  1. [Doan was an analytical darling in a fourth line role with Utah last season but he’s already leapt to the Sabres’ second line and first powerplay unit. If he can be a two-way play-driving top six winger moving forward, that will make the loss of Peterka sting a whole lot less.](https://imgur.com/a/EI6bk5j)

  2. I love the addition of Doan but another player I’m pleasantly surprised with is Timmins. His energy on defense, shot blocking and active stick in the passing lanes is a great change from previous defenseman

  3. I don’t know if he’s “better” than Peterka, but he plays a different game. And Buffalo absolutely needed Doan’s kind of game in the lineup. Plus, Peterka never looked like he was having fun. Doan is a nice attitude boost too.

  4. I was at the Detroit game and Doan is an absolute animal. Him plus Benson are two dogs that ignite the team around them
