  1. The Detroit Red Wings have played a total of 6898 regular season games throughout their history.

Before last night they only came back from being down 4 goals and won a total of 4 times.

  2. Was at the game last night and all I can say is WOW! Hands down the best sports game I’ve ever been to. Really fun to be able to see plays develop away from the puck.

But I’ll say this – we are WAY too easy to play against. We don’t initiate contact or finish checks which allows your man to bump back into the play. To be fair, St Louis did the same thing and it’s why they lost. I’d love to see this part of our game improved – especially in our own end.

  3. RIP to any last pretense that I was ever cool. I had posted here that I was thinking about a Subaru. We bought… a minivan.

What Red Wings swag should I get for it?

  4. Well, well, well. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my computer this morning to see that the DRWs won the game last night. I tuned out when they were down 2-0 in the first. I thought “It’s a repeat of last year. This dog has no fight in it.” But to see them fall further behind at 4-0 then comeback to win? Well, call me stupid, but I never thought that would happen- especially after getting buried by the Islanders 7-2.

  5. I thought they were down 2, not 4, so idk what’s crazier them blowing a 4 point lead or us coming back to win 4-6

  6. Help. Your. Goalies.

The amount of bailing out Gibson and Talbot have been doing for us is amazing, but…this isn’t sustainable, b’ys. Even in the good games, they are giving up waaaayyyyyy too many grade AAA chances and the goalies are bailing us out more often than not.

It’s great to get saves we weren’t getting last year. But this team is gonna be fighting for its life most games if they don’t tighten tf up on the back end.

    Wicked comeback, tho.

    End rant.

  7. As many have already said, still a stunned feeling. I didn’t expect them to comeback from that hole. It is good to know we can, but how often can they?

Once Burgers scored, after coaches pep talk, the team was something. LGRW!

  8. Ok so great win, way to dig out of a hole but the boys need to start on time. They defensive positioning is terrible, no one has a clue where they are in their own zone. I know he gets a lot of hate here but put Berggren in the top 6 until Kane is healthy. He’s not perfect but he atleast has some offense to him. Swap Mazur and MBN, dude needs a break let him go to GR and feel good about himself.

  9. My experience is limited, only started going to games two seasons ago when I moved to Detroit, but that was as loud and locked in a crowd at the LCA as I’ve ever seen. First time I’ve seen everyone clapping/yelling the “let’s go Red Wings” chant at the same time, it was glorious to behold.

  10. yeah I still can’t believe that game last night either. it’s hard to overstate how happy I am that TM is head coach.
like others have said, it definitely feels like MBN is ready for GR. but I wonder what they do to replace him. just play both berg & soda? I don’t see them calling up Mazur right away but maybe I’m wrong.

  11. I’m honestly amazed with McLellan. He seems to know how to motivate the team and how often to do it. It’s making more and more sense why the team was so apathetic under Lalonde…

At some point though it’ll have to come from within and I imagine that’s a daily point of emphasis with the Toddfather.

  12. Compher is now tied for 3rd in even strength scoring on the team. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him move into C2 role for the short term with Kasper moving down until he gets going again.

  13. Raymond seems to be dialing in more. I hope we see him more on the scoresheet soon.

The PP needs changing. Play ASP on the top unit more often. Seider is once again being overplayed. And I notice more and more that he and Chiarot are being scored upon.

I sure wish Yzerman would see if San Jose would make a trade involving Ferraro.

  14. I don’t think it’s fair to expect finnie to keep up this pace, but his performance has been exceeding all expectations. 8 points in 9 games.

Asp will continue to get better, and once he finds a way to contribute more offensively – watch out.

Mbn is a tricky one. I think he does belong, but that he would benefit from first line minutes in GR. Mazur in his place might make sense.

  15. People being hard on MBN without really even knowing why he got benched. Meanwhile Kasper seems to dodge any criticism despite being a huge pylon.
