Bulls Bench Shows Up Big As Bulls Start Season 2-0 After Win Over Magic | Are Bulls Playoff Bound?

Bulls start off 2 and 0 yet again, man. Like the Bulls get another tough, hard-fought victory. Starting off 2 and 0, man. This is big when it comes down to the Chicago Bulls just starting the season off with some fervor, with some fire, and just executing really well. This was another great team win by the Chicago Bulls where the Bulls bench showed up really big for this team in this game. We gonna talk about it. We gonna break it down. You guys know what we do here at Chicago Bulls Central. We gonna get into it all, but you know what we got to do first, right? We got to play that intro. What’s going on, Bulls fans? Welcome to another episode of Chicago Bulls Central, your number one spot for everything Chicago Bulls related. I’m the host, Hayes, but more importantly, you guys can follow the channel at Bull Central Pod on every social media platform we happen to be on. With that said, let’s go ahead and get into this content today, y’all. And the Chicago Bulls get their second dub in a row to start off this season. And uh all I got to do is say this. Y’all know I’m not above being petty. And I’m going to have Give me my petty moment for a second. I’m I’m going look I’mma look everybody in the face. Y’all can clip this. You can feel how it is. This is why when you talk about a team and you cover a team, your job is to not [ __ ] on the team. It’s to it’s to review where the team is and be objective in that. There were so many Bulls, all you Bulls content creators that spent the entirety of this off seasonason talking about how how bad the Chicago Bulls were, how much the Bulls did not improve, how much you did not believe in this team, how much they shouldn’t have resigned Josh Giddy, that they should have let everybody go. Everybody who was doing that all this off season, again, this isn’t to take a victory lap. The Bulls still have a lot that they that they need to show and prove over the course of the season. I want to be clear on that. They have a lot that they still need to show. The season’s not done. There’s not any reason to think that the Bulls still don’t have things that they need to improve on because they do. But this is why in in looking at a team, you should be able to look at what the team is trying to do and objectively talk about it. Because now everybody who said that this team was going to be trash, that this team was going to be garbage, that this team would would have been lucky to win 30 games, all the all the content creators, all the Ricky O’Donnell’s, all the Matt Pex, all the everybody who spent the entirety of the offseason only purely [ __ ] on the Chicago Bulls team. How do you feel now? How do you feel now? because this team has been has has fought in both these games and competed with two teams that that people majority think and believe are going to be playoff teams this season. And this team has fought with those teams. This team has competed with those teams. This team has has gone out there and did exactly what they said they wanted to do this offseason. You know what that is? What did they do? Oh, they they they they locked in on the defensive side of the ball. They they play as a team. They’ve improved in certain areas. It’s like, and that’s what I mean. It’s not about acting like everything’s all great with this team. It’s not about acting like this team still doesn’t have ways that they need to improve. It’s not about none of that. But you can’t you can’t be so caught up in your negative feelings that you completely forget that that this team is putting in work and the process it takes to improve. It’s not as simple as boom, you become a team that can win. It’s a process to get there. The the the trade for Josh Skiddy, guess what? It looks like it’s working. It looks like it’s working. Muselis is working. Iodumu is stepping up. And some of y’all Bulls fans too, the people who have been doubting the Chicago Bulls team and doubting IO Dumu. Y’all got to get it together. Period. You got to get it together. Again, like I said, it’s not about acting like it’s all sunshine and rainbows. The Bulls are 2 and 0 and they still got a lot of stuff that they need to work on and we’re going to talk a little bit about that. But it’s not about being all positive. It’s not about being all negative either. The truth is somewhere down the middle. It’s somewhere down the middle. And people who’ve lost their objectivity in in in in this because they’re so busy talking about we haven’t won a playoff series in 10 years. Well, what the [ __ ] do you think we got to do to get there? It takes steady improvement and picking a direction to get yourself there. Period. people who act like, “Oh, well, if you don’t if you don’t if you’re not whining about this team day in and day out, oh, why why does ownership have you guys so confused? I wish that we believe.” Shut the [ __ ] up. How about that? How about you sit there and you look at this team and you truly evaluate what they’re trying to get. This team is progressing. And that’s what this is about is finding ways to progress day in and day out. And that’s what this team is doing. We still got a long way to go. We still got a very long way to go, but it doesn’t You’re not going to wake up all of a sudden and be a playoff team. It’s about the progress and the steps that needed to get there. Now, let me get off my high horse. This Bulls team came out and competed today and they were led in a lot of ways by the bench. The Bulls had 58 points off the bench today. 58 points. And when you look at the balance that that you brought, and this is why when when Billy Donovan talked about the depth on this team, 16 points from Jaylen Smith, 12 points from Patrick Williams, 11 points from Kevin Herder, 15 points from IO Dumu, four from Julian Phillips as well, which shout out to Julian. He gave the Bulls some good minutes on both sides of the ball. The bench came in here and gave the Bulls everything they need. And keep in mind, Trey Jones is eventually going to go to the bench. We’re missing Zack Collins still off the bench right now. Shout out to Jaylen Smith. Jaylen Smith came in today two for two from three, six from eight from the field. He got his ass in the paint and went to work like we’ve been saying that we want him to see. Shout out to Jaylen Smith for giving the Bulls some really good minutes. Really good minutes to Jaylen Smith give the Bulls today. Uh Patrick Williams. Patrick Williams outplayed Modis Bzelis today. Modis who was in foul trouble. Uh Madison is going to have to learn how to deal with physicality better without fouling. He was one for three today. He only was able to play 12 minutes in this game because of foul trouble. But shout out to P Will. P Will was ready and able to step in to Modest being in foul trouble. He played 29 minutes for the Bulls. He went five of seven from the field with 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals. That is one of the best stat lines that you will find from that you will find from uh from Pwell. P Will came out here and gave the Bulls some serious work today. We needed every bit of it from PW. And I got to get my hats off. Y’all y’all know I’m not a big PW guy. But I got to give PW credit because when when with with the void that we had with Modis Bzelis not playing good. Isaac Auroru played like double ass cheeks tonight. Patrick Williams came in there, played some solid defense on Paulo Ben Carroll and France Vagner and Peew if it I I’ll say this PW isn’t the reason we won the game but we don’t win this game without the performance that Pew gave. I want to say that again for the people that are a little bit slow isn’t the reason we won the game but we wouldn’t have won the game without the performance of PW today. And I feel adamant in saying that we don’t win this game if PW doesn’t give this type of performance. We don’t period. The the contribution of the bench today was palpable and it was and and you felt that. And I I shout out to Billy Donovan for trusting this bench. Shout out to him for going. The Bulls once again had seven players in double figures in this game because we share the rock. We had 26 assists on 39 made baskets. That’s really good percentage there. Once again, the Bulls keeping that that assist percentage around 70%. Which is really good. You’re spreading the ball out. It’s difficult for any team to match that when you’re going to do that. Um, uh, Josh Giddy, 21 points today, eight rebounds, three assist, one steal from Josh Giddy. He had some pretty big buckets in this one, but we got to talk about Trey Jones. Trey Jones with 13 points. He had five rebounds. Keep in mind, Trey Jones is one probably a lot of times one of the smallest players on the court. five rebounds, eight assist, five steals from Trey Jones today. Trey Jones is not a great defender, but he’s a very active defender. And that is why I say so much of defense comes down to activity. And he and he was very active for the Bulls today and gave the Bulls some minutes where they needed everything that Trey Jones brought for this team today. They needed everything that they brought that that they brought for him today. And that’s really good. Um but Isaac Aoro I I listen last game we were plus 60 with Isao Isaac a net rating of plus 60 when Isaac Aoro was on the bench. Today was negative. Uh I mean when he was on the in the game if Isaac is not going to start scoring I I hate to say this but it needs to be back to an open competition for the three. Whether it’s P will Julian Phillips or Denton Terry if we make it I’ll give them 10 games. If we make it 10 games into the season and Aoru’s still playing like this, I don’t care if we’re undefeated. You cannot have a player that’s going to be like he made some defensive plays out there today. But Aoro was a net negative for the Bulls today and he he played like double ass cheeks. It’s not good. We’re going to need better than that, right? Um but we we we’ll see how that comes along for the Chicago Bulls team, man. But um I I just can’t say enough about the heart, the fight, and the competitiveness of this team today. We shot the ball 47% as a team, 37% from three-point range as a team. Today we had a 57% true shooting percentage as well, and an effective field goal shooting percentage of 53%. The Bulls attacked once again. We took 30 shots in the restricted area and another 21 shots in the paint, meaning that um 99% like like the Bulls played a lot in in the paint in the restricted area today. And you love seeing that from this team because keep in mind this is a team that last year was settling for spamming threes a lot. And so I just want to look at it. So that’s 50 61% of our offense came in the paint in the restricted area with 21% coming from above the break threes. So we we we spread out a lot of our a lot of our offense today. I think that’s really good. I think that’s really where you want to be at with that. Uh the Bulls played pretty well in those areas, man. And you just love to see it. Uh the Bulls once again had uh let’s see 26 assists like I said on 39 made baskets. We had uh 20 turnovers in this game. We got to get that together. But eight turnovers were look was rated as bad passes. We got to we got to tighten that up a little bit. Um but it was overall pretty solid for the Bulls today. So that that’s really good. But um once again it just comes down to the heart. This team played really well and they came in and locked in. The Bulls had the lead for 35 minutes in this game. The Orlando Magic had the lead for nine minutes. There are eight lead changes in this game. Um, and the Bulls had the biggest lead of 13 points. They came out here, they performed, they played well, they did it as a team and they locked the [ __ ] in. And that’s what you really love to see about this team. They locked in and they got it done. And once again, I’m going to give Billy Donovan credit. Billy Donovan coached a hell of a game. the rotations that Billy Donovan came with. The fact that he trusted Jaylen Smith and P will right at a time where listen, Jaylen had a terrible preseason. He had a terrible first game, but he came in and he made adjustments and Billy Donovan rolled the hot hand there. And that’s not something that Billy Donovan always does. So, he trusted his trusted his role players to come in there and play. But Trey Jones, I’m extremely impressed with. Um, P will has given us some really good minutes so far this season. Iodumu continues to be a differencemaker for this team. And keep in mind, we did all this so far without Kobe White. Without Kobe White or the player that’s supposed to be our leading scoreer, I tell y’all, like I said, say what you will, I don’t give a damn if I’m being cocky or not. Everybody who’s been telling y’all all off all off all season that there’s no way that this team could be better, that there’s no way that this team can improve, look at all those guys. is look at every single one of them and ask ask them why y’all [ __ ] liars. Ask every single one of them why y’all be lying. Cuz I get I get I I I I truly understand doubting this Bulls team. I truly do. But at the same time, you can’t you can’t act like everything’s all bad, man. And that’s just really what it comes down with for me, bro. You can’t act like everything is all bad for this team because it’s not. everything is not all bad here in Chicago. And um the Bulls now have played two teams that are projected to be playoff teams and they locked in and they played those teams really [ __ ] well and I love to see it. Love to see it, man. Jay Lee says, “Not going to lie, I would like to see Pill Modest and Vu front court.” Listen, if if Isaac Aoro keeps playing the way he does and PW keeps playing the way Pill may work himself back into the starting rotation, and I did not think I’d be saying that at this point in the season. I legitimately did not think I’d be saying that. Um Josh says, “Look, those that still complain about this team are probably tired of how poor the Chicago organizations have been ran. When almost all of them have started to grow, they still want to complain. Like, come on, guys.” Exactly. Exactly. Is Malik Beasley a solid defender? I heard he is if he uh had if we had space on the roster, I wouldn’t mind giving him a chance to start in the front of Isaac Aoro. Um he’s an okay defender. He’s a solid team defender. Here’s the thing. I like just like Kevin Hurders played some pretty solid defense for us. I think that he could. The Bulls have the money to give him if they wanted to. They don’t have the roster spot, so they’d have to wave somebody. Um but yeah, we we’ll see there. Having 68 point guard like Josh Giddy just puts so much pressure on the opposing team. Yeah, I mean and it also allows him to survey the court for sure. For sure. It allows him to play the uh survey the court. So, we’ll see. Not going to lie, I miss Lonzo. I mean, I feel you. I feel you. I miss Lonzo, too. Isaac is guarding some of the top scorers well in the first two games. Now, uh is offense trash so far? But I like him starting. Well, here’s the thing. He played really good defense in the first game. His defense was trash today. His defense was absolutely trash today. A like 6’2 no shoes. Of course, he’s going to have trouble. Isaac Auror is not 6’2 without shoes. That’s just not accurate at all. Pee Will is healthy. You can see the way he moves. He’s been hurt, but the foot is so important uh to movement. Yeah. And listen, while I’m not a big PW guy, I did say the one caveat you could try to give Pee-Wee Will is maybe it was the foot injury. And I I’ll say this, like I said, I’m not going to be like some of those same content creators I’m talking about. I’ll admit when I was wrong so far this season, I was wrong on P Will. P Will looks good. P Will looks good. He looks like he’s back healthy. He looks like dropping the weight has also helped some of his mobility as well. We see we saw Pee Will coming off screens, those type of things more than we saw him in a lot of times. Got to give Pee Will some credit. Uh did Pee Will get a rebound in the second half? if I ask because rebounding tells me he’s bu he’s being active whenever the ball is in the air. Let’s see. I could I could take a look at that for you. Give me one second. Second half. Let’s look at the second half. P Will had one rebound in the entirety of the second half, but he had two assist, a a steal, and a block. No block. No block. No block in the second half, but other things were correct there. The shape, shout out to uh the shape says uh people forget that Vuj herder, Kobe, and Collins are off contract. Tanking doesn’t seem necessary. Well, well, tanking. This bull seemingly wasn’t going to tank anyway. They’ve already said it. They’re not tanking. And also hope that Orlando brick from three. They had 324, but amazing win. Yeah, but here’s the thing. Don’t act like they brick from three like they were just not like the Bulls were closing out on three-pointers. Now, Orlando’s already not a great three-point shooting team, but part of the reason they shot so bad from three was because we pressed and we played really good defense there. So, like, yeah, they went, but we’re not going to talk about it like, oh, well, the Bulls had no part in them shooting bad from three. No, the Bulls absolutely had a part of them shooting bad from three like they did today. I would love Malik Beasley. He would uh fit right in, but I don’t know. Considering the gambling issues going on, despite him not being guilty, I don’t think he’ll be on a team yet. Well, I don’t think any team’s going to cuz the NBA’s doing their own investigation. I don’t think any team is going to sign him until the NBA is done with their investigation because there still could suspend him or something like that. The Bulls have looked dominant these past two games. I mean, outside the fourth quarter against uh the Pistons, uh they were in every quarter of this game. Yeah, for sure. One thing I can’t stand about Billy or any coaches is the pull top players with fouls. Also, was is the pull top players. Why would you not pull top players with fouls? You pull those players because you want them late in the game. Like he pulled Modis early because he knew he wanted Modis in the fourth. And unfortunately, Modis just couldn’t stop fouling. So, no, you you absolutely pull top players with foul trouble. People had an or m Damn, the chat’s refreshing so quick. had an ordinary game but still contributed in our victory. It’s all about team. No, he did not have an ordinary game. He did not. He had a terrible game. So, let’s let’s let’s not bail people out either. He did not have a an ordinary game and he barely contributed. I mean, he contributed from the standpoint that he checked in the game, but no, he did not have an ordinary game. It was a very bad game for Mis Bales. What’s the word? Hey, solid win for sure. You can tell with more sensible and balanced roster construction how much of a difference that makes. Yes, we’ve cleaned up a lot of the terrible havocs from the past, but room to improve. Exactly. There’s still room to improve. There’s still a lot of room for improvement for this Bulls team. We’re not there yet. We haven’t arrived. We’re not there yet, but we got a lot that we still need to improve on. But the thing is is that I don’t like the fact that people didn’t acknowledge that we were improving. Right? You can say that we still have a lot to do, but to also not acknowledge that this team is is making some of the right moves to get to a place of being more competitive, I I don’t I don’t know what to say in that one. I know says, “I was actually look for Pat to get back out there.” Yeah, PE played a really good game today. Really good game. Uh where was Slender Man Noah? I mean, on the bench where he’s going to be, which we already knew. He had that crucial rebound with like 145 left and the steal was at crutch time. After that, he made a terrible pass. Exactly. Exactly. Hey, P Designer was live on the regular channel and had Ringo off the cutwater. You might want to make sure they’re okay. That’s crazy. Not he That’s funny. Great start to the season. Should I get excited because PTSD from prior years? Also, Hayes, loving your work over at Locked on NBA. Appreciate you, Mark Miller. Um, I mean, listen, I’m not going to knock anybody who’s like, “All right, let’s just wait to see 10 games.” Right? Again, it’s not about I understand people being pessimistic. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m not saying don’t be critical. I’m not saying don’t be pessimistic. I’m not saying don’t have questions about this team, right? I want to be clear. I’m not saying any of those things. What I’m saying is that the people who can’t acknowledge that some things are improving for this team, those are the people that I’m talking about. just that just just that microcosm of people. You can still be pessimistic. You can still have your doubts. You should, right? Because we have been through a lot as a fan base, but things are the Bulls have put in some work to improve in some key areas. Very interested to see Pee Will in the starting lineup next to Madus with Kobe playing. I mean, we’ll see. It doesn’t seem like that’s going to be something that’s on Billy Donovan’s table, but with a Coral playing as bad as he is, I just don’t know. Some people can’t analyze like us few fans Hayes, but it’s hard to forecast in general, but if we can see it, we can adjust according to what we see. Exactly. Absolutely. Absolutely. Patty Mills would be a cheap get to teach the young. You don’t need like Patty Mills can’t teach them anything that they don’t know. Like some I I think sometimes people overanalyze what what players teach, right? Patty Mills was at best a decent role player of his career. We already have that here. Um, so I’m I’m not trying to sign Patty Mills to teach. If I want anybody else to teach this team something, I want to sign a player that even if they’re a role player that was just recently going on long playoff runs that was a big part of a playoff type team, that’s what I want to see. Glad you said it about Matt Peek and other content, but because I had to stop following them due to the negativity. When we were losing, they complained. And when we were on a roll last season, they still did. Some people don’t know how to come out of that. Tanking doesn’t work anyway. Just as the process 76 is how many titles they won. Well, look at how many players that they drafted at the time where they were tanking. What they tanked for like five years in a row. Joel Embiid was the only one to stay around. That that’s it. Jalil Oakafer washed out. Michael Carter Williams watched out. Markeel Fols washed out. Like uh uh uh uh Ben Simmons washed out. Right. So like it it and it and it creates such a bad culture when you tank for that long. Right. And that’s that I’m I’m never I’m never a guy that’s that’s that’s that’s down for tanking. That’s just not me. Right now, if you just have a bad basketball team, that’s different. That’s different. Samir in the building says, “Just joined. Is there a reason Giddy didn’t close out the game or was it because the lineup uh that was closing was?” It’s because the lineup that was closing was Giddy didn’t have a bad game. Um he didn’t have a bad game. I I I won’t say that even despite score having 20 points. I won’t say he had the most amazing game either, but he played he played well in this game. Shot the ball efficiently. Uh only had two turnovers in this game. Didn’t have as many assists cuz cuz Trey was cooking. Um and they were trying to keep the ball out of Josh Giddy’s hands, but I think that closing lineup was just cooking and the Bulls had a pretty decent lead at that point. Dan Reyes says, “Modis has to understand how to contribute to the game on rough games like this.” uh against better players like today. Well, I mean, he’s played good against good players, but I think it’s more the physicality. Paulo and France are two players that are going to put their shoulder down and they’re going to try to try to get you. And I’ll say this, there are also some tickytack fouls in there. Now, I would say that probably most of Modis’ fouls were legitimate. Um, but there were just some ticky tacky foul calls, but that’s just part of the growing process. They’re going to get it. It’s part of the growing process. They’ll they’ll they’ll get it together. Need to give Pee-Wee Will a chance. Aoro should never get uh you didn’t finish your statement there Jared. Bench mom’s back. Hey, let’s wait to see when Zack Collins gets back and Trey goes back to the bench. But this is looking like it’s going like the bench is definitely going to be one of the strengths of the Chicago Bulls team this year. Definitely looks like that. What happened to M’s foul trouble? Literally the whole entire game foul trouble. He fouled out in this game in 12. Think about he played 12 minutes. He fouled out. He was in big foul trouble the majority of the game. Looking at the schedule at the start, I wouldn’t have thought they would they would start two and 0. I mean, listen, it’s two games, right? Uh they they have their first 10 12 games are all really tough except a couple of those. So, they still got a lot ahead of them. Let’s see how things continue to go, but this Bulls team is definitely making some strides, man. They’re definitely improving in some areas that are really important that I I would say are really important to sustain success as well. And I think that they’re doing those things really good. So, um, let’s let’s let’s see how it goes and we’ll see how it happens. Man, the Bulls are a tough team right now. And they’re going to keep progressing and, um, we’ll see. We’ll see. Things aren’t done yet. Um, and we’ve seen teams get out to hot starts and kind of fall off. We’ve seen that happen before. So, I’m not going to act like it’s impossible that it can happen for the Chicago Bulls either, but they’re playing pretty well. Is Billy trying to get coach of the year. That’s funny. That’s You know what? After going into the Hall of Fame, if Billy Donovan followed up, like here’s what I’ll say. Let’s let’s let’s I know you’re being silly, but let’s turn this into a real conversation. If the Chicago Bull What how many wins would it take for the Chicago Bulls to for Billy Donovan to get some votes for coaches of the year? I would say probably 45. They won 39 games last season. So that’s only a six game improvement. But if it’s sustained over the course of the entire season and they buil beat keep beating some of the better teams and compete good against the above 500 teams, he can probably get some votes. If the Bulls get 50 wins, then he’s probably getting it because nobody had this team pegged to win that many games. And I’m not saying that the Bulls can win 50 games. Please don’t confuse what I’m saying. I’m just saying that if if we’re if we’re going to try to turn this into a serious conversation and ask what would Billy Donovan have to do for this team to get a to get um for him to get coach of the year, probably 50 wins. And I just I don’t know if that happens. Yeah. 10 games sound good. If we can go seven and three or six and four at least, then it won’t be bad. Exactly. Like I, you know, I came into the season saying, can the Bulls go 500 over the first 10 games? Can they go five and five in the first 10 games? If you get to six and four, seven and three, something like that, that’s an extremely strong start, especially when you’re looking at the strength of schedule that the Bulls have for the month of from the start of the season to the end of November, right? Um, so a little bit like the first four or five weeks of the season. If the Bulls can be above 500 after that, man, the sky really is the limit for this team at that point in time. really does become the limit for this team. Ben Simmons equals checked out. Ben Simmons also equals I don’t know what’s going on with that man’s life. Young Black Wall Street says Patty Mills has an NBA championship with the San Antonio Spurs. What is the problem? He was great with the Spurs. Yeah, how many years ago was that? Again, I’m not saying that Patty Mills is a bad player or that he didn’t accomplish stuff in his NBA, but I’m not signing Patty Mills so he can come, especially when guards already are deepest and best position. I’m good on that. I’d rather sign somebody who has some experience, who still is playing at a really high level, even if they are playing at a high role player level. That’s not Patty Mills where he is right now. I was too busy watching the Cash Money No Limit versus. But to be honest, I wish I turned in to see the Bulls victory. Hey, you missed a game, brother. It was a game, bro. It was really a game. The refs was blowing too many whist. Oh, man. 32 free throws in just the third quarter between the Bulls and the Orlando Magic. Like, yeah, that’s that’s that’s tough. That’s a tough go, man. That’s a tough anyway you look at it. But that does give me, let’s get back into it. Like, the Bulls got to the free throw line what, 22 times in just the second half, which is crazy. But in the game, the Bulls got to the free throw line uh 29 times, which is really solid. Now, the Orlando Magic got there 33 times. Um, but that’s a really good mark for the Bulls who, you know, they need to get to the free throw line a little bit more. Josh Kitty got to the free throw line six times. Trey Jones got there eight times. Again, attacking attacking the paint is going to get you and is going to extend stuff for you. And it’s really good to see that for the Chicago Bulls as well. I would rather wave Carter and sign Precious Aua. I mean, I guess that’s a take. Love the creators, you said, but it irritates my soul. People choose to live in a constant state of negativity despite huge improvements don’t happen instantly. i.e. the Bears got the right people in the building. Yeah. I mean, improvement isn’t all of a sudden. It’s not all of a sudden, you know, it it it takes some time to get there. Um, and you know, I I do think like I get it. Like, we’re all tired of the Chicago Bulls losing. There’s not a Bulls fan out there that’s going to tell you that the last 10 years haven’t been tough as a as a team and as a fan of the team. It’s definitely been tough. It’s been rough, but this team is definitely going in the right places, man. it’s going in the right places. So, we’ll see it continue, man. Uh they’re they’re they’re making forward progress, which is the most important thing. And you just love to see that from this team that they are just doing and trying to do the right things to improve. And that’s and I’ll take that every single time. I want a team that’s competing. I want a team that’s out there fighting. That’s what I want to see. Still need to see them improve in the interior defense and protecting the ball. Yeah. I mean, the turnovers were 18 turnovers today. So again, we had 17 in the last game, 18 today. We got to continue to tighten up those turnovers. Uh how many points did we allow off turnovers? Give me a second. Let’s see. We allowed 29 second chance points. That’s not good. But out of the 18 turnovers we had, we only allowed 13 points off turnovers. We ourselves scored 24 points off 20 turnovers by the Orlando Magic. So at least we were able to to to win that battle. We didn’t win the second chance battle today. Um, but at least we were able to do that. We did win the fast break battle 22 to 10. So, the Bulls got to keep doing those things. Man, Simmons is fishing on the Gold Coast in Australia. Let’s be honest, Simmons is a great defender when he wants to be. Yeah, but it takes more than that. Like, it takes more than that. Like, especially with where he was drafted, I think is that right, man. I can’t wait till Kobe comes back. This is going to be an awesome season. Hey, from your mouth to God’s ears, brother. I hope so. I agree. Foul calls seem to be uh slimmer because of the new rule. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Modis needs to play the small forward for now. Pee Will should play the power forward with the Cororo coming off the bench. Numbers from last year supported. No, they don’t. Uh Modis’ numbers at the at small forward weren’t good. Modis is fine playing power forward. Patrick Williams, I still want to see Pee Will be more consistent before I throw him I throw him in the starting lineup personally. Hector Perez said, “Uh, say we take Aoro out of the starting five. Who slides into the spot? Do you need scoring and Kevin Herder? Defense from P will a balance of both from IO.” Here’s the thing. I really like IO bringing both off the bench. Now, I’m not mad if they start IO. Um, but because they wanted a defender out there, I think you’re looking at either Pew or Julian Phillips or somebody like that like, and you know, like I said, give it give it 10 games. Let’s let’s just give it the 10 games. And if a Cororo does not improve, right, like I said, I’m not worried about a Cororo offensively. Now, I like wide open shots, you can’t miss wide open shots, right? But I’m not really worried about a Cororo giving something offensively, but you if you’re not going to give something offensively, your defense needs to be sound, right? And so, so far this season, P Will’s giving just as good defense with better offense. Again, P Will has had a problem with consistency over his NBA career. So, I can understand not wanting to rely on that’s going to maintain, but if we get 10 15 games into the season and it’s still the way that it has been. I don’t know, bro. I don’t know. Trey Catfish to Houston for 20k to spend on Houston strip club over their shoes. And that’s hilarious. That’s funny. Believe said in press conference he was bringing uh Josh back in the final minutes and Josh said no. I handling it. Josh is such a leader. Shout out. You know what? Shout out to Josh Giddy for saying that. That’s great. That’s really great. Uh, do you see any glaring roster flaws right now? I mean, yeah, we still don’t have rim protection for real. We We still don’t have that. Um, even though we’re better defensively, I think that we’re still giving up a lot of like how many points in the paint did we give up today? Give me one second. Let me pull that up because I want to make sure I’m I’m talking realness and not out the side of my neck. We gave up 58 points in the paint today. So, you know, you need that rim protection. You need better interior defense. But I think that’s really kind of the biggest things right now. Like we’re decent three-point shooting team. Let’s see what we are when Kobe comes back. We’re really good at pushing the break. We’re a really good rebounding team overall offense and defensive rebounding. Um maybe if I could say anything just the player type to add to this team. I want to add a a true 3 and D threat and a lob and rim protecting threat at the center position. So, a true three and D at the wing and then a true rim protector and lob threat. I think if you can get those two things, um, you’d be pretty solid. You’d be a pretty solid team. So, like, like for example, if the Bulls were to swing a trade for Walker Kesler without mortgaging a bunch of their future, I think this team goes from a tough team to a clearly a top six team in the Eastern Conference. My personal opinion. Personal opinion. Take a shot for Pee Will. He playing hard. Take a shot for Pill. You know what? I I’ll match you on that one. I’ll match you on that one. Let’s take a shot for P Will. Shout out to P Will. Brody says, “Do you think when Kobe comes back from injury, it would be a good idea to to try Kobe as the sixman while Trey Jones is balling out?” No. Uh, no. I don’t think that because Kobe can do everything Trey Jones can. Plus, you have you’re a more scoring threat. Like Kobe is a really good passer off drives. Now I do think that Trey Jones is better at protecting the ball. He’s a really good rebounder, which Trey Jones is a solid rebounder. Trey Jones is more active defensively, so I’ll give you that. But um I think you still start now because of the amount of time Kobe’s out. He may start off coming off the bench as they incorporate him back in maybe. Right. But I think your goal is to still start Kobe White and bring Trey off the bench. Is Acme on to something? He may be. Sydney Acme may legitimately be on to something. He may be. We’ll see. We’ll see. I think Aoro will look better if he gets out there with Kobe because the defense will open up on him more. You know what? That is actually a really great point. I I will give you tons of credit on that. That’s a really great point because right now, like Trey Jones can score, but he’s not a scorer, right? Like I that’s different. He’s going to take some shots. He’s going to make some shots. He’s going to put some pressure on some defense for sure. Like I’m that’s not a knock on Trey Jones, but he’s not the scorer that Kobe White is. So with with defensive focusing more on at that point Kobe White offensively, does that free him up even more? Maybe, right? Like that’s why I say like I I want to give it 10 15 games. He’s he hasn’t been playing he didn’t play well today. He played well in last game. He just didn’t shoot the ball well. Um so I’m willing to give it that time. But but but we’ll see. We’ll see. Rim protection and three-point shooter. Uh, you inject fear into a shooter who injects fear if you leave them. Facts 100%. I agree with that. I agree with that. People are calling the Bulls to sign PE will for vet leadership while also calling V to be traded. That’s hilarious. That’s funny. Sydney, if you leave that acme comment again, I’m going to block you. I’m not gonna block him. I’m just talking [ __ ] Hey, is you gonna stay up for the Adelaide versus Melbourne game? Top of the of the ladder back. I’m gonna stay up for it, but I’m gonna let you know right now, I will be high. I got a fat one rolled up that I am smoking as soon as I get done with this. I’m just letting you know right now. That mug is roll. It’s beautiful, too. It may be one of the most beautiful blunts I’ve ever rolled in my life. That’s how pretty that blunt is. So, I will be doing that. I wish AK drafted Walker Kesler instead of whack day. I mean, like that. That’s always going to be something that is such a bl. It’s hard to defend that one, right? Like I could defend the Marco Simonovich not working out. He was a second round pick. I could defend Julian Phillips. He was a second round pick. I can defil defend. No, Patrick Williams and Dalon Terry are AK’s worst picks by far because they were both first round picks and you can see players that were drafted after them that would have helped the Bulls more, right? That like that that Dalen Terry pick and and keep in mind I like Dalen as I love Dalen’s personality. I think that Dalen has a future as like a a tenth guy off a bench as an energy guy. I think he can do that. But like passing up on a a center that brought literally everything you were missing from your center position is always going to be a blemish on this team. They should uh should Kobe earn his way back into the start? No, cuz Kobe is still he still is what he is, man. Hes What if Aoro was a was a scorer with this defense? I mean, what if if was a if we’d all if if was a fifth, we’d all be drunk. Like what if Pee Will was a defender? Like what? What are we talking about? Don’t block me now. Pass the blown over play. That’s hilarious. Julian played solid in his minutes tonight. All we needed uh damn. All we need is like eight solid minutes between him and Denon Terry. Listen, I’m not disagreeing with you. Not disagreeing with you. I was I’m sorry, but if you haven’t earned a opportunity in four years, it is on you. Like I’m sorry. Like the I get it. I get that mindset. People look I I just have a different mindset. People look at things and say, “Well, he hasn’t been given an opportunity.” And I look at it and say, “Well, in four years, what why haven’t you earned an opportunity? As much turnover, as much change has been on this team.” And I don’t even think we can say Dalen has been given opportunity. He averaged 17 minutes per game last year. He has been given an opportunity. He hasn’t done anything with it. on switches identifying they typically made the right read tonight. There were mistakes but overall they had hands up shots that uh second half unless Orlando points in the paint. You’re you’re absolutely right. Absolutely right, bro. Absolutely 100% right. But overall, man, I’m really proud of this team. I’m so happy with what this team has been able to do this season, man. Uh to start starting off the season strong. That was one of my keys to the season for the Bulls is can you start strong? That was really important for me to see this team get off to a strong start because I with this with the schedule that we had, it would have been very easy for the Bulls to get out to a slow start. But they fought, they’ve competed. Um they’ve been really good in most these games and um well in both these games so far. Here’s the thing. There have been way more good Chicago Bulls quarters to start the season than bad Chicago Bulls quarters to start the season. And that’s something that I can take as a fan of this team. That’s something that I want to see as a fan of this team. Can you can you give me more good quarters than bad quarters? And if you do that, good. Like that. That’s that’s the role. That’s what you’re supposed to do. So, like I said, hats off to this team for playing and competing the way that they have. Um they continue to just prove doubters wrong. And I think that that’s that like [ __ ] the doubters, right? Go out there and play be better basketball. And this team is out there and they’re playing really good basketball. They’re playing as a team. They’re staying connected as a team and those things are paying off for this team to have this strong start to the season that they’ve had. Now, can you continue it? That’s the question here. How long are you going to continue to play? Are you going to fall off? Right? And I mean, there’s going to be a losing streak. Every team goes through a losing streak. There will be a losing streak for this team. I want to be clear here. This team will absolutely go through a losing streak of two or more games at some point this season. How do you rebound from that? How consistent are that? Cuz keep in mind at times last season the Bulls will win two, three in a row, lose four, right? So if you can avoid that this season, this can be a really big season for this Bulls team. I think could be a really big season for the Bulls team. It’s nice to not It’s not It’s nice not to have a slow start to the season again. I mean, it’s only two games. The Bulls can lose the next five, right? Um, but you know, starting off the season through these two games looking as good, especially against the level of competition that you were playing against as well, I got to give a hats off to this team because they’re going out there and they’re doing things that a lot of people were not giving them credit or even saying that they had a chance to do and there won’t be people who want to admit that. This team is already doing stuff that people did not want to give this team even even saying that it was a possibility for them to do. And that’s that’s the part that makes me really proud of this team. two and 0. Uh, keep up. Let’s go Bulls. Absolutely, bro. Absolutely. Now, if the Bears win Sunday, that would be a sweet, sweet vic. If the Bears win another game on Sunday, like I I don’t know. I don’t know when’s the last time both my teams have looked this good. So, so I I don’t know, man. I I I don’t know, bro. Like, this is a weird place to be in as a Bulls fan is all I can say. really weird place to be as a Bulls fan, but we shall see. We shall see how things are gonna go, y’all. But I gotta get ready to go do Locked on Bulls. Man, I appreciate you guys for sticking this one out with me. You guys are amazing. THE VOICE OF THE FANS!

  1. The Bulls don't need Patty Mills they have Giddey. Who do they think helps mentor Giddey when they play for Australia. Patty is a depth piece for a contending team and the Bulls aren't that yet.

  2. Valid crash out my guy. The Bulls will surprise a lot of people this year. Usually it's the start that the Bulls have to recover from. They closed the season out last year with a really good record in the last 20 games. If they can keep this momentum going into the season, they can be top 6 in the East imo.

  3. You forgot Joe Cowley.

It's not even about being right or wrong. It's the inability to maintain journalistic objectivity so that they don't paint themselves into a corner like this. It juvenile, low-brow and unprofessional. It's mad amateur.

It's so stupid that it discredits the entire idea that they know journalism OR basketball. So, why watch?

  4. Magic fan here gg Bulls I’m not surprised you guy got the inside game m, the mid game and the outside game while we don’t have an inside game because our Center Wendell Carter Jr suck and we don’t have a good PG

  5. Hot Take: Peck hates Giddey coz Giddey is not a super athletic guy who’s getting paid and successful in the NBA. Peck prefers super athletic guys as makes him feel less of a failure 😅🤣
I can’t listen to that podcast. Their negativity and bias is aggravating

  6. Regardless of how he played today, I still like Okoro. I think some of those shots will fall eventually but I’m not worried about his offense just his defense. He didn’t have a great defensive game overall but we got the W. I’m just waiting for Coby and Collins to come back. With Coby back, I feel like the floor is going to be spaced more and scoring will be that much easier for Okoro and I’m sure Matas will eat easier too.

  7. Word thanks Haize for calling out those negative content creators. Matt Peckerwood is so annoyingly smug and his two co stars aren’t any better either. I hope you bury their podcast.

  8. Ok I’m only in a couple of minutes but I had to tell you I love your opening ! Got to say as a new fan who came over bc of Josh I was struggling to be a bulls fan due to all the negativity especially 1st all the hate the fans piled on Josh due to the trade – then it doubled down when negotiations started for this season – hopefully that finally changes and I become a Bulls Fan and just not a Giddy fan!

  9. no superstar, but all 11 guys can ball. there isn't really that much of a drop off when you go from the starters to the bench players. I think Giddey is the floor general that Lonzo Ball was for the bulls before the injury.

  10. What up Haize hate I missed your live…. but our damn bulls look good and has been approving as a team… mannnnnnn you crashed out on them other so called bulls podcast lol. Keep doing what you do bro I definitely support this channel #seeredmydude

  11. @chicagobullscentral Haize, thank you. Finally calling out Peck. Peck’s negative BS was all wrong, 100% wrong and his toxic commentary about Josh Giddey and the bulls missing two critical pieces in Zach Collins and Coby White while going 2-0. Beating two very high quality opponents in the Pistons and the Magic with major superstars in Cade, Paolo and Franz. And the Giddey lead bulls cooked them both. We have a franchise point guard, a gritty roster in Tre Jones, Huerter, Smith, rising stars in Matas and Coby, and a defensive monsters like Ikoro, and tough ball from Julian Philips and an incredible performance from P Will and Ayo. And incredible start for Vuce who is reminding people I am still a tremendous player and a tremendous talent with outstanding all around game. This team has something, and I think it will be something special. I’m a call them the bad boy bulls

  12. We don't need P Mills on this team. Wth lol. Giddy, Ayo, Jones, Coby, Carter. What is Mills going to do here except take up a valuable roster spot? Hard pass, there.

  13. Thank you Haize. I get being critical, objective analysis is good but some of the opinions on this Bulls team during off and pre-season have been a bit too negative, just for the sake of dumping on the Bulls.

  14. I try to watch the podcast with Mat peck but there so negative now there talking when coby comes back Josh is the one to lose the minutes on the court and peck is so arrogant just saying

  15. Loving the depth also and no ego in the team just confidence and no problem to have some of the starting 5 on the bench last 5 minutes because the bench players where doing the job love your channel mate let’s be positive there will be ups there will be downs pretty confident more ups this season

  16. When is the last time the Bulls were 2-0? Seems like a while. Feels good and I know when we got a squad. Appreciate the coverage, Haize. You do a Hell of a job. Born in '75 and watched every televised game since '89 (All 6 rings). I think Billy and this squad got a chance. Coby is about to go nuts when he is cleared. Giddey ain't D. Rose but he is special. Bench Mob 3

  17. Look how far the pacers got. I don’t think it delusional to say Coby or Giddey could do Tyrese things for us… maybe a stretch but not a bekram yoga stretch as the mamba once said 😂

  18. Hi Haize, I am feeling what you are saying, big time! You know, there is a German Broadcaster and Blogger, projecting the Bulls to be a bottom feeder this season. I did not agree. And after this 2-0 start I felt like "eat your bottom feeder "!

Of course, it is not the season, but 2 wins to begin the season does not look like 25-57. I enhoy your videos so much, mate! Greetings from Germany!

  19. We need a center. Smith is just… not it, honestly—it’s painful to watch him play. Overall, the team is young and they can play; they’ll gain experience, it just takes time. We believe in the Bulls.
