And then Haime Hakez Jr. sets up the warehouse and they stuff in some storage right there in the rim. Absolutely beautiful. The Heat’s up 4425 at the end of one. Killing it. Haime was a plus 17. Bam at 18 points. They’re out rebounding the Grizzlies by double digits. Just absolutely absolutely smothering them off the jump. And then just the same way it ended was the same way it started in the second half. Haime Hawkins gets on the run off of John miss. John Moran missing an action today. Missing in action today, you know, especially after that first quarter. Got off to a fast start and then nowhere to be found. John Morant after his big 35point opener. Not so much today, everybody. But then after that, dude, Simone Fonteio just absolutely he was nuclear from three. You had a three ball puts the Heat up 51-28. Then Bam gets the slam and then another Fonteio three. The Heater are up all of a sudden 26 points. The Grizzlies call timeout. They come out of it. You got a Fonteo three. Then a follow-up slam off of Drew Smith’s steel. Fonteo, dude. I mean, what? He’s had a very nice start to his Heat career. Unbelievable for him. And then you get Yoic with the steel and the and one off the steel. Gets the and one puts the Heat up 7238. Yo, dude. Unbelievable. I mean, we were having a party. Were we not Heat Nation? Everybody who was watching this game, you were sitting here and you’re just like, “Man, I gotta tell you, I haven’t enjoyed a game this much in a while. I mean, the Miami Heat haven’t won a game since the damn playin. They hadn’t won a preseason game. Haven’t won a regular season game. They didn’t win a postseason game last year, and you just wanted to feel what it felt like.” Um, absolutely, absolutely unbelievable. Norman Powell in his little spurts today blasting through the paint with big slams and then Bam Adabio probably his his one of his favorite moments when he wasn’t just absolutely just just absolutely scintillating from downtown. He draws a charge on Jiren Jackson Jr. and like does the little point to get the ball back. I mean he was he was he was p cocking today the captain. He was absolutely thrilled and enjoying himself. He goes, “Hey, this is pretty good. This is pretty good.” Um, then Norman Powell after the uh a couple plays later, he gets Jaylen Wells to bite on the three on the pump fake DWade style. Uh, and the Heat uh finished the half with a a franchise first half record 86 points. 8647 at the break. Bam had 20 and then you had Wiggins with 10 points. We wear with 10 points, Norman Pal with 12 points and Fontekia with 14. All at the break. You had Haime with a plus 36. At the half, Miami was shooting 57% from the field. They were 30 of 52, 10 of 16 from downtown and 16 of 21. They outrebounded Memphis 30-21. Um, and they had 20 point uh 20 assists on their 30 buckets. Um, just a a marvelous marvelous performance in that in a franchise record making first half for the Heat. Really, really impressive. Um, and there’s only one way to go. Like I was texting with uh Leroy, Frog Boy, and Jay Fig. We’re texting on the way. Look, this this only this just keep this up. I mean, can we not just avoid third quarter? Can we not avoid the collapse of doom? Can we have some good feelings? And you never really felt like that was going to happen. Um Norman Pal came out of the gate, hit a three, you know, Kel Wear on the alley oop and then he swatted John Mor. You know, he was waiting for that one for the pigeon comment. Um and then there was one point where they got it to 29. I think it was Bam missing a three and then Coward got a basket. There was about five minutes left, you know, so you have those feelings. It’s like five minutes left. Um, but BAM had a couple things, you know, uh, the Heat, they, uh, they really did a great job. The, uh, the Heat turned it over and then some great transition defense. Haime getting the loose ball on the floor, ends up in Andrew Wiggins hands. He sets up Bam Bio for the alleyoop. Um, but then, you know, like they’re still sticking around. Jiren Jackson Jr., Uh Bam has a shot uh verse Jiren rolls out and Jiren comes back gets a bucket over Bam and that got it down to 9871. You’re like all right, you know, it’s not it’s not dangerous, but you’re just like you just want to put it away. Put the hammer down on this game. And this was the moment. Triple J goes for a bucket at the paint. He misses it. Drew Smith gets the followup. He misses a bunny. And then Jiren Jackson gets the rebound and he kind of just throws a little lazy pass. Bam. Goes for the steal, deflects it, loose ball on the ground, beats out Jiren Jackson. Sets up Haime Hawkins for the bucket 100 to 71. And you’re just like that that right there that was that was that was heat culture. That like that in a nutshell was bam bio. He’s like, I am putting the hammer down on this game right here. And you know, it it look the moments of the game were the three barrage, the Heat came out with monster haymakers, but you know, they needed to uh to to finish off the fight, and that’s what they did for that uh with that exchange. Really great job. Nico would get a three ball. He’d uh he’d get a couple of threes to kind of put it up for good measure. And then Haime Hakez, I mean just everywhere in the followup. He was just so good. He finished the third quarter with 14 points, 10 rebounds on the night so far. A double double for Haime Hakez. We were on maybe flirtation with triple double on the uh on the men, but him and uh Yoic and Hakez kind of putting some finishing touches on it. But everybody got in the game. Even Jir Young got a basket in this one. Keshot Johnson reverse slamming a three. Pella Larson got in the game. to the Arizona boys. Uh finishing this puppy off and uh man, what a what a needed needed game. And uh you know, a place uh in Memphis. Memphis was coming off riding high. Yes, there were some questions about John Moran if he was going to play. You know, he’s been dealing with an ankle thing. Whatever, dude. It’s game two. I’m not sitting here giving you guys any uh any moral passes or anything like that. The Heat put it on their ass today, man. That was really, really impressive. Great, great, great morale booster and obviously like look um you know they they were dealing with a lot with the Terry Roier thing. Terry, one of their teammates who they were all close with. You heard the if you you guys didn’t read the quotes. And they were able to, I suppose said, compartmentalize, make the game the game, and get a big time win to to split it up and head home for a home opener against the New York Knicks on Sunday. So, um, what can you say, man? Really, really great performance all around. Look at the final numbers here because, uh, they were doozies on everybody. the uh the Heat finished this one 146 points, third most in franchise history. Um you had Bam with a team high 24 points in 28 minutes, eight of 19 from the floor, four of eight from downtown, four of four from the free throw line, five rebounds, four assists, one steel. Um, your second leading scoreer was Nicola Yovic in his 26 points. Had 20 points, six of nine from the floor, three of six from downtown, five of five from the free throw line, six rebounds, four assists. Then you had Haime, 17 points. No, I’m sorry. You had Kell who had 19 points, nine rebounds. He was really good today, too. one steel, one block shot on Jarant that you know he was waiting for. Um then you had Jaime Hz who had 17 points, 10 rebounds, six assists. Haime was eight of 12 from the field, only one three. He has not been looking for that three-point shot at all and is like completely out of his arsenal. He took one that was like wide open today. I think he air mailed it. But he he has absolutely gotten back to his bread and butter. He looks his footwork. His footwork is artwork, dude. It’s breathtaking. It’s bre it’s breathtaking. If you were to if you were to go to the museum of of modern art or or any kind of art museum because I don’t know if these classic art count but I mean you would really like if if you were to look at the artwork that is Haime’s footwork you know top five artists you’d go like Vincent Van Go Claude Monae Michelangelo Leonardo da Vinci Haime Hakez and his footwork like that’s those are the greatest artists of our time. It’s breathtaking. You just know art when you’re in the presence of it. That That’s really That’s really a thing of beauty that he’s bringing to the table. It really is. Uh Drew Smith got double digits tonight. 10 points for him. Five assists for Drew Smith. One block, three steals. He was a plus 35. Haime was a plus 43. Nico was a plus 33. Bam was a plus 25. Unbelievable. Um, and then Simon Nefonteio, all of his damage done in the first half of this game. But I mean, I if if if Bam was the uh the knockdown punch, Simone might have been the knockout punch in this game today. He was he was freaking awesome. And then uh yeah, I mean the other starters like it’s not like, you know, Wiggins and Norman Pal didn’t do anything. It’s just like they were pitching in whenever needed. Let’s fill the cracks and make this thing happen. Awesome. Awesome night for them and uh an awesome win for the Miami Heat. So, gooseies on top of gooseies. My Heat Nation friends, that was a delightful performance. It is like It is like It’s so good to feel this again. So good to feel this again. The offense has been fun, man. The offense has been the the offense has been humming. Bam made a point of it. Everybody’s sharing the ball. Um, it is uh it really just feels like it’s got a a nice a nice rhythm to it. Everybody’s looking for shooters, making quick decisions. It’s almost like you don’t know what to do with your hands, right? Like it’s it’s a it’s a little strange, but very uh very very impressive win tonight, you know, to to put the hammer down on Memphis like that with everything Miami had to deal with in the background was uh was a sight to behold. So well done by the uh by the home team tonight. Well, actually well done by the road team. Although they made the they made the home team the road team because they gave them two tickets to Blowout City cuz they left their building and said and they said, “Hey, John R, what are these tickets for?” He goes, “Those are two tickets to Blowout City. Congratulations. Admission is free.” So I enjoyed it and uh looking forward to the home opener. Knicks in town on Sunday at the Heats house 6:00 for those who have tickets. 6:00, mind you. So, plan accordingly. Uh get there when you need to get there. And um make sure you got uh cheeks in seats at six. Be ready for that game. And uh I wish uh wish a great atmosphere and uh hopefully not a lot of ratinfested Nick fans to uh to to join the building. And if they are there, I hope they go home very, very sad in their pit stain Jaylen Brunson jerseys.

So happy I got to witness heat culture. Dolphins take notes
This performance has me very curious as to what the team could look like if KJ is a competent playmaker.
EPISODE 1 of the MERC+FRIENDS PHODCAST (yes, PHODcast …) – I literally referred to Jaime as MEXICAN JIMMY BUTLER … in a good way – great win! I had just cooked up an ESPN TRADE MACHINE to give Bam to the Lakers for BRON and it was "approved" – then we make history!!! (btw – the "fbi director" who is talking all this LA COSA NOSTRA talk has never been a field officer or lead an investigation.. i'm happy Rozier is off the team but acting like GAMBLING crimes are as bad as anything trump has done is literally CRAZY)
Look how good the Heat look 😊 that's without Herro 😊
I'm Heat fan born and raised in Massachusetts.
So glad we turned Duncan into Fonteccio
Not the pigeon noises 🤣🤣
Justice for Brittany in the group chat! #letherin
I see you team Capitano😮
This team is lowkey loaded this year when they get Herro back watch out…
TALL TIME!!!! Finally! Every time Ware & Niko were on the floor together they DOMINATED!!! The starting lineup was still bad. Spo just needs to pull Bam early & put Niko in. JJJ was great all game. Fontecchio & Bam 3pt shooting was amazing 1st half & Dru was a defensive menace all game.
Maybe all isn’t lost for Spo. The answer is always Ware & Niko & of course Tyler when he comes back
When Tyler herro comes back the team's pace becomes 🗑️🗑️🗑️ again
#TRADETYLERHERRO
This the happiest I been as a heat fan in a lonnnnng time tobes>>> this was an awesome day and night if u include inter miami winning their first playoff game of the yr>>>🔥🔥🔥X⚫️🦩
Great game. Good to see Ware starting. Good to see Bam be aggressive.
Nuggets fan here – this is one of the best NBA podcasts out there!! JooOooOoOovic duuude!! What a win! Great game.
Thankfully COACH SPO let KELEL get some extended rest on his ankle during the first game , I'll NEVERRR EVERRRR be a critic about the HEAT without knowing what's going on behind the scenes..
Guess Riley wasn't asleep huh
Dude you name top artists in history and leave out Pablo Picasso? Lol smh uncultured.
Wiggins did a lot of great things on both sides of the court last night…
He's a good plug for the team chemistry
We bike boys 🤙🏿
Coach spo finally stop trying to be a genius and used common sense, he started ware wow.
Trade bam.
Retire Pat.
Let's go heat.
HOPE KNICKS FANS LEAVE EARLY IN THEIR PIT STAINED JALEN BRUNSON JERSEYS CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD 😂
This is what a good team looks like when they bounce back from a loss in a first game compared to the Miami Dolphins.Erick spo is an excellent coach.. let’s go heat we got this
What a game! Orlando was a fun game, today was another good one. Now let's see if they can keep this up. CON SIS TAN CY! String together good games back to back!
