My teaser:
In a night where special teams took over, the Jets beat Calgary by outscoring them where it mattered — even if 5v5 hockey "barely happened."
But yes, here's my analytical recap of the game, but also for paid subscribers I have microstats for both of the last two games available.
As always, let me know your thoughts and such.
Also, please give me questions for tomorrow's mailbag!

Wouldn’t this be Game 8? We seem to have missed the Seattle game somewhere in the mix.
Right now, the Jets appear to be a bad 5v5 team and a very good special teams team. Which, you know, you can certainly win games that way, Jets being a case in point. But it’s not a recipe for long-term success, which is concerning. The Jets have had a *very* soft schedule to start the season, and while they’re beating the teams they *should* beat, they’ve struggled against actual contenders. No disciplined team is going to give up 9 penalties in a single game.
I suspect, though, that we’ll see the Jets 5v5 play bounce back quite a bit once Lowry and Samberg return, both being excellent posession players. Assuming this returns the Jets 5v5 play to ‘average’, can an average 5v5 but excellent PP/PK team have long-term success? Can they win it big?
