I’m sure the Dodgers will get back into this thing, but the Blue Jays really showed why they made it this far.
I hope the Jays can capitalize on this game. Either way, I am going to be stressing for the next week.
I just want to see what Big Papi is gonna do next.
idk how my view as a spectator differs from the view of the actual batter, but from my pov snell was tipping his curveball. he was digging his fingers in his glove at the end of his windup every time he threw a curveball. wonder if that played a factor for the j*ys
The Bichette role will be interesting to see going forward.
He was given 3 at bats, and then PR for.
Wont be shocking if going forward for his 2B starts, its 3-4 at bats and then he has IKF for him.
It’s just so hard to strike out Blue Jays. Been true all year.
Blue Jays good baseball team, hit ball good
Hopefully the Dodgers can bounce back. They haven’t played their best ball all postseason. The level of play they have had won’t fly against the Jays. Part of me thinks they needed to get BTA to wake up.
Hey, it all came down to the sixth where the Jays lit up a trio of Dodgers pitchers. They set a franchise Postseason record with 9 runs, a franchise Postseason record sending 12 hitters to the plate and a franchise Postseason record with 6 hits. They were on fire 🔥
Jays fans, with how poor Davis Schenider has looked so far, is there a case to start Lukes every game regardless of lefty or righty? If that’s the case, his batting order can be adjusted based on who’s on the mound
Correct me if I’m wrong, when Lukes plays lefties he bats 8th but 2nd if he plays against righties, is that correct?
As a neutral fan I’m looking forward to seeing the Blue Jays’ approach vs Yamamoto who when he’s on can throw so many different pitches for strikes in any count.
This is objectively the funniest game 1 outcome after everyone was clowning on the AL all year. Turns out everyone being good looks the same as everyone being bad.
It was a good game. The opening performance was amazing, the Ohtani heckling was honestly funny. The Blue Jays handed our asses to us but we kind of needed the wake up call after just breezing through the NLCS.
I like this pitching matchup more than last night. Go Jays!
It’s wild there was a non zero chance last nights game could have ended with Shohei being picked off, but that was probably too much to ask for
Idc how much like cope this sounds, that beating yesterday made me realize I’ve seen my current Dodger GOATS get their full season rings already in a sport where I would argue is the hardest to reach the top. If they win I’ll be super excited and party, if they lose it’s whatever. Shohei and Kershaw got their ring so I’m good, just don’t want them to lay down and take it though. Show some fight.
Anyways still feeling optimistic. Today is make or break, going 1-1 into Dodger stadium would give Dodgers the momentum to turn it around
Dodgers had a lot of time off. I expect them to be sharper tonight. Should be a great game.
Toronto will feast on the Dodger bullpen. LA needs to build early leads and have their starters eat innings.
After seeing the almighty Dodgers get BTFO like that, I think the Mariners this year were far better than even Mariners fans gave them credit for. The Blue Jays are just pesky as hell.
I don’t think you could have asked for a better opener. However this goes, the stakes were raised even higher.
The Jays won by 7 while Vladdy Springer and even Bichette were a “quiet” 5-11 with 0 RBI’s and got scored a collective 2 times (3 if Bichette doesnt get removed from the game). Like it was everyone getting the big hits and our big 3 just setting the table and letting the unsung heroes get the job done
Not only did the Jays hang up 11, but they also left many men on the base in the first three innings. Could have been 15 or so! I wonder how Yamamoto will approach this lineup tonight.
I feel like the Jays are showing that building a team with contact first type of hitters is the way to go for the future. The whole “fill your lineup with 3 true outcome hitters and focusing heavily on launch angle and pray someone runs into one” is becoming a bit outdated, especially with the level of talent most pitching staffs have these days
I think there’s been a lot of undue hyping up of this dodgers team, that is still very flawed, because people want them to be some unbeatable, all-consuming juggernaut of a team to prove a point about the money they spend, but that’s simply not the reality of the situation. The blue jays are extremely good at hitting, like they straight up refuse to chase the ball, and I said coming into the series that they were a horrible matchup for a team like the dodgers who basically needs their starters to either give them 7-8 innings or be flawless through 6 to get through games. I’m not dooming, I don’t think the series will be a blow out in either direction, but this is exactly what happens when a team as good as the blue jays gets to the dodgers starter early
Huge credit to Yesavage, the Dodgers had plenty of chances to blow the game wide open early but he battled. Game looks very different if the Dodgers get 3-4 in the 2nd as opposed to the 1 they ended up with.

The 6th inning last night
Funniest comment award. Somebody asked whats Ohtanis background and someone replied draftkings addict.
In the situation where both batting and pitching team want to switch their player, is there a requirement on who has to do it first? Could Barger’s pinch hitting be “cancelled” or he’s being pinched by another hitter when Dodgers bring in a leftie reliever?
Even after the first game, the Jays are not getting respect.
On Polymarket, the Dodgers are 57% favourites to win tonight’s game and still 55% favourites to win the series.
