9. ESPN+ has moved to the SN broadcast if you were on the KHN broadcast. Announcers said there was an issue “in the truck.”

15. It was crazy, at the exact same moment my power in Eastlake flickered, the broadcast fizzled out, and my parents lost power over at Magnolia. I mean, I don’t know if it was literally the exact same moment, but it was definitely within a minute or so of each other because we were texting, and then the broadcast went out, and my power flickered, and I asked my mom if the broadcast went off for them, and she said “we just lost power.”

    And yes, the SN broadcast was so boring. It did feel like they weren’t shit talking the Kraken too bad though, as opposed to watching the Mariners playoff games where they just chugged the Blue Jays the entire time. I’d describe their play-by-play people as “objective yet dull; definitely Canadian, but focusing on calling the game vs. rooting for the other team.”

    You know, the next Kraken game I watch (and I believe they said Edzo would be here!) I’m going to listen for how pro-Kraken they are? Off the top of my head I feel like John and JT aren’t exactly “ra ra Seattle; boo other team,” John Fosland definitely calls the game as he sees it, and JT pipes in once in a while to add context. When Edzo is there, it’s less play-by-play, and more John and Edzo bantering back-and-forth and cracking up about bizarre random topics, while John breaks in to call the game often enough to still be an actual play-by-play announcer. I don’t know if they’re skewed pro-Kraken or not though? Obviously they are and I don’t have a problem with that I mean, imagine how much time they spend with the team traveling with everyone for all these years. Honestly, they’re probably incredibly pro-Kraken, because frankly they’re part of the Kraken. Even a big part of the Kraken arguably.

    But in terms of calling an objective game, in my memory it doesn’t seem like they ever down talk the other team. The most pro Kraken skewed stuff is breaking in with specifics about a player or the travel schedule….. color commentary about, for example, Monty, being back after his brother passed away, and how sad that is and how everyone is feeling for him and his family. He might still get that one on an opposing broadcast because the national media or at least social media picked that story up. But other less notable factoids or anecdotes about the boys, I just can’t think of an example.

    I’m going to listen as though I were a fan of the opposing team, who had to watch our broadcast instead of theirs because their power went out lol. I’m just curious, because I know, listening to the commentators during especially the Mariners/Blue Jays series but also it seems like the Tigers series they were down talking the Mariners and up talking the other teams? I don’t know. Maybe everybody feels that way – like if I’m a Blue Jays fan, I’m sitting there being annoyed that the announcers sounds so pro-Mariners? Maybe that’s part of being a sports fan lol.

    Anyway, now I’m completely rambling. See you guys on Tuesday I guess. Go Kraken. Great win last night. Joey looked fantastic as usual (except that one game where he was having an off night) and the fourth line shone (I’m not a big Wints fan, and after last season I was over Karts – love the guy, but I thought he’d hit his ceiling, and Hayds was a better choice for that spot on the fourth line – but he’s been super good this season and I’m happy to have been wrong. I would definitely take Hayds over Wints or Ben Meyers, but the fourth line was humming and if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it) we had Monty back and he looked fantastic (love how many shots that guy takes and can’t believe one or two of them didn’t go in). Really happy with how good we look despite being down Canner and KK.

    I love this team so much. Hope all of your power is back on.
