Are The Miami Dolphins Secretly Tanking?
On this episode of Finide the NFL, we are going to dive into a little bit of the film from the Dolphins lost to the Browns. It was ugly, but there’s a few plays I do want to talk about with you. Plus, we got to have the conversation. I’m going to present to you some thoughts, some evidence. Could Mike McDaniel be doing what Brian Flores never wanted to do, and that is tank the right way? We got a lot to talk about. Smash that like button, subscribe if you are new, and as always, let’s get into this. [Music] [Applause] You have got to be kidding me. [Music] Heat. Heat. Touchdown. [Applause] Beautiful day to be a dolphin dance. Let’s go. [Music] What is good, Finn Nation? What’s good? It’s your boy Reason. We’re back here for another one. Appreciate each and every one of you coming through. Do me the favor as you do, please smash that like button. If you’re new, go ahead and subscribe. I appreciate each and everyone taking the time out of your day to come and watch me and spend a little time breaking down the mess in Miami, let’s call it right now, because that’s exactly what it is. But we’re coming off of Monday Night Football. Monday night was quite the eventful night. I mean, let’s talk about football first and foremost, obviously. You had Baker Mayfield and the Bucks losing 24-9 decisively to the Lions. But obviously the big discussion coming out of that game right now is the injury status and really the health injury, the health status, sorry, of Mike Evans. Right. So he’s probably going to miss the remainder of the season with a broken clavicle. So that is the big talking point. And then man, the Seahawks and the Texans, the Seahawks get it done. But man, Jackson Smith and Jigba, I mean, you see what a Mecha Ibuka has done with Ohio State. You see what Jackson Smith and Jigba is doing. You go look right now at Carnell Tate who’s coming out probably this year from Ohio State and the season he’s having with Ohio State. Then you got Jeremiah Smith coming out next year. My god. Ohio State right now. It used to be LSU, but Ohio State right now might be wide receiver U with the products they are putting out there. Crazy crazy stuff right now. But Jackson Smith and Juga, you look at what he’s been doing the last couple games. I mean, my lord, 123 yards against the Texans on Monday Night Football. Week before that against the Jags, 162 yards. and the week before that 132 yards. Jackson Smith and Jigba is rising meteorically right now and it’s crazy. So, um, shout out to Jackson Smith and Jigba and living off that Darnold life, right? Living off that Darnold life, but man, good stuff from the Seattle Seahawks, you know, five and two Seattle. Kind of crazy. So, um, and obviously Monday night in dramatic fashion, my Blue Jays, George Springer, you know, probably displaced Roberto Alamar and Alamar’s hit in the 90, the home run in the 92 ALCS off Dennis Eckersley against the Athletics. That was probably the second biggest hit, not just home run, but hit in Blue Jays history behind obviously Joe Carter game six 93 World Series walk-off home run off Wild Thing Mitch Williams, you know, um in the 93 World Series, that’s obviously going to be the biggest hit. But George Springer’s threerun home run to propel the Blue Jays over the Mariners late in that game last night. Man, that was a moment. I I’ll tell you, you know, as a kid who some of my best childhood memories was watching the Toronto Blue Jays win back-to-back World Series in my grandfather’s den. Man, it’s surreal that they’re going back to the World Series. So beautiful, beautiful stuff, man. Really, it really, really is. So, gotta love it. Gotta love it. Also, I do want to take the time and shout out the sponsor of today’s video. That of course as always is Sleeper. Do you think you know football? So, let’s get into some stuff here. Now, I I want to pitch this to you. I want to have a real conversation with you about is the tank quietly on? Is it secretly on in Miami? Is it one of those hush hush wink wink nod nod things going on Miami right now? And I want I want I want there’s a few things we need to talk about here. Okay. So, the Miami Dolphins season, it’s clearly going sideways. It’s going off the rails. The Miami Dolphins are now one and six. And you got to start asking yourself, you know, and I’m going to present the evidence. I’m going to present my thoughts because I really do want to get your guys’s opinion on this. Are the Miami Dolphins quietly? Are they secretly tanking? And there’s a couple reasons why. Let’s start with the head coach. All right, you look at the head coach right now. Clearly, there’s a divide between him and the quarterback. They’re calling each other out through the media. I mean, through these press conferences, they’re clearly taking shots at each other. It’s evident what’s going on right now. Yet, what is happening? Steven Ross is sitting back. He’s being patient. he’s letting this thing get to nuclear levels. But back to the whole quarterback to, you know, McDaniel dynamic. I mean, I I’ve talked about this. McDaniel can walk into Ross’s office and say, “Listen, you asked me to come in here and rebuild that quarterback. I did that for you. All right, it is done. I got him a Pro Bowl. He led the league in passing. I did that for you. I did what you asked. Now he is broken. Now he can’t run my office. He is request. And I want someone who can properly run this offense and someone I can build from the ground up. I mean, love him or hate him, he’s got a legitimate argument if he wants to say that. That that’s the fact of the matter with Mike McDaniel right now. All right. Now, what if Ross says to him, “Okay, well, you want another chance at a quarterback? I want you to do what Brian Flores never did. I want you to tank.” Because I’ll tell you right now, you look at McDaniel, McDaniel’s the type of guy, if it meant winning, he would have met Tom Brady on the yacht. He would have met Brady on the yacht. And I wonder if he said to him, “Hey, listen. You want your quarterback? You want another shot? You want me to practice some patience? All right, tank. You go get the Cuban missile for Nano Mendoza and you can raise the valuation of my team by 500 million to a billion dollars. Mike, we’re good. I wonder if that’s a conversation that’s legitimately been had. I mean, we already know Stephen Ross, he’s old. He doesn’t like change and he probably doesn’t want any part of another rebuild right now. That’s pretty evident, you know. And then when you look at something, I mean, check this out. What Barry Jackson had to say. He tweeted this out. Listen to this. Um, it has been reiterated to me over and over that Ross is fond of both Gre and McDaniel, though it’s impossible to know how much that personal fondest has contributed to their job security. When I’ve asked a Ross associate why no changes, he cited the owner wanting to give McDaniel and Greer a fair amount of time to turn this around. Yesterday in previous weeks did not qualify in his view as reasons to change from that approach. Who knows what will turn what around? This team’s one and six. That makes no sense. This team would have to win nine out of the next 10 games to even stand a chance at making the playoffs. And the expectation was a playoff win, nothing less. This team might not even win five games. But we continue to hear the reports from Jeremy Fowler and Tom Pelisero and everyone, you know, about how Mike McDaniel is game planning and scheming with a limited quarterback who can’t take hits. You know, clearly McDaniel’s positioning himself. clearly setting up Tua to be the scapegoat if this all goes or not all goes, it already is. If this continues to go to hell. So, you know, very interesting to me. I mean, it’s an interesting conversation to have. It really is right now. You know, we want Ross to be make changes. He’s showing the patience of Job, you know, and maybe he sees this as a quick turnover. They have a really good draft. They infuse more talent. And, you know, maybe he’s in agreement because in all of these reports, we see Greer and McDaniel are thought fondly of, they’re safe. We don’t hear that two is thought fondly of or two is safe. Maybe Ross is in agreement that we got to move on from two and it’s not your fault. Maybe that’s what he’s saying. And he’s saying the best way to move on would be for us to tank. Hint hint, wink wink, Mike. You know, I think that’s a real conversation right now because I mean, you watch the film and and you look at the talent on that roster and you think to yourself, how can they be this bad? Now, getting the number one overall pick sounds nice and dandy until you realize you’re entrusting it with Greer and McDaniel who no matter what way you slice or no matter what McDaniel tries to convince you of, they’ve create help. They’ve been big creators of this mess. They’re some of the main people to blame. And at the end of the day, you’re not going to give a new GM to Mike McDaniel. I mean, are you going to force a GM to keep Mike Daniel and just like, are you going to give Chris Greer a fourth head coach? That would be ludicrous. But again, Steven Ross is practicing this patience and he doesn’t like change, so who knows what he’s thinking. For real. And it doesn’t get any better from there when you realize the decisions Stephen Ross is making at the helm in Miami right now. And I’ll show you exactly what I mean. Check this out. So, with the trade deadline approaching, we’re all wondering what’s going to go on. Well, look at this. The decision on who to trade or whether to trade anyone will extend beyond the desk of general manager Chris Greer. Drew Rosenhouse during his weekly Sunday night insider segment on Fox 7 noted that owner Steven Ross, president Tom Garfinkle, and Ross’ son-in-law, experienced sports executive Dan Silman will quote be very involved in deciding team’s dreadline approach at the trade deadline. Among that group, Ross hasn’t agreed to an interview this decade and the Dolphins have not made Garfinkle available to discuss football matters because that’s side of his general responsibility. So, let me get this straight. In the same breath, we say Tom Garfinkle is going to be very involved in deciding the team’s trade deadline approach. He’s gonna be part of that little committee there. But then we go on to say that he doesn’t discuss football matters because that’s outside his general responsibilities. I mean, and then I mean Tom Garfinko, the guy who’s for F1 and tennis, he’s not a football mind. Why is this guy helping decide what to do with the trade deadline? Dan Silman, Stephen Ross’s son-in-law. Yes, Stephen Ross set up his daughter with a Michigan alum. Dan Silman’s from Michigan. Shock. I know you’re shocked. I know you’re shocked. But on top of that, he’s got no experience doing this kind of stuff. He’s the CEO of Relevant. Relevant. What they do has nothing to do with football. All right? I mean, they’re a live soccer events and media company known for marketing the meteorites for the UEFA men’s club competitions. So, I mean, one guy marketing markets media rights for soccer, the other guy does, you know, puts on events and these guys are making football decisions. And you wonder why Bill Parcell said Stephen Ross doesn’t know how to put the right people in charge. This is your idea for the trade deadline. This is brutal. None of these guys, you know, and I know his name was involved, but Brandon Shore should be having more say than these guys. At least he, you know, knows how to deal with the contracts and the money. And I’m sure he will have some say, but I think it’s kind of wild that, you know, a guy who markets meter rights for soccer and a guy who does like F1 and tennis events, these guys are trade deadline in the NFL, you might as well start taking applications from content creators at this point. If these guys are helping you make these decisions, Stephen, I I I don’t get it. I I just I don’t get it. I I don’t you know again the problems and the dysfunction with this organization starts all the way at the top and we are now just living the effects of the trickle down. So if these are the standards at the top, what are the standards on the field set at? Let’s be real here. So, the film was ugly, but let’s go ahead and get into it because we do got a lot to talk about regarding the film. So, this is what went down from week seven between the Dolphins and the Browns. Let’s go ahead. Let’s get into it and let’s start off here. of course. Um, right now this is a Dolphins first drive of the game after a Browns punt. Second and 10 at the Miami 32. Two in the gun, Gordon to his right. Two players split wide in the back field to each side which are Wadd and Han. One by one receiver set. 21 personnel for Miami. Cover one for the Browns. It’s going to be a quick screen pass right to the top of the left side there. That Han’s going to go ahead and bobble. Um, and because Tua, watch this. He’s going to throw it laterally behind him. The ball is going to be live and that ball is going to be a fumble and achan falls onto it. But this is how they’re starting off, people. All right? You know, this is the Dolph. This is how you start the game off on your most scripted drive of the game. These are the results and this is the execution we’re seeing on the most scripted drive of the game. And this was an early precursor to about what was to come and how the game would go really. So I mean McDaniel would call a screen on the next play to Malik Washington and that would result in a one-yard loss because Brown’s defensive end Alex Wright would read it the whole way. So this drive right here, it would result in nothing more than a punt. So now it’s three nothing after a Browns field goal ended the first quarter. Dolphins ball to start the second quarter. First and 10. Two inner center offset eye formation to the left. One by two receiver set. 22 personnel for the Dolphins. Motion reveals cover three here. And watch this. Ace Chan. He’s going to take the hand off. And watch this. He’s going to delay for a moment and he’s going to hit the R rush lane real quick right there. Jonas Zionaya, Aaron Brewer, Patrick Paul creating the rush lane. Julian Hill, he looks like he’s finishing his block off now, but he’s actually going to end up losing that block. And watch this right there. Han’s going to have to shed that block. Gets up the left side of the field for 46 yards to start this drive, but you kind of felt like, man, missed opportunity not feeling finishing that off again. Watch the left side and Aaron Brewer here. Just a great job by all of the guys involved. Motion reveals the coverage. Julian Hill chips and gets out. And I mean, look at this is why they’re going to continue to give Jonah shots because you get these flashes in the run game even though he can be horrible in pass pro and they’re going to hope that he can get through the pass growing pains. But here you go. Did he get away with a hold there? Maybe. Achan gets through, sheds the block, and he’s up that left side. That is beautiful stuff right there. Again, 46 yard gain. But you did kind of feel like, man, they missed the opportunity here. They needed to finish this off. They didn’t finish it off. And the Miami Dolphins, they would end up not getting six, but having to settle for a field goal to tie it up 3-3. and you immediately felt like this was a missed opportunity by the offense. We need Han to finish off that run, but wasn’t meant to be. And again, Dolphins had to settle for a field goal. Next Browns drive after the Dolphins tied it at three apiece. Third and six. Gabriel in the gun. Judkins is to his right. Two by two receiver set. 11 personnel for the Browns. Dolphins. They’re in cover one. Watch Gabriel. He’s going to take a snap, drop back. He’s going to read Fannon in the slot at the top the whole way. He’s just eyes locked in on him. So, Fannon, he’s going to fight through Minka’s jam and tight coverage off the line right there, which forces him inside. He breaks towards the sideline as out route. And look at that. Look at that. Cuz if you look at because because he forced Fannon inside, Minka look at the leverage. Minka won with the leverage even though Fannon fought through the jam. He wins the leverage battle because look, he’s perfect to undercut that route. But Gabriel actually sails it and Ashen Davis is going to be there for the interception like you saw. But like that’s a win, man. That’s a ticky tacky penalty on Minka Fitzpatrick because Mink is called for a defensive pass interference on this and it overturns the interception. bails the Browns out, rewards them with a big first down. Like, man, that’s a ticky tacky call. That’s an interception, man. All right, so this is the next play after the Ashton Davis interception is called back. It’s first and 10 at the Miami 46. Gabriel’s under center eye formation. One receiver split to the right. Heavy 22 personnel set for the Browns. Cover one for the Dolphins. All right, Jordan Phillips, Bonito Jones, and Matthew Butler. Basically, the whole Dolphins interior here. They’re going to lose immediately at the point of attack. Watch how they’re going to get easily cleared out of the rush lane right there. Watch. I’ll show you. Right. Look, look at that. Look at that lane now. At the top of that where you see 72 at the top of that little scrum is Dodson who for some reason if you watch Dodson here he totally misreads this play. I don’t know he thinks Judkins is going to like kick it out to the left for some reason when clearly the rush lane is developing right there. So he takes that false step inside gets caught behind the mess and look it like where are you going Dodson? So now Datson has no angle. Misses and then whiff by Minka and Judkins is off for the ra to the races. Razle tries to catch up. So does Ethan Bonner. Nope. That’s a house call for six. So 103 Browns after this play. And you know what the difference right now is? The Browns finished off their 46-yd run for a touchdown and Miami didn’t. Look at like where’s Dawson going? Like what what are you doing? Give me a break. I’d also like to point out this is another big run against Miami without Grant on the field. So this is now the ensuing kickoff after the Judkins touchdown. And watch this. Dgridge is going to get the ball punched out by Grant Delpit. Comes D with the return. And right there, balls out. Browns would have the ball at the Dolphins 46. Browns would make it 173 on a Judkins Wildcat touchdown. Like listen, it’s gone bad from bad to worse for Miami and somehow they aren’t even done embarrassing themselves yet. But look at this right contact right there. Ball’s out. So now Dolphins have the ball after the Browns just made it 17-3. Second and 13 after a false start on a Waller on Waller to start this drive off. A two- yard completion to Han. two incompletions in a row, but illegal contact penalty on Harden from the Browns bailed the Dolphins out only to lose three yards on an eight-hand run immediately following the penalty. So, two is in the strong right pistol. Two wide receivers stacked to the right. 21 personnel for Miami. Cover three for the Browns. And watch this. The snap is low. Yes, but Tua totally bobbles it. And it’s obviously a screen. This this timing, you know, right towards Malik. the timing is thrown off and because the timing is thrown off, you know, it’s over because remember on the screen the blocking assignments, a lot of guys are trying to get out into space and to the second level. So, they’re bailing right now, right? They’re not holding the point and trying to protect Tua, right? So, the bad snap and the bobble. This all leads to the timing of the play being thrown off and this is what we get. I saw people trying to like chastise the offensive line for this. This is not on the offensive line. So, I think you’re just lucky it didn’t turn into a pick. You know, two cowowers away from that throw because he didn’t want to take the hit from Mason Graham was bearing down on him. So Dolphins offense would end up punting two plays later and you know that drive went five plays for minus one yards. How impressive. So now the Browns have the ball after that disaster of a Dolphins drive we just saw end. Kenneth Grant was one of the best players on the field from Miami this past weekend. So let’s give him a shine. You got Gabriel the gun running back to his right. Two by one receiver set 11 personnel for the Browns. Cover one for the Dolphins. Grant is going to be lined up as a three tech shading the outside shoulder of the right guard. Watch this. He actually winds up getting under the pads and just moving KT Levenston, you know, the left tackles he ends up engaging with. He just moves him at will towards, you know, right down the line of scrimmage towards the rush lane. Watch this. So it gets under him right there. Hooks him and look at him drive right into that rush lane. And you know, he disengages when he’s near Judkins. Shuts this down for two yard loss. I mean, this is just a great display of power and leverage here by the first rounder. Watch this. He’s shading the right guard, but he engages the right tackle right there. Just drives him down, disengages, and wraps it up and finishes. Two- yard loss. So, now this is the next play after Grant’s run stop for that loss of two yards we just saw. So, second and 12. Gabriel at center. Judkins has the single back. One by two receiver set 11 personnel. Dolphins show cover three off the motion to the left making it a 2x one look here. Grant is once again lined up as the three tech shading the outside shoulder of the Browns right guard. Grant once again winds up being Leon’s target and assignment. And Leon the the right tackle just again he won’t be able to out leverage Grant. He’s going to keep his eyes up and watch this. He’s going to drive him towards Judkins and finish it off right there. And you’re going to see on this next angle here, Judkins is going to try to go low, but it’s right into the waiting arms of Grant for backto-back run stops. This one, no gain at all. So, watch this again. He ends up taking on Leon. Just drives him back, keeps his eyes up, and boom, right there into the rush lane and finishes off. So, Gabriel would be sacked on the play following that run stop and the Browns would punt. So, it’s the Dolphins ball after the punt. still down 17 to3 with a chance to gain some momentum heading into the second half. It’s second and six right here. Two is in the gun. Han to his left. 3x one receiver set. Talation Han. He’s going to motion out to the right. He’s going to make it a 3x two empty set right there. It’s cover one for the Browns. Waddle. Watch Waddle at the bottom of your screen here. He’s going to stab step inside because Tyson Campbell, he’s going to open up inside right towards the middle of the field. And then what happens is after the stab step inside, Wadd’s going to break upside on up the left side on the deep fade route. Two is going to drop a perfect bucket hole shot, but Tyson Campbell, he recovers. And look at this. Gets his forearm in it. Oh, just breaks it up. And you’ll see it better here. If you watch here, two is going to drop a perfect throw. But watch Tyson Campbell. He’s going to get his forearm in Wadd’s chest. Waddle’s not going to be able to get his hands on the ball to wrap it and bring it in. And that’s what’s going to go on right look at see where the arm is right across the chest. Look at ball is a dime but Wadd gets out manned. So Miami would settle for three on that drive. Um but it would get you know cuz it got sloppy after that missed shot. So 17 to6. So Dolphins have the ball to start the second half. First play of the drive. First and 10. Two in the pistol. Two by one receiver set. 21 personnel for Miami. Cover three for the Browns. You know, watch the bottom here. Wadd’s going to come straight open on that quick curl. Han at the bottom of your screen. He’s going to go out into the flat. Wadd’s going to come open, but Tua is going to go to the flat. He’s going to put the ball way too high for a receiver. Han size. Han’s gonna get hands on it, but bobbles it up right there. It’s picked off by Tyson Campbell, who houses it for six. Game was essentially over here, but Tua wasn’t done putting on his worst display of of football as a professional player. But ball way too high, man. Like way too high. So 246 Cleveland. Next Dolphins drive after the Browns pick six. Third and 12 after two plays to start this drive accounted forgative -2 yards. Two in the gun. Hand to his right. One by two receiver set. 21 personnel for Miami. Cover four for the Browns. Tuba has watch this. Tua is going to have checkdowns underneath because everything downfield is going to be pretty well covered. But he’s going to hold on to the ball. And what’s going to happen is he’s going to drop deep and he’s not going to step up. So Paul’s going to get widened out, right? And Achan, he’s not even going to chip the looper, who’s going to be Miles Garrett. Strange is going to be late to get to Garrett. And two is going to feel the pressure from Garrett and he’s going to get finished off for the sack right there. So, I mean, you’ll see it here. I mean, Achan doesn’t even give a chip. Doesn’t even give a chip right there. Could give a chip. Doesn’t give a chip. Cole Strange is notices it. He’s late. Nothing. Look at that. Han whiffs. Sevenyard loss. Dolphins had to punt. Dolphins have the ball back with just under 10 and a half minutes left in the third after the Browns had a punt. Still down 24 to6. Probably to his biggest play of the day. Second and seven. Two in the gun. Gordon to his right. Two by one receiver set. 11 personnel for Miami here. Cover three for the Browns. And watch Schwesinger here. the middle of the field at the 40 yardd line. Middle of the field, you know, he’s just going to get caught reading to his eyes and not widening out towards Connor on the wheel route who is wide open thanks to Nick Westbrook Aeen. He’s going to take the deep defender with him right there. So that opens him out. Schwesinger realizes he’s late cuz he’s now following to his eyes to his steps up. Makes a throw. Boom. 28 yd pickup. This would probably be the last good thing Tua does this game. Miami would turn the ball over on downs four plays after this. So again, Tuba feels the pressure, makes a play around the mess, but it’s not much. It’s probably his best play of the game, and it’s not the best throw of the game. That would be from Quinn yours later on. So good find, but this film was really ugly, man. I don’t know what to say. It was bad everywhere. Miami’s bald again after the another Browns punch. It’s under 12 and a half minutes left in the fourth. Third and 12. of two in the gun. 3x two set, empty backfield, pressed up against the back of the end zone. Cover four for the Browns. Protection is all sliding to the left while Borum was out there on an island one-on-one. Again, no one picks up Delpit. Watch Delpit number nine right there on the second level. Um, you know, watch this. He’s going to come free um through the B gap untouched on the safety blitz. Look at this. Watch this. Right there. Okay, there it is. He’s through. Tua backs up off his back foot, just throws up a prayer. Horrible throw and decision that results in interception. I mean, he’s throwing towards Julian Hill who’s just got a ton of coverage around him. Like, this is just a horrible throw. This is just a horrible decision by Tua. I mean, you know, Tu is falling away from the throw. It’s off his back foot. I mean, look at the bottom of the screen, man. You got an out route. throw it out of bounds, brother. Instead, you give the Browns the ball at the Miami, too. But, I mean, just a horrible decision. Look it. You got Look at you know your routes. You got an out route there. Throw it out of bounds. Like, you can’t throw up middleles prayers off your back foot over the middle of the field. You just can’t. And no one all the production is slid to the left and no one picks up the the blitz. There you go. Brutal Browns, you know, got that ball at the Miami 2. They punched it in on the play after that interception with another Judkins Wildcat TD. He made it 316. So Dolphins have the ball back after the Browns made it 316. Time for the final straw on the play that made McDaniel bench tua two is in the gun. Gordon to his left one by one receiver set 21 personnel for Miami cover three for the Browns and watch this Tua he’s going to try to target Tanner Connor who’s got his hand in the dirt right now on the seam route and watch the safety right um he’s going to easily undercut the throw for two his third interception of the day and Tua has plenty of time here too look it and he’s got routes opening up underneath he’s got routes coming up open underneath but he forces it and there’s not a lot of velocity. It’s intercepted easily. Not much juice on that. Two would be benched for Quinn Eers after this play. Not good. Not good at all. People who are discussing a regression with Tua 110%. This isn’t even the same guy that returned from the concussion last year and put up over 1,600 yards in those first six games. This is bad. So after a rough start on Uers’s first drive, this is his second drive at quarterback. He winds up making the best throw of the day by a Dolphins quarterback. It’s first and 10 at the Miami 20 after Uers just converted a fourth and four on a 5yd slant to Destridge. Uers in the gun. Gordon to his left, 1×3 receiver set, 11 personnel for the Dolphins. Cover three for the Browns. And watch this. Shelby Harris is going to steamroll Jonas Savania with a bull rush that’s going to put Jonah on his ass. Uers is going to take a hit from Harris. He’s going to launch a dime to Escridge right there on the go route up the left sideline. Egridge makes a catch. What a great job of tracking the ball and hauling it in through the tight coverage. 40 yardd gain. This is great stuff from Quinn Eur. But Miami still loses 316 in embarrassing fashion to the Cleveland Browns. And watch Jonah just get absolutely manhandled. So you see him do great things in the run game and then like earlier for that 46 yard achan run but then you see things like that in pass pro and man it’s a rough go right now for the kid but I’m telling you the stuff you see in run sets is why they haven’t pulled the plug on this yet. I’m telling you that’s why right now man. But tough tough stuff. I mean, that film was some of the worst film I’ve watched. I mean, you know, usually I have troubles trimming it down to under 20. I mean, I had no problem getting to 15. I even stretched it. I could have probably done 12. I mean, it was bad. And it was bad all over, you know? It was not, let me tell you that. I dreaded having to chop that stuff up. So, but I mean, you look at the performance, you know, you hear the narratives in the media about, well, if fans stop coming to games and if players look like they’re out, and I’m going to tell you this, if you go and you watch the All 22, I don’t know how you come away from that thinking everyone’s still bought in in the vision and what the what they want to do in Miami because there are a lot of people who don’t care and it looks like the quarterback don’t even care. And if you don’t care, if you’re checked out, you got to go. And that goes for anyone in that locker room because it is embarrassing. It’s one thing to lose and get blown out by the Colts because look at the team they turned into, but Ju got blown out by another one in five team. I had Daniel Fousey up here for the preview and he literally said he thought it’d be a close game because neither one of these teams were good enough to blow the other out. And look at what happened. Guys, smash that like button. Subscribe if you are new. I’m going to see you on Wednesday with Richmond and ball game. Thursday, I’ll be back with Neil. We’re going to do it all again this week for more Dolphins football. So, I’ll see you on the next one. Fins up all day, every day. Have a fantastic rest of your day, evening, night, morning, wherever you are, whatever time of the day it is. You have a great day. Talk to you later.

Im fine with the McDaniels, but Grier needs to go.
It's not tanking we just suck 😭😭😭😭😭
As long as Tua's our QB we'll always be tanking.. He needs to pick up his interception rate a little if he wants the record of 42.. But he's doing good so far!
Tanking is what Dolphins do best…. Tankers since the late 90's … they are venturing into "Unwatchable" territory.
everyone with two eyes know excatly what wrong with this dolphins team
i would put tua…… the last problem and the first problem starts with the GM
Dante Moore or Sam Levitt would be fun in McDaniel’s offense
I honestly don´t think the team is purposely tanking, the Coach is simply very very bad at what he does hence the team is bad. Now that we are 1-6 I am onboard to just tank and blow this whole thing up. The problem here is, who is selecting the new QB and who is developing that player? There is no answer. This is the whole Philbin situation repeating itself again.
Why are you on Silman’s case? This is Good News because the Owmership group (finally) needs to take control over whether the Dolphins trade players and reset. They are directing Grier, do you trust Grier?!?! They can hire and buy all the outside football consultants they want … bad take their Bruh, this is encouraging
This is the worst offensive talented team for Tua. DVP and Gesicki was better
"Competitive" tanking. Retooling the rebuild. There's NBA teams that do this for years & years. Then team reporters tell the fans "winning doesn't matter", it's more exciting to watch young players grow.
Hope so
28:50 perfect example of Mike McDaniel's ineptness that play only had ONE BUILT IN OPTION!!!!!!
We can’t win with McGoofball…He is not a leader of Men. Period
35:10 pass isn't a good sign for Tua's health if that hip or something else. No reason to not get that ball there with the room in front of him
No chance he would tank. He takes her personal relationships with players way too seriously for, that. He know their future is on what goes in tape. He knows that’s thier families legacy. He would never agree to that. I do want to know why he and tua r fighting though. I’m hearing he is jealous of Tua and his coach’s relationship 😊
They aren’t tanking. Grier set up Tua and McD to fail with this roster. He wants them all gone
I’ll take ’the most Ross-like moves’ for $200, Reason. This franchise might be the most brain dead in NFL history. At what point can we petition the NFL do something about the dysfunction that is this ownership?
Yes. You can see it!!
I think that’s GREAT news Garfinkle etc r discussing due to the fact that it sounds Grier is not being allowed decisions anymore!!! Great news!
At this point I don’t care. Whatever gets us our highest draft pick so we can get our new franchise qb. The hip injury ruined Tua, and whatever happened last season with his hip made it worse. Love him as a person but he’s broken as a QB in Miami
Thanks for keeping it objective and calm. Seen way too many people crashing out lately
I think Tua is in business for himself. He saw what happened to Burrow behind a bad line and he wants no part of that. I’d actually rather see him reset his career somewhere else. He’s been here for 6 years and has still not had a consistent line and trusty TE for more than a season.
Trusting McDaniel and Grier to rebuild with a top 5 pick would be disastrous. McDaniel was the one who convinced the 9ers to take Trey Lance. Grier has continually missed on depth pieces, extending players, and signing injury prone players. I’d feel better if we were a QB away, but we’re multiple OL positions, TE, DBs, LBs away. You can’t just swap a QB and magically get a playoff win.
You’re right it starts at the top. If Ross won’t go then time to get a new HC/GM and be hands off. QB is downstream of that
Nobody tries harder than Tua. He puts more prep in than anyone. Is there before anyone. Of course he cares. He’s hurt, limping. He never got over his hip in. My opinion from last yr
Hey reason for unfortunately we are die hard dolphin fans been a fan since 85 at least our baseball teams are in the work series you blue jays and myself a dodger fan
If I was Ross and McDaniel came into my office and said that he wanted a new QB I would tell him to respectfully screw his legitimate argument. That argument only holds water if we're a "QB away" from being an elite offense. He still can't get plays in on time, he still loses challenges and he still doesn't have a feeling for the pacing of the game and that's for whoever the QB is. If you really sit and think about it it's a weak attempt at saving his job and if I were Ross, it wouldn't work. Bye Mike!
Mc Daniel was asked to tank for John Harbaugh
Why would you tank a football game, I don't believe that football players tank, you can get hurt doing that, you have to go 100%!
Why would Tua tank?
Ain't no secret are you watching the same game? Stupid question 😒
What’s the worst that can happen reason, if those guys are making decisions with Ross and company . Grier has done football scouting and gm role now for 2 decades and he produces terrible choices 70% of the time .. most of us could draft better …how could they be any worse then Grier
Tanking for who exactly, I don't see no star QB in this year draft that can change a franchise around. Even if we end up with the 4th pick we need Ol, DL, Saftety, Corner, RB2, LB. We have too many needs.
Its all Gaslighting, why have we not had a qualified head coach since Jimmy Johnson? Name one? Philbin OC GB, One win Cam OC SD, THEN we invent a hero in the late great Sparano who was just a positions coach! BUT Parcells sadly was really the puppet master behind the winning and took the keys to the T bird away. Since Wannestedt with Fiedler, carried over a winning season or two what has happened…… Nothing but postion coaches not even OC or DC or teams! FLO was a linebackers coach, MCD a running backs coach. Fins went GM/Coach route sort of twice and when was the last playoff win?
Jonah, chop,Achane,Paul, grantwill be fine, just might not be in senile Miami. Waddle2
U didn’t show the 2 drops.. 1 by Malik Washington and 1 by Tanner Conner both on 3rd downs that killed drives…
They were definitely tanking. But they don't need to embarrass the fans and can keep the game close at least
Next episode please compare and contrast the Dolphins to the late stage collapse of the Weimar Republic…
Springer forever a cheater zero respect for that trash can beaten bum
Man I wish they could get Brian Hartline on the staff as a OC next year man Is a Wr whisper
Mendoza???
Lanorris Sellers look solid
