The Chiefs will surprise EVERYONE with what they do next…

So, the NFL trade deadline is right around the corner and the Chiefs are in the hunt. This is pretty obvious because they are in desperate need for help at one position group in particular. Well, there are some very realistic names that make sense here that I’ll cover in today’s video, including a very familiar face. Then, Casey got some good news about a key player that got banged up in last week’s game. Meanwhile, their next opponent will not have their most important player for Monday Night Football. So, I’ll talk about all that and more in today’s video. But first, how about those? First up, if you didn’t already know, the Chiefs offense is all the way back. They are second in most of these points per drive, yards per drive, offensive EPA per play, that is third, then success rate, and offensive DVOA with the only team ahead of them being the Indianapolis Colts. They are obviously having an electric start to their season. So, good for them. But the fact that the Chiefs are in second in all of these categories while not having Worthy for a couple games, only having Rice back for one and a so- so run game, that is honestly scary for the rest of the NFL. They are the only team, talking about the Chiefs, to score 28 or more over the last four games and are currently averaging 32 points per game during that span. And while I just said the running back room is so so, I do think Pacheco has been playing better the last couple of games. He’s showing a bit better vision, breaking some tackles here or there. His limitations, though, show up in the receiving aspect of things. Over the last two weeks, he’s had five targets, catching two of those for a total of -3 yards. So, he’s not really the guy in that regard, but Brashard Smith definitely is. He caught five passes against the Raiders, four of them being for screens that averaged 10 yards a pop. So, what Pacheco lacks, Brashard Smith does not, at least in the receiving game. and his workload should only increase with time. Then Kareem Hunt is basically a cheat code in short yardage situations. He currently has the third highest short yardage rushing success rate in the NFL only behind Bill Jakori Krosky Merritt and Rashad White. So far this season, if you look at the attempts when Mahomes has been on the field and not garbage time with Mchu, according to Nate Taylor of ESPN, the Chiefs have converted 12 of 14 of their fourth down attempts, which is actually the highest success rate in the league, 85.7% among any team who’s attempted at least 10 fourth down tries. The Chiefs have remained aggressive, going for it when they should have, at the fourth highest rate in the league. And when you convert those 85% of the time, that obviously helps sustain drives and ultimately put up points. And here’s how effective the Chiefs have been at doing just that, putting up points. They are scoring on 52.3% of their drives right now, which is just roughly a half% behind where they were at in 2018 as an offense. That offense obviously was electric. 50 touchdowns, 5,000 yards from Mahomes. And most Chiefs fans have been saying year after year that they missed the 2018 offense. Well, have no fear because again that version of the offense is here sort of from a production standpoint at least. Of course, the personnel looks much different on offense outside of Mahomes, Kelsey, and Kareem Hunt who’s back and still around. All that to say, the offense isn’t the problem here at all. And if I look at the state of the roster, my concern is definitely on the other side of the ball. That’s why coming up next, I want to look at some recent trade rumors and what the Chiefs should or could consider doing to address said weakness, as well as some good news for the team. But first, if you are like me and looking for deodorant that actually lasts with no need for midday reapplication, then the sponsor of today’s video, Mando, is perfect for you. Mando is a deodorant brand built for regular guys who want something that just works. Well, Mando has been just that for me. pretty clutch personally because I get sweaty when recording under these bright lights, but not so much anymore because of their deodorant plus sweat control. It really does last all day for me. Oh, wait. Yep, still smells good. So, yeah, Mando was made to last through the day. And this can apply to other areas on your body as needed. I’ll let you use your imagination, but any other area you need, it’s got you covered. It also helps knowing that they have better ingredients, so you get that effective odor control without the harsh stuff you don’t want on your body. and it’s real life tested. The stuff is built for long shifts, hard work, and active days, not just sitting behind a desk like me under the bright lights, but it’ll work for basically anyone. They’ve even got invisible spray, deodorant wipes, whole body invisible cream, and so much more on their website. So, what are you waiting for? Make sure to check out Mando and get some deodorant for yourself by using my link in the description. And don’t forget to use code chiefs 5 for $5 off your order. Don’t mask it, mando it. All right, so the NFL trade deadline is two Tuesdays from now, November 4th, which leads to a swirl of trade rumors and rightfully so for most teams around the league that are doing really bad. Well, before I get to that, I do have some good news for you guys. Per a source of Bob Fesco of 610 Sports Radio, the Chiefs believe that Trey Smith is going to be okay, which to me says the back injury he sustained early on in the Raiders game causing him to leave and not return isn’t believed to be serious. Now, we obviously need to see how this week looks for him at practice. And since they’re playing on Monday night, you’re not going to get practice reports until Thursday, Friday, Saturday with Chief’s pressers not also being until Thursday, Friday, Saturday. But we’ll see how he does this week. And that doesn’t mean he’s going to play guaranteed against the Commanders on Monday night or anything like that. But it does mean that we shouldn’t expect him to miss several games or be placed on IR, which is great news. Honestly, Mike Caliendo played a great game filling in for Trey Smith. He allowed zero pressures on 32 pass blocking snaps. So, if he has to go on Monday Night Football, I think he will at least be able to play and hang around at a serviceable level. That’s what Jaylen Moore has been doing over at the left tackle spot while Josh Simmons is away from the team for personal reasons. We still don’t know really the full extent or much of the extent of what’s going on with that. And the most recent quote unquote update we have was Clark Hunt being asked yesterday at the league meetings in New York. He was asked and his response to that was, “I can’t really comment.” Earlier this week, Andy Reid basically told the media politely to quit asking about the situation and noted that Brett Vch is handling things. I will say this, the fact that Simmons hasn’t yet been placed on the NFI list tells me one of two things. They either believe he could return sooner rather than later because if you put somebody on the NFI list, they have to miss at least four games, or they could still not know the full scope of what’s going on and are gathering more details before determining the proper move to make. Either way, I just hope whatever is going on with Simmons and andor his family, everything’s okay there. And Jaylen Moore is the next man up. He gave up just two pressures against the Raiders, and I’m going to take that all day, every day. Morris is playing well enough that David Baktiari, the longtime veteran left tackle of the Green Bay Packers, seemingly mistook him for Josh Simmons, saying on Sunday that the Chiefs got a promising young left tackle and quote, “He’s going to be good.” Quite the compliment for Jaylen Moore. Mahomes clearly trusts that O line. He’s playing at a higher confidence level than he has in years and it’s elevating the offense as a whole. It also helps that this is a fantastic group of pass catchers that Patrick has to throw to. You’ve got Guju healthier than ever, flying all around. Kelsey looks more agile than last year. Worthy in his second year. Rice is back. Honestly, Hollywood Brown is looking pretty good. And the list goes on. Taekquin Thornton a true deep threat, more dynamic even than MVS. So yes, it’s a very good group of pass catchers to say the least. But on the subject of health, talking about rice back and healthy flying all around, this is some quote unquote good news for the Chiefs. Although I hate injuries for any team, but it was announced today that the Commanders starting quarterback Jaden Daniels, who sustained a hamstring injury on Sunday and their 22 to 44 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, has already been ruled out of this upcoming game against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football. That means Marcus Mariota, their backup, is going to get the start. He’s going to be facing the Chiefs at Arrowhead, which obviously that name Marcus Mariota gives me some scary flashbacks to the playoff game where he caught his own touchdown pass in that 2017 2018 wildcard round as the Titans ended up winning 22 to 21. I was at that game on that side of the end zone. We’ll never forget it and therefore hope the Chiefs crush the Commanders by at least two scores on Monday night. And yes, I’m letting my pain do the talking here. More on that game this upcoming week. We’ve got time for that. But with the trade deadline just a couple weeks away, the Chiefs obviously need help along the defensive line. They just lost their second round rookie defensive tackle Omar Norman Lot for the season to a torn ACL on Sunday. And that leaves the interior of the Dline pretty thin and looking like this. Chris Jones, Derek Naughty, and Jerry Tiller. Sure, Mike Dana, Charles Amin can kick inside from time to time, but even if Omar Norman Lot was still healthy, I would have been advocating for a trade to be made for a defensive lineman. Well, now I think they should consider a couple of moves. I will backtrack and say if they can figure out a way to trade for Bree Hall, I saw a report today that said some would be willing to give up a fifth round pick for Bree. Trade a fifth for Bree, extend him, and let’s freaking go. But obviously priority number one and two with the offense averaging 32 points per game is going to be the Dline because trenches win championships. So the first move I think the Chiefs should consider making it would be cheap both financially and in draft capital and that would be to go and get defensive tackle Colin Saunders from the Jacksonville Jaguars and bring him back into the fold. He’s on their roster but has been inactive and Saunders could plug and play pretty quickly. you could possibly get him for like a sixth or a seventh round conditional pick or even just a pick swap. And I understand that Saunders wouldn’t massively raise the ceiling here, but through seven games this season, Omar Norman Lot has had five tackles and one sack. So, we just need to bring somebody capable into the room that could play some snaps and keep the floor of this room at least where it was. And I’d only advocate for a minimal move along the interior if they make another move for this pass rusher that I’m about to bring up. However, if the Chiefs want to bring in a guy that’s been more active like Shelby Harris from the Browns or insert name here, I’ll talk about even more here in a bit. I’m certainly not opposed to a bigger move being made at the defensive tackle spot. Okay. But part of me wonders if they got a more threatening pass rusher along the edge on the outside if they could get away with a more minimal move along the interior. That’s why I think the Chiefs should highly consider trading for pass rusher Jaylen Phillips of the Miami Dolphins. He’s already been listed by many as a potential trade candidate. And with the Dolphins looking to soon most likely be sellers, they just keep losing. The move would make sense if the Chiefs can afford it. He’s playing out his fifth year option right now, but has already played seven games, so I think it would cost the Chiefs around $7 million. They would have to free up some cap space since they only have four available right now, but it is certainly possible. And here’s why I like the idea. Phillips has 22 pressures on the year, which would be third on the team, only behind George Caroftus and Chris Jones. Then Phillips has an 18.2 win percentage right now, which is actually higher than George Caroftus and Chris Jones. I don’t think he would be a Josh Uch type of trade either, meaning they trade for him and the guy doesn’t play at all because Jaylen is roughly the same height and weight as George Caroftus. Now, I will say Phillips has a bit of an injury history. He ruptured his Achilles in 2023, tore his ACL as a result of friendly fire in 2024, but he’s only 26 years old, and is clearly playing at a high level right now. Of course, there are other names to consider like the 39-year-old Kolias Campbell of the Cardinals. He’s got three sacks on the year, is playing at a pretty impressive level given his age, and wouldn’t cost nearly as much as Jaylen Phillips. There’s also the 30-year-old defensive tackle Malik Collins from the Browns. He’s got three and a half sacks on the year. So yeah, there certainly are other options, but let me know which option you would prefer in the comments down below. Now, the last thing I want to mention here is Christian Fulton. What the heck is going on there? Some are surmising that he could be a potential trade candidate and even be used to leverage in a player for player trade along the defensive line. So you trade Fulton in exchange for somebody under contract on the Dline and kind of trade contracts as best as you can. Well, it certainly is a possibility. Even Jeremy Fowler listed Christian Fulton as a potential trade candidate for the Chiefs given the fact that he’s been healthy and not playing. The thing for me is I like the idea of having valuable depth in the quarterback room in case injuries hit. Think of last year. You trade away Sneeed. Then Jaylen Watson breaks his ankle and you are really struggling in the cornerback room the rest of the season. So you kind of double dip in the cornerback room. You signed Christian Fulton. You draft Null Williams. Kind of just what you did with the O line. You draft Josh Simmons, but before that you signed Jaylen Moore. Well, look at this. Josh Simmons is away from the team. Jaylen Moore has really stepped up. So, if injuries hit the room, look at the top three corners right now. The next man up in the room if injuries hit would be Joshua Williams. again, if you traded away Christian Fulton. Now, the other hurdle, while I said you could do a player for player trade and try your best to kind of swap contracts, his 2-year, $20 million deal, even if you got a team to take on his contract, would still leave the Chiefs on the hook for roughly like $8 million. That seems like a steep price to pay, especially considering both Josh Williams and Jaylen Watson are on the last year of their rookie deals. And Fulton could certainly have a much bigger role in 2026. Things got even more confusing to me yesterday though when the Chiefs they filled Omar Norman Lot’s roster spot when they placed him on IR by signing quarterback Kevin Nolles from the practice squad to the active roster. I think somebody was trying to poach him and maybe it’s Josh Williams that could be a trade candidate. Nolles can play special teams and that’s primarily what Josh Williams is playing right now. So, you never know. Either way, it’ll be very intriguing to see how things play out in the near future here as the trade deadline approaches. Be sure of this. I’ll keep you all updated every step of the way. Just let me know in the comments down below what you think could end up happening. And until next time, let’s go. Let’s freaking go. How about those

  1. I like the idea of trading for Phillips, but he’d have to be more than a one year rental. Don’t want to give away draft capital for some guy who was gonna walk at the end of the season they’d have to extend him too

  2. Life-long, hardcore out of state Chiefs fan (since the 80s). Flying into KC Monday to attend my first game ever at Arrowhead. I'm so excited for this!!! What should I know about my first game? Where should I get some BBQ before the game? So stoked for Monday, as the Commanders will be running into a KC buzzsaw. How bout those CHIEFS!!!

  3. Ok the chifes are the still the team to beat the raiders got blowed out by the chifes 31 to 0 the raiders is just not a realy good team to brag about beating they are not playing good ball right now yeah I know for the chifes a win is a win for you chifes fans.

  4. Not only did that self caught touchdown pass from Mariota piss me off, but so did the "forward progress" on the play that D Johnson blew up Mariota and causing a game swinging forced fumble.

  5. I have Breece Hall on my fantasy team, so I've been watching him closely this year. He's not an upgrade. I've been trying to deal him every week and no one will trade for him because even though he cracked 100 yards twice (against bad defenses) this year and the rest of the games have been mediocre… and that's with getting fed a lot more than our RBs ever do. He's going to cost a lot and I don't trust him.

  6. The Chiefs cannot stay committed to the run enough to go for a RB. Admittedly, they have run a little more as of late but not enough substantially for it to matter. Our blocking schemes for the most part are pretty vanilla and lack creativity. Defensive tackle all the way.

  7. I assume Khalen not Khalen isn't going to be super interested in coming back because getting cut when he was starting came across as disrespectful
