The NFL is NOT ready for what the Chiefs are about to do…

They don’t really have like a weak spot that is weak enough that it allows teams to tee off on that weakness. They’re tough to play man against. They’re impossible to play zone against. They’ve got an incredibly deep wide receiver core. They go five deep with guys that Mahomes really trusts. Their defensive tackle depth is just so rough right now. And that puts them in such a bad situation, not just on obvious passing downs, but on rundowns as well. You need someone who can be a difference maker. And so if that’s on edge, fair enough. I prefer it on DTackle. But I think you pick one of the two. I’m also curious what a team would offer for a guy who’s currently a healthy scratch for you. Are you going to continue to throttle a clearly inferior opponent? This should be talent-wise a two-score win for the Chiefs. So, in today’s conversation with Seth Kaiser of KCSN, he does not hold back in his thoughts about how highpowered this Chief’s offense is. In fact, the NFL is quite honestly in trouble because this offense is only getting started. We also talk about the need to trade for a defensive lineman, whether that’s a defensive tackle or defensive end. the updated state of the running back room, could Christian Fulton betray bait, the potential outcome of the commanders game, and so much more. So, let’s get into it. But first, how about those? All right, Seth. The Chiefs are about to face the Commanders here on Monday Night Football coming up soon. And they’re looking really good. The Commanders, they’re dealing with some injuries. You’re not going to have Jaden Daniels in this one. They just lost Dorance Armstrong, their lead, their sack leader for the season with a knee injury. The Chiefs have an injury of their own on the Dline out for the season with Omar Norman Lot. So, there’s definitely some things to dive into and talk about. But for starters, let’s talk Chiefs offense here because they seem to be back. 32 points per game on average over the last four. You’ve got Rice back. Everything’s humming. You haven’t had Simmons in a couple of games. Josh or Andy Reid rather said today that it’s a positive situation and there is communication going on with Simmons and that’s the most we’ve heard about this situation in a while. So that’s some good news there. But Jaylen Moore has been filling in. Momes is confident all-time confidence level at least compared to the last couple of years. How are you seeing the offense and what are some of your takeaways there when you’re breaking down the film over the past uh couple of weeks? The biggest thing with the offense right now is that they have multiple strengths and they don’t really have other than, you know, a lack of explosion or high-end running back play, which there there’s certain aspects of that that are even going away, which we can get into. They don’t really have like a weak spot, like a legitimate weak spot that is weak enough that it allows teams to tee off on that weakness. As an offense, you’re trying to have the widest array of options possible, the widest array of play calls possible available to you, the widest array of of personnel groupings, formations, and general route combinations or styles of runs, etc. It really is an incredibly balanced group in terms of what they can all accomplish and you have someone who can do anything. And then you’ve got some guys that can do a little bit of everything. Again, they they do have one weak spot with the running back room. Pacheco is playing better, especially under center. He’s a much better player because it generally speaking, it allows him to generate a little momentum in advance. And usually the types of runs that they’re doing under center don’t require either as many decisions or they don’t require as much change of direction. You know, people talk about PCO’s vision a lot, but he’s not necessarily a fluid guy either. He’s got a little explosion, but he doesn’t change direction particularly well or particularly quickly. And so that slows him down. That gives defenders that split second they need to catch up. But under center, it’s a lot more just vertical, straight ahead, or one cut. And you’re a lot better off there. My only real concern about the running back room when I look at it, it’s like you’ve got Kareem Hunt who’s been elite in short yardage. He’s top three in the NFL right now in short yardage success rate. So that’s incredible. Love that. He’s not practicing right now this week. So hopefully he’s doing okay. But then you’ve got Pacheco who is looking better like you said, but he’s basically been non-existent effective in the past game. Yep. The inverse is Brashard Smith who we can talk about. He looks really good in the past game, but the only thing it’s like, well, if Pacheco’s out there, you’re probably not throwing to him. Even though Mahomes tries, he’s had five targets, two catches for negative three yards in the last two games. Where when Bashard Smith is out on the field, oh, it’s probably going to be a pass to him and and you could kind of cook up off that, fake it to Bashard Smith, throw to Noah Gray down the field like they did on their opening drive against the Raiders. But that’s why I’m still like, well, I would I would maybe like a a more dynamic running back that could kind of do a little bit of of both of that when out there and you just don’t know. But when you look at the state of the roster, if the Chiefs need to make a move, it’s probably for Dline help. But how are you seeing Brashard Smith and his usage kind of increase? Are you encouraged about that based on the last couple of games? And before I get to the rest of this interview with Seth here, I got to tell you guys my four favorite picks for this upcoming Monday night matchup against the Commanders. Rashi Rice was targeted 10 times for seven catches in his season debut. So the higher on four and a half reception seems like a lock to me, especially against a pretty vulnerable Commander secondary that’s ranked 25th in passing yards allowed. That’s why I also like the higher on Mahomes’s one and a half passing touchdowns. He’s hit that in three of his last four games and it could have been four for four if not for that pick six against the Jags. But oh well. Moving on for Washington. We know Jaden Daniels is out with a hamstring. So hit the higher on the 19 and a half rushing yards for Marcus Mariota. He’s done this in all three games that he has appeared in this season. Meanwhile, the Chiefs defense seems to love allowing quarterbacks to scramble. And since I think the Chiefs will most likely be playing with a lead, I am going to take the higher on Isaiah Pacheco’s 39 12 rushing yards. His carries have increased the last two weeks. He rushed for over 50 yards in both games. So, I think 39 and a half is very attainable. And if these four picks hit, you can win up to 2.74x on your money. So, if you like them, make sure to tail. Or you can make your own picks by choosing higher or lower on your favorite player stats for a chance to win up to a,000x on your money. And don’t forget to use code HBTC where any new signup can play just $5 to get $100 in bonus funds plus a guinea pig in the lobby. How are you seeing Brashard Smith and his usage kind of increase? Are you encouraged about that based on the last couple of games? I am. And it’s tough to take away anything from most of his run plays against the Raiders because those all came Andy Reid and Pete Carol had the most gentlemanly fourth quarter of all time there. He had a couple of carries and he’s had a couple carries throughout the year that I see the framework of the ability. He’s a much smoother mover than Pacheco and he’s way more explosive than Hunt and a lot more explosive than Pacheco, too. So, I think there’s some stuff there. And the key with him will be when he’s on the field, you’re going to see them run some draws to him every now and then. You’re going to see probably a couple handoffs under center every now and then. Basically, because you can’t have a tell. It’s the same reason you’re going to see Kareem Hunt run outside zone or something every now and then because you can’t let a defense think they know what you’re going to do and what you’re going to not do. Or the same reason you’ll see Pacheco run outside zone. You can’t have a tell, right? With Smith, the biggest thing for me, and I wrote about this on the Chief of the North newsletter, was the screen game has once again become revitalized in Kansas City. And it’s been a couple of years, and I know a lot of people like, “Oh, well, yeah, cuz Jet McKinnon was was the screen game.” But it’s a little more complicated than that in terms of Andy Reid really has called way fewer screens the last couple years because they stopped being effective. Well, that narrowed their play sheet. That narrowed their personnel grouping. But now the deep ball is a threat again. And you know, even the intermediate passing game is a threat again. And that is not just the wide receiver room changing. That is the offensive line changing. The problems they had last year at left tackle affected the screen game because, and we’ve talked about this before, football’s a beautiful game because you pull one lever and it pulls a thousand other levers in this giant room. If you have terrible pass protection, teams know that you’re going to be spamming short stuff. They understand that that those screens are part of what you do and they can tee off on them. If you’ve got wide receivers that aren’t too much of a threat deep, same thing. You got both of those, you’ve got problems. And so screens just stopped being as effective. Now that they’ve stretched the field again, you’ve seen Reed start to dial up more of that and they’ve been more effective. But because of their personnel at running back, when you’re not as explosive um like Hunt and when you’re not as comfortable in open space like Pacheco, those screens are going to go for maybe six or seven yards. And that’s where when I broke down what Smith did on those screens, they’re really well set up. Andy has not lost his fast ball. In fact, two of them were this close to huge gains for a touchdown. I saw one in particular that if if Bashard Smith or somebody needed to make a block potentially, but there was only one guy and if if he did not tackle, I think Bashard was going to house that. He absolutely almost did. And one of the plays, if we’re talking about the same play, Jaylen Moore got out into space, okay, not quite as fast. And this is where you’re going to see the difference sometimes. Moore has played so well, especially in pass protection, but he’s not going to get out in space the way Simmons does or the way like Kingsley Suamada, which man, good for you, Kingsley. It’s been so great to watch. I’m like a proud uncle. We’re not related in the slightest, but I just watch him and I’m like, I’m so happy for this guy based on his rookie year and the way that he’s being weaponized and and sure he had a couple of losses in pass protection. He’s going to keep, but there’ve been more slow deaths, not this instantaneous stuff. I mean, I was worried in preseason. It looked rough and man he’s come together. I think he’s really realizing how to harness his gifts but and him and Creed are just weapons in the screen game. Um they they get downfield so well. So with with Smith that was a situation where I mean Moore had he been just a tick faster. Um and and uh Mike Caliendo at that point was in the game and he just barely I he got he got downfield really well which Caliendo has some athleticism which is great but he didn’t quite stick the block in space. He did enough to provide space but the uh the defender was able to kind of angle around get his shoulder underneath and barely make the tackle. Had either one of those blocks been 10% more effective I think Smith has like a 40 50 yard touchdown there. The thing you can watch on some of those screens, if you try to imagine what it would look like if Bashard Smith was say a tenth of a second slower or 2/10 of a second slower, those gains don’t look as explosive. And so now he had four catches for 40 yards on screens. And that is it just adds another element to the offense, another easy button that forces teams to be careful with their pass rush, careful with their play call, forces them to stay a little bit more upfield. But at the same time because of what Thoron and Worthy are doing that and then and that then you got to be way back. The problem is with what Kelsey and now Rice and to an extent Brown and Worthy are doing at the intermediate levels of the field. There’s just not a lot of good options against the Chiefs offense right now other than the usual like well if we can dominate the line of scrimmage and try to get a ton of pressure but the offensive line is playing well and so it’s looking great and Mahomes is playing about as well as I’ve seen him play in years in part because some of the things when you and I talked this off season I talked about how he was playing a little bit sped up in his feet and a little slowed down in his head and arm. He didn’t trust his line and his protection. So speeds up and he didn’t trust his receiver so it slows you down because you got to see it before you throw it. Now he is just almost to a fault like in the Raiders game a couple was like whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa easy but he is firing again. So wait wait wait Seth he’s he’s not the 13th best uh quarterback in the NFL like PFF has him graded. I’ve tried to stay out of the discourse. Um, PFF has some use here. I I can actually for your your watchers, the way you should view PFF is rather than looking at it the way it’s kind of presented as like this objective number, view it instead as one person’s grade that is based on what they believe is most important in quarterback play. Now, there’s going to be some inherent flaws in that, but it’s at least it’s a starting point and and that’s a good thing. It’s better than nothing. It’s one educated voice. If you view it that way, it’ll make you less mad because it’s like converted into a number and the way it’s presented, it’s like he’s the 13th ranked, blah blah blah. That’s pretty silly in my opinion. But hopefully that helps people get a little, you know, their blood pressure a little less up. And I I do think PFF tries to contextualize some of what Mahomes does. But based on my conversations with a few people, I don’t think they value some of the creation stuff he does the same way as they value a more traditional drop back, take what the defense gives you, make throws into tight windows type stuff, more traditional quarterback play, which makes sense when you consider how it was founded and when it was founded, what was considered elite quarterback play at the time. That’s changed. Well, let’s talk about that for a second because one great example to me is Mahomes throws to a wideopen Rashi Rice on one play. It was like the most basic thing you could think of. He was wide open, but you actually watch what happened and Mahomes threw a no look. He looked the the secondary off and that’s why Rice was wide open. Well, PFF probably grades that as like a normal easy throw because he was wide open, but Mahomes created that with the no look there and that’s why him and Rice were doing this. You said Mahomes is playing some of his best ball that you’ve seen in some time. I know you just wrote an article about some of this today in in regards to him being able to get guys open. What are you seeing? And just tease the article a little bit as we will have people obviously go read it, but what what are you seeing when you kind of look at the film? Hey, if you’re enjoying this conversation with Seth, you’re going to want to subscribe to his Chief in the North newsletter. He’s dropping multiple articles every single week and he breaks things down in such a super simple way that really any fan can understand. And if you click the link in the description down below, you can get 60% off forever. It’s like $12 a year. Well worth it in my opinion. What are you seeing when you kind of look at the film? A good example like with NextG stats cuz what people will say is, “Well, Chief, you know, targets by Mahomes are averaging five yards of separation per play or whatever, right?” and and that that’s a madeup number, but the way people view that is, oh, he’s throwing to some wide receiver that just threw a killer move at the top of his route and ran a dig and just toasted the corner and got five yards of separation that any of hundreds of college QBs and maybe a few thousand high school QBs could hit that dig. But that’s not what NextG Stats tracks. They track distance, and this is all it can track, right? Distance between a wide receiver and other defenders when they get the ball. It doesn’t say the how. And one of my favorite examples of this came um to the big game against Travis Kelce on the first uh drive of the game. Mahomes drops back. The Raiders rush three. And so there’s there’s a good pocket for him. And the Raiders are playing some variant of two deep. It’s a cover two look. And so if you actually look at it, when Mahomes hits the top of his drop and starts surveying the field, everything’s covered. Kelsey against a linebacker one-on-one is a good matchup, but the linebacker has put himself in good position to undercut the route, making it a really tough layered throw over the top. And that’s a bit of a risk. So, what Mahomes does, he sees everything’s covered, but he’s got a great pocket to work with, and he just starts to move up in the pocket. And Kelsey keeps his route going cuz he’s seen this film before and he loved the ending. He knows that he’s going to keep going. And Mahomes makes a throw with just completely off platform, gets down the field, and by the time Kelsey catches it, there’s no defender within 5 yards. So that’s just one example. I talked about a play from the Lions game, too. Because Mahomes has all these things, because he’s got incredible vision, because he sees the entire field, because he’s got good awareness of the pocket around him, because he’s such a scrambling threat, because he’s able to throw off platform with velocity and accuracy. All these things make him almost impossible to deal with. So, he’ll fake a scramble and we’ve seen him do this a million times. That’s one of the things that Mahomes does that is tough to quantify with like NextGen stats because it’s just, oh, Travis Kelce was wide open, but he didn’t create that separation. Mahomes created that separation. And those are the types of things that he does at such a high level. And now that he’s trusting everything around him, he’s doing that still, that kind of stuff. And he’s also just, you know, like his touchdown throw to Hollywood Brown dart. Yeah, just a dart like that. That would have that would have vaporized my hands. But he also he just sees the coverage, reads it correctly in advance, trusts his guy to get open on a slant and just fires it in there. And he wasn’t trusting guys to do that, especially his third receiver at last year. So, he’s playing at an incredibly high level. And oh, here’s the other thing with zone defenses. If they don’t move, he might just scramble for 10 yards. Yeah, I was going to bring that up because he’s been so effective at that this year that I think you have to respect that at a at a much greater level. Like we always know that Mahomes can scramble. He would just do it much more strategically and it would normally go for a first down. He would pick that rate up in the playoffs. Well, he’s just kind of been doing it whenever. Now, if he sees man coverage or he sees just some opening and he knows he’s like if I He’s like, “If I got a first down, I’m running.” and he’s been doing that more. So now with his full arsenal back, Worthy, Rice, all of it. That’s where I saw when he it looked like he was going to start to scramble and it created that big opening. I’m like, well, that’s cuz you have to assume he might actually scramble cuz he’s been doing it so much. One of the most effective at it. Absolutely. And that’s where he’s putting teams in this impossible dilemma in terms of defending every blade of grass, defending every potential play call. And now, especially with Rice back and they were already on a roll without him. But what Rice can do is he wins in the middle of the field and at the intermediate levels better than other guys. You know, Worthy is really developed as a route runner. Worthy had a couple really nice intermediate routes, one on kind of a curl, one on an out that like you can see he’s learning to set up routes with his speed. It’s really fun to watch. So, that really stinks for teams cuz that’s the thing. It’s like we’ll just play man coverage. It’s like maybe because that’s a lot tougher with Rice as your top guy and then Worthy as your second guy and Brown as your third guy and then Kelsey out there of course as well. That’s much tougher than worthy brown Kelsey because you’re you’re bumping up your corners, right? You’ve got your best on your best. Well, now your best has to cover Rice. Now suddenly Xavier Worthy’s getting matched up with your second best. It just changes everything about the dynamic. But with Rice back in particular, and you saw this on a couple plays against the Raiders, the Chiefs are dialing up looks that work particularly well with him with zone coverages where they’ll try to utilize personnel to make sure there’s two linebackers at least on the field and then they just spread the whole field out. And with most NFL coverages, there’s going to be a side that a linebacker is responsible for a lot of open space and then they just match up Rice on that guy. And then the other side of it is even if he’s bracketed, um there was a third and two conversion that he had against the Raiders where he isn’t Kelsey in this manner cuz literally no one in history has been. But he is excellent and has been since his rookie year at finding gaps and zones, sitting down in them, and drifting to the right spot. And because Mahomes knows that and trusts him, Mahomes’s throws are better time to him than they would be to other guys cuz he trusts him so much. And so they’re they’re tough to play man against. They’re impossible to play zone against. Juju two against zone. Now you got another one. They’ve got an incredibly deep wide receiver core. They go five deep with guys that Mahomes really trusts at this point and they can do a variety of things. It really is working and firing on all cylinders. And that’s why I’m just really excited about the offense. It seems like the the offense of old quote unquote is back. Even though it it it looks different, but when you’re averaging 32 points a game, I think it’s okay. And with the trade deadline getting close, it’s like, okay, yeah, if you want to make a move for a running back, if you could figure out a way to make that work, cool. But I feel like when you look at the roster, it’s like, uh, they got to do something about Dline. Where are you kind of at right now? Because we talked weeks ago of, hey, you probably need to try to get some Dline help before the trade deadline. And that was with a healthy or healthyish Omar Norman Lot getting healthier and expecting his workload to increase as time goes on. Well, now you’re down Omar Norman Lot, no FAU, no Janerius Robinson. You have three defensive tackles on the roster. Chris Jones, Tillery, and Naughty. You also don’t really have a guy winning at a high level on the edge outside of George Carlos. We’ve talked about that, the pressure thing. Sometimes they’re he’s up he’s upticked it a bit. He’s up ticked it a bit, but you look at like these other charts and like a Mini Hughes down in like the bottom left. So, what do you what do you want to see potentially the Chiefs do here? Are they double dipping for the trade deadline getting an interior guy and an edge or where are you kind of at with that right now? I’d be surprised to see them like legitimately double dip. Um, just cuz that’s tough to do. I would have leaned maybe more towards an edge before Omar Norman Lock got hurt because he was playing okay and really like you saw maybe he was kind of trending up and so that’s nice. But I I really think their defensive tackle depth is just so rough right now and that puts them in such a bad situation not just on obvious passing downs but on rundowns as well. It’s tough to take Chris Jones off the field against the run now. And that’s problematic because you want him as fresh as possible. He’s in his mid-30s. You don’t want Chris Jones playing 80% of the snaps right now. Um that he’s just going to be shot even if you’re, you know, only eight plays into a drive. His style of play and what’s asked of him is incredibly tiring and that’s just hard to do. And so if I were them, I’d be looking for someone that plays interior and that they can trust to be disruptive and ideally be strong against the run and the pass. The problem is it’s tough to find guys like that on the trade market, but it’s not impossible. You just might have to give up a little more than you’d like. And Tiller, for what it’s worth, he’s been passable, which has been good. But like, if you can find an average defensive tackle against the run who can provide you a little more than that against the pass, I think you almost have to pull the trigger. But if the very best player available is an edge and spags thinks you can get enough out of Tillery in run defense, then I think you go with edge if it’s if it there’s a pretty wide margin there cuz I don’t think you really move the needle by getting a meh player, right? Like like and this is no disrespect to Tiller, but he’s kind of like your guy who yeah, he can eat 20 30 snaps and you’re fine, but it doesn’t really help. So they already have that. You get one more of that. I don’t really know what that accomplishes for you. So for me it’s like, okay, you need someone who can be a difference maker at least somewhat. And so if that’s on edge, fair enough. I’d prefer it on DTackle. But I think you you’d pick one of the two. Yeah. I kind of said in my my video yesterday, if you want to get a difference maker on the edge, I think you could settle for somebody like a and again, I’m not saying they should 100% do this, but like go get Colin Saunders from the Jags. you got a serviceable guy that you can rotate in plug and play pretty quickly, but you have to get like a difference maker on the edge. You can’t you can’t kind of get me me. You have to get one or the other here. So, I’m just saying if you got somebody like Jaylen Phillips from the from the Dolphins and you wanted to that’s like you’re more of your difference maker and you have to you have to compromise a little bit on the interior then okay, but you can’t get away with what you’re doing on the interior now and not upgrade the edge. So, I’ll be very intrigued to see what the Chiefs do cuz we know they’re making a move. The question is what is the move? Who are they able to get? They’ll bid and probably can get outbid or some teams are just like I’m not helping you, dude. Like you the Chiefs tax is a second or what. And and also because that a Chief second is really almost a third. So there’s there’s a lot of issues there with what could could go down behind the scenes. And some are saying, “Hey, let’s trade Christian Fulton. He is potential trade bait. He’s been a healthy scratch.” And I have been a little baffled by him being a healthy scratch two games in a row because with him not dressing, if any of those other corners got hurt, it’s like, well then Joshua Williams, I guess, is going to step into there or you’re not bringing out three corners as much and you’ve got Chamari Connor playing a little bit more in the slot or whatever it ends up playing out based on personnel packages. What are you thinking there with the the cornerback room? I’m of the impression if you you signed Fultton into a two-year $20 million deal. So, it’s like surely they don’t trade him and eat money when valuable depth is very important at two key positions that we saw have attrition last year, left tackle and cornerback. And that’s where it’s going to be kind of a tough decision for them to make. Null Williams being as good as he’s been early and he’s finally really grabbed that CB3 spot. A lot of people thought that he was the reason Fulton wasn’t playing a few weeks ago, but I mean they we’re a couple weeks removed from Williams playing four snaps against the Jags and even before that he was only playing like 15 20 snaps. He wasn’t playing full-fledged I’m on the boundary when we’re in nickel because that is like 60 65% of the snaps give or take. We’re seeing a little more of that now and he’s doing well with it. He does still need at times it seems like a little pre- snap help, but he was a really smart player in college, a really good zone player, a great fit for Spags’ scheme. A lot of people that I really respect loved that pick and I loved his film. Reminded me favorably of Jaylen Watson’s film in terms of being a really physical player, really smart in zone, isn’t like an elite athlete, but plays super physical with his hair on fire. And I think he’s a better athlete than Watson. Not quite as big though, but he I mean super physical at the line of scrimmage, super physical at the at the stem of a of a route. Just does he’s done a good job. The situation you’re in though, like you said, depth is so important at corner. And so for me, I’m also curious what a team would offer for a guy who’s currently a healthy scratch for you. Now, the good news is with like Fulton, he’s put together a couple straight years of decent film as a corner. So teams kind of know what they’re getting with him. And so if they call and say, “Spags, is he healthy?” And they’re like, “Yeah, we just we’ve got this rookie we like. We’ll see what ends up happening there because you could move on from like if if a team’s like, “Hey, we like the traits and the athleticism of Josh Williams. He’s on the last year of his rookie deal.” It’ll be interesting to see if if the Chiefs move somebody. I just don’t know that it’s going to be Fulton, especially when you look at next year and you’ve got all these guys playing on the last year of their rookie deal right now. But I’m fine to be wrong, especially if for some reason they feel confident enough in the quarterback room and how it looks and how it is to somehow package Fulton for a difference maker on the Dline. And like you could maybe talk me into that. I think the financials you would just have to eat some dead money with Fulton’s contract regardless at least a little bit, but still I’m open to it. How are you feeling about the commanders game here based on the state of the roster? Cuz I I don’t know that they’re going to make a move for maybe they will, but I don’t know you’re going to get a Dlineman and have him play meaningful snaps on Monday Night Football. So maybe it’s Marlin Tui Palotu gets elevated and that’s what you’ve got. But you’re playing against a commanders team that is banged up. We’ll see if Scary Terry or Debo Samuel plays. They didn’t. Or Noah Brown. Like none of those guys played last week. We already know that Jaden Daniels isn’t playing. I mentioned earlier Dorren Armstrong, their leading sack rusher. He’s out for the season. How are you feeling about the state of uh both of these teams heading into Monday Night Football? Most people are picking the Chiefs to win, if not everybody. But how how are you feeling about it? With Daniels out, the Chiefs should be an incredibly heavy favorite, especially with Armstrong out, too. I mean, that’s just that’s tough. I mean, he’s one of your better defensive players. And he’s also one thing we’ve seen with the Chiefs over the years is, you know, how do we disrupt the offense? Well, the same way you disrupt any highle offense that’s centered around its quarterback, you get pressure with four. And if you can consistently get pressure with four, that’s one way to win. Well, it makes it a lot harder when your best edge rusher is out. And then Daniels being out, he’s just a huge deal. I mean, he was he he’s a terrific young quarterback and he was such a big part of a huge part of of why their offense took such a giant step forward. So, I mean, the thing I would be watching for with the Chiefs is the similar a similar thing to what I was watching for with the Raiders. Are you going to continue to throttle a clearly inferior opponent? Is that what you’re going to do? Are you going to continue to execute really well, or are you going to do what you did against the Jags and after looking like the much better team, and they clearly were for the first quarter, then just kind of start fiddling around. That’s what I’m going to be looking for. Are you going to continue to execute at a high level? Because the Eagles lost mostly hinged on Mahomes or on Kelsey bobbling a ball. That Jags lost, they should not have lost that game. They should be tied for first in the division right now. And hopefully, you know, they they control their own destiny. They play Denver twice. They They’ve got lots of time. But like that still annoys me. So show me you you showed against the Raiders you won’t do that. Show me you won’t do that against a non-division team that you don’t have any really big reason to get, you know, fired up about. Show me that you’re you’re going to dominate that the way you really should. Like this should be talent-wise a twocore win for the Chiefs. Win this one 30 to 20 or 30 to 17. Make it a comfortable one and show that you’re continually trending up in terms of executing and not shooting yourself in the foot. Yep. Stay focused. Don’t sleepwalk past a team that you know you should beat. And I Buffalo too much because that is uh who you’ve got after the Commanders before the by-week. But I definitely have the Chiefs winning the game. But just what you said, it’s the NFL any given Sunday. This season’s been very weird where it’s like one team gets blown out one week and they beat they beat the favorite by multiple scores. So, it’s just one of those seasons right now parody closer than ever. You have to execute at a high level and I think the Chiefs probably come out and do that. You also are at home which is helpful as well. I just I hope they beat the piss out of the commanders because Marcus Mariota still gives me flashbacks of that Tennessee Titans game where he catches his own pass. I was there. Well, I have a feeling Marcus Mariota is not going to be catching his own pass for a touchdown in this one. I think the Chiefs get the W. But let me know your thoughts in the comments down below on this conversation with Seth. What really stood out to you? How are you feeling about the Chiefs offense? What do you think the Chiefs should do before the trade deadline? Let me know either way in the comments down below. And until next time, let’s go. Let’s freaking go. How about those

  1. That first offensive holding call against the raiders (WHICH WAS TOTAL BS) There was NO holding! Watch the replay. That game was altered from the very start. I also heard they were instructed to make sure the chiefs covered the spread

  2. 12:00 PFF , in my eyes has never had any credibility. But they lost all credibility last weekend when they said that Geno Smith was a better quarterback this past Sunday, then Patrick Mahomes. Their stock should completely disappear and they should cease to exist after such a retarded statement.

  3. Yall are hilarious thinking KC on field accomplishments are actually talent. PM is just the next flavor of the month so people will forget about Brady. Both were GIVEN every win and every SB. Cognitive dissonance look it up dupes.

  4. One benefit of such a great O is that it forces opposing O’s to have to pass. We saw that with Detroit. If your O can score 30+ points weekly, you’re less worried about your run D

  5. The league is in huge trouble, because the floor of the Chiefs offensive line for the next two years is "above average" and the ceiling is "best in the NFL 1 through 5." That means that the one potential path to stopping the Chiefs (keep hitting Mahomes until he gets injured) is now closing rapidly. If Kingsley and Simmons settle into even "above average contributors on a rookie contract" (and again, that's looking increasingly like the *floor*), Mahomes will have 3 seconds to find an open receiver. Then he will escape the pocket and start another play that has a completely independent chance of succeeding. So Mahomes, effectively, get up to 6 opportunities to get a first down (8, if the Chiefs don't kick).

That's why the Chiefs are scoring 28+ every game – the receivers are helping. But we are still doing this with zero superstars. Kelce at this point in his career is a star, but not a superstar. Rashee might become a superstar, but right now, I put him right below that tier. And Xavier Worthy has that caliber of talent, but he's a second year player with a torn labrum.

Making matters worse for the rest of the league, next year we can run the entire line back, or we can trade/cut our starting RT and save $20M in cap space, probably without missing a step. Or we can stick with the same group and afford it, because the rest of our offense (except Mahomes) is dirt cheap.

  6. When I see a game like I saw with the Raiders, it is hard for me to say we are the best or complete team. The reason is that we don't rightly know if that was us or if that was the raiders Raidering. The test will be buffalo. That is where we will see what we are.
