Matvei Gridin may already be too good for the minors

Some might even say he always has been!
I feel like a lot of this already knew this, he played well his debut, looked super promising
lol, that’s all I can say
Great to seeing em lighting it up in the ahl
Tbh I think it’s better for him to dominate the AHL until we decide to trade our tradable assets and bring him up for the backend of the season
So why isn’t he playing at the NHL level?
Fuck it, if he ain’t getting time up here, get his confidence up down there to come up and be a beast!
imagine the Gridin/1c/Mckenna line
I think it is completely fine, and often preferable, to have a 19 year old dominate in the AHL. This is especially true if the NHL team is kind of a shit show. He will get tons of minutes, play in all situations, and be able to experiment at will, while working on the finer details of his game.
I am not even saying he should stay down all season, but I see no urgency it making a move to bring him up to the NHL.
The debate of where he should be playing aside, the fact that he’s dominating the AHL as a 19 year old is a very encouraging sign. Kid’s got star potential written all over him
Better he develops in the A this year so we can embrace the tank.
