Not sure what was expected to change on that front
Some things never change.
We had the 2nd worst PP% in the league before the game vs Colorado also!! Lol
And yet we’re in contention at the top of the league. “I’ll take ‘Things I’m not worried about’ for 500, Alex!”

as a Canucks fan, This must hurt
The more things change, the more things stay the same.
And the second best win %
Do we need a new power play coach? I completely understand that new players will need to find a way to integrate and that’ll take time, but it seems like the lines and strategies over the past few years try to pretend it’s just like 5-on-5, defaulting to dump and chase or low percentage blue line shots far too much.
Seems like this area is ripe for improving with focus and good coaching, but I just haven’t seen that the past few years.
I think the angst wouldn’t be as extreme if this hadn’t been a reoccurring issue with the team for several years. The power play routinely dries up in playoffs and has been a huge reason for the early exits in the postseason. It has not been addressed, and likely will not be addressed.
It’s October 25th, but also lol of course.
We basically play better shorthanded
Or look at it glass half full. I’m shocked it’s not the worst.
This has been a huge problem for years.
Who needs a power play when you can score short handed. We don’t need a power play bc we have a power kill 😀
Imagine what “could be”
You need some selfish guys to have good power plays. Rods system just doesn’t translate well into that requirement. Necas was probably the most adept at being a real PP threat and we sent him away bc he didn’t fit the system.
“Wow omg how shocking. This has never happened before!”

This is the way it has been Rods entire time as head coach
The sad thing is this is a major part of stalling out in the playoffs
