Penguins Get Statement Win over Cup Champs + More Pittsburgh Sports News – SCSR60 (10/24)
Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am Brady Vinie of the Steel City Sports Report and this is SCSR60. Six and two and unexpectedly on fire to start the season are your Pittsburgh Penguins as last night they went down to Sunrise and defeated the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers 5 to3. Sydney Crosby continues to look ageless with a three-point performance. Ben Kindle, I believe, solidified his spot in the NHL for the rest of the year with another fantastic goal. And Tristan Jarry showed flashes of his old All-Star self between the pikes. Is this red-hot start for Pittsburgh sustainable? No one can definitively say, but taking down that great team in the way they did is a very promising sign of things to come for the Pens. Moving over to football, final injury reports came out today for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers ahead of their clash Sunday night. Wide receiver Scotty Miller will not play for the Steelers, but center Zack Frasier is an optimistic questionable after popping up on the report Tuesday with a calf injury. For the Packers, their injury woes are worse, being down a starting defensive lineman and depth wide receiver with more in those departments questionable. That’ll do it for SCSR60.
