Trevor Story To Yankees, Zac Gallen To Yankees | 5 New York Yankees Signings That Could Happen

So, in this New York Yankees video, I am going to be going over five realistic New York Yankee signings that I think could happen this 202526 MLB off season. As always, leave your thoughts down below in the comment section of this video and let’s get right into it. So, the first player that I think the Yankees could realistically be signing this off season is Zack Gallon of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now, I think there’s a pretty good chance that Zack Gallon does remain on the Diamondbacks this off season. Uh the Dbacks of course elected to not trade him at the deadline. Uh instead keeping him when his contract was expiring and this team was well out of a playoff spot. So perhaps there is mutual interest with both that uh with both Zack Allen and the Diamondbacks to get a deal done. But if he is on the open market and he is seeing other teams in free agency, the Yankees could make a lot of sense as sort of a bottom of the rotation guy or a player that you maybe buy low on with some potential high upside uh given the year that he had this past year. So for Zack Allen last year in Arizona, it was not pretty by any stretch. He had a 1.1 more season, 13 wins, 15 losses, an RA of 4.83. 33 games played, 192 innings pitched with 175 strikeouts, and a whip of 1.260. So for Zack Allen, it was not the he was hoping to have heading into a contract season. Uh keep in mind, a couple years ago in 2023, he was named to the All-Star game. He was a finalist for the Sai Young award and he of course was also too in somewhat of the conversation for the uh you know the NL MVP. So Zack Owen once you know not too far removed from having some fantastic years in 2022 and 2023. The last couple years haven’t been as pretty this year in specific. So a bit of a regression year for Zack Allen. But he could be a good player that as I mentioned before for the Yankees to kind of buy low on. uh maybe give this guy a shorterterm deal, maybe more of a prove it contract with the upside being quite high in my opinion. He’s also from New Jersey, so perhaps the uh the you know the possibility of playing closer to home could be of interest to him. Uh as I mentioned before, maybe on a short-term deal this could, you know, benefit both sides. And he’s only 30 years old as well. So, uh he still has some productive years left and he should not be falling off a cliff sort of like, you know, what he did last year. So, as of right now, this Yankees rotation, you know, when healthy has Garrick Cole, has Carlos Rodon. So, uh maybe those guys when they come back from their injuries, they are a little bit older as well. So, that’s something the Yankees have to keep an eye on is maybe getting a little bit younger in the rotation. Uh they still have Max Freed, they still have Cam Schlitler, uh they have Luis Hill, they have Will Warren. So, they actually have some arms in their rotation uh for the 2026 season. And they can get kind of flexible. So maybe someone like Zack Allen moves to the bullpen or maybe they get creative with Will Warren. Like whatever the case may be, I don’t think it’s a bad problem to have for the Yankees to go after a player of Zack Allen’s caliber. A player that grew up in New Jersey that, you know, as I mentioned before, playing closer to home. And at the very worst, you have some more options for your bullpen, which the Yankees desperately have to address in my opinion this off seasonason. So it’s more of maybe more of like a buy low, short-term deal guy. I think Zack Allen realistically speaking makes a lot of sense for the Bronx Bombers this off season. The next player that I think the Yankees could realistically be signing this off season is Andrew Kitrich uh of the Chicago Cubs. So Andrew Kitrich is a player that is very familiar uh with the American League East division. Uh this past year he split time between the Baltimore Orioles and of course the Chicago Cubs. and prior to that, for the majority of his career, he was a member of the Rays, being named to the All-Star game uh in 2021. So, I think in regards to adding players to the bullpen, I think Andrew Kitri is a pretty solid option that likely won’t cost you a ton of money. Uh given the fact that he is going to be 36 years old next season, maybe a one or a two-year deal is pretty good for someone of his caliber. And this past year for Andrew Kitrich, uh he had a pretty solid season. He had a 0.6 six war, four wins, three losses, an erra of 3.4. In 54 games played, he had five recorded saves, uh 53 innings pitched, 64 strikeouts, and a whip of 0.981. So, the Yankees have to address the bullpen this off season. Now, there is a team option for 2026, which, you know, the Cubs could very well pick up. So, if that’s the case, then obviously he won’t be available. But if he does hit the open market, which I think he likely will, the Yankees have to be a team of interest and they make a lot of sense. Like yes, he’s an older player, but uh they have a lot of bullpen arms that are expiring contracts and they really have to address that, you know, that position uh this off season in my opinion. So, I think Andrew Kitrich, he knows the ballparks well, he knows the organizations well, he knows the division well. He could be a really good player. Like give this guy one maybe a two-year contract, whatever the case may be. Uh stabilize the bullpen a little bit. He’s a player that can go and play more of a setup role or whatever the case may be. I think he checks a lot of boxes for this team. Like not the flashiest name by any stretch, but a player that can get the job done. A player that can be pretty reliable. A player that also too has been relatively healthy the last two or three seasons and he can just bring a lot of value to the table in my personal opinion. So, I think in regards to realistic options, looking at the bullpen here, I think uh Andrew Kitrich is a good player that isn’t going to cost him too much financially speaking, can be pretty reliable, and also knows the division pretty well, having played for the Orioles and of course the Rays for as long as he did. So, I think another player that I think makes a lot of sense, realistically speaking, for the Yankees to sign this off season is Andrew Kitridge of the Chicago Cubs. Sticking with the theme of the bullpen for this next player, I want to talk about Wii Peralta as another option. realistically speaking for the Yankees this off season. So Wii Peralta, just like Andrew Kitridge, would of course address the bullpen concerns the Yankees have heading into this off season. Now Wandy Peralta had himself a pretty awesome year this past year in my opinion uh for the Padres. He had a 1.1 more season, six wins, one loss, a 3.14 RA, and 71 games played. Uh he didn’t have a single save, so a nice player that can perhaps set up Bedar or whatever the case may be. has 71 innings pitched, 63 strikeouts, and a whip a little bit high of 1.340. So, Wani Peralta does have a player option for 2026 and 2027. Given the fact that he is a little bit up there in age, he is going to be 34 years old, maybe he does opt into that. But if he’s able to get maybe a longer contract or whatever the case may be, he could be a player on the open market this offseason. So, I sort of like Andrew Kitrich, an older veteran presence uh to come out of the bullpen that can play more of like a seventh, eighth inning role, whatever the case may be, especially to if Devin Williams does depart the team this off season, then they’re going to need some more bullpen help in regards to sort of the seventh and eighth inning when setting up David Bednar. So, a player that Yankees fans of course do know well, uh dating back to his time with the Bronx Bombers in 2022 and 2023. So, uh perhaps a reunion could be in store. The last couple years for the Padres’s have been pretty solid. He of course had better seasons before that with the Yankees. So, uh maybe this could be sort of a full circle moment where he comes back to the Yankees, performs pretty well, and finishes off his career for the last couple years uh with the Yankees. So, I think Wandy Peralta makes a lot of sense. He’s also a lefty arm as well. So, in regards to looking for lefty arms coming out of the bullpen, uh Wii Peralta has to be up there as one of the better options available this off season. He’s not going to cost you a ton, I would imagine. And the Yankees have to solidify the bullpen. As I mentioned before, they have a lot of arms uh possibly leaving the team this off season. And it was a problem for them last offse or last year. Uh which of course was pretty evident come playoff time. So I think I think the Yankees have to address the bullpen. It’s never a super flashy topic to talk about, but it’s very important especially come playoff time. Uh look at the Dodgers. Uh look at the Blue Jays. Their rotations and their bullpens are pretty deep in my opinion right now. And both these teams are in the World Series. So, I think if the Yankees want to sort of uh maybe uh circle back on a player that they’re familiar with, Wani Peralta could make a lot of sense. And realistically speaking, I think a reunion could be in store if he does hit the open market this off seasonason. So, the third player is Wandi Peralta of the San Diego Padres’s. So, shifting gears a little bit to the first base market or the outfielder market. I want to talk about Ryan O’Harn as a possibility for the Yankees this off season. So Rhino Hearn this past year actually had himself a fairly solid season. Uh he had a 2.4 war, 133 hits, 17 home runs, a 281 batting average, uh 67 runs scored, 63 RBI’s, three stolen bases, and on base of 366, a 437 slug, an OPS of 803, and an OPS plus of 125. So a pretty damn good year for Rhino Hearn uh heading into a free agent year this offseason. Now, he of course was traded from Baltimore over to San Diego uh during this past MLB trade deadline. His numbers did take a slight bit of a hit uh when he went to San Diego, but he of course was playing for a better team. Uh whereas in Baltimore, he was really good for the Orioles and he actually was named to the All-Star game this past year for the first time in his MLB career. So where I think Ryan O’Harn could actually fit the bill here for the Yankees just in regards to another option at first base or maybe even a corner outfielder spots on some players days off. So they have the flexibility with having O’Harn playing and right or play first. I think having a platoon option with Ben Rice at first base currently is sort of what the Yankees are eyeing heading into the 2025 26 off seasonason. So, I think that, you know, someone like Ryan O’Harn is a good combination of a player that can bring some good production to the table and also too kind of be flexible defensively speaking. So, he’s a player that is only 32 years old as well. So, perhaps giving this guy a multi-year deal, it would not be super intimidating in my opinion. Now, he did come off a career season this past year compared to years prior. So, uh, there of course is a risk of maybe giving this guy maybe a bigger contract than what he deserves, but just, you know, historically speaking, he’s been sort of around the 10 to 15 home run mark, kind of around that 60 RBI mark, especially from 2023 to 2025. So, I don’t think financially speaking, it’s going to cost them a ton. Uh, I think that if Paul Goldmid does depart the team, which I think also point towards that likely happening, I think adding a good lefty bat at first that can also play in the outfield that can also platoon. Uh, with Ben Rice, that of course being Ryan O’Harn, it makes a lot of sense. He knows the division as well. Uh, playing the last couple years prior to the trade to San Diego in Baltimore. And he could be a really cool fit. Like I said, I like adding a first base option that’s a lefty hitter. I I think he can bring some good production to the table. maybe maybe in this ballpark of 15 to 20 home run guy, maybe north of 60 RBI’s and a player that can get on base at a pretty reasonable and healthy clip. So, I think Rhino Hearn makes a lot of sense as a platoon option for Ben Rice this off season. Now, is that going to happen? I guess only time will tell. But the fourth player that I think makes sense realistically speaking is Ryan O’Harn of the San Diego Padres’s. The fifth player that I think could realistically make sense for the Yankees if he does hit the open market. I’m not a 100% sure if that’s going to happen, but that’s Trevor Story of the Boston Red Sox. So Trevor Story is a pretty intriguing player because I I do believe that he is going to pick up uh his his option this off seasonason. But if he does, of course, decide to opt out of his contract, uh, which I don’t think he’s going to do, and he does hit the open market, the Yankees could use him just in regards to, um, a a production value at the shortstop position. So, Trevor Story this past year for the Red Sox had himself a solid season, a 3.8 8 war, 161 hits, 25 home runs, a 263 batting average, uh 91 runs scored, 96 RPIs, 31 stolen bases, an odd base of just 308, a 43 slug at OPS of 741, and an OPS plus of 104. So, I think Trevor Story’s tenure so far in Boston hasn’t really been uh what they were hoping for, you know, compared to his time in Colorado. Now, this past year, he was healthy, playing in 157 games. Prior to that, he’s been very unhealthy. So, it’s a bit of a gamble for him if he actually does opt out of his deal and hits the open market in regards to what contract he could be getting. So, I fully expect Trevor Story to remain on the Red Sox. I think I think that he has two years remaining if he opts in to his deal. So, uh I think around $25 million per year, too, if I’m not mistaken. So, it’s in his best interest financially speaking to opt in. But if there’s a chance he can get a multi-year deal, and this past year he had a pretty good season, it could be possible for the Yankees, like I think that someone like the Yankees need to address shortstop this off season. I don’t see a world where Anthony Vulp can be the starting shortstop come 2026. Now, could that very well be the case? I would say likely, but I think in a perfect world, you find a trade sutor for Anthony Vulp, find a replacement in the meantime at shortstop, and Trevor Story could very well be that guy. Like I don’t think that there’s going to be a world where the Red Sox and Yankees make a trade of this magnitude because financially speaking there’s some risk especially if he opts into his deal. There’s some risk. But if Trevor Sto is looking for a change of scenery, perhaps a three or a four-year deal, maybe somewhere around that $20 million per year mark, I think I would gamble on this personally speaking. Like Trevor Story can be productive at the plate. He knows the American League East while having played there the last couple years and he can play pretty well in New York if he is healthy. Uh there of course are concerns, but uh yeah, he can be healthy. So yeah, Trevor Story is definitely a big-time upgrade at the shortstop position for the Yankees. Offensively speaking, defensively speaking, you know, it is what it is, but I I think that at this point the Yankees have to find an upgrade over Anthony Vulp. And if Trevor Story is that guy, he could very well be an option this off seasonason. So Trevor Story is going to be 33. So, not a player that I would like to solve or like to sign long term, but if it’s a short-term deal or whatever the case may be, maybe approve a contract, you throw in some team options in there, it could be possible. I expect him to opt into his deal, but if he doesn’t and he is on the open market, could the Yankees be an option? I think realistically speaking, they should at least consider it uh given how thin the shortstop market actually is this off season. So, that is going to be it for this video.
