Is It Time To Tank For The Calgary Flames? #shorts
What is Calgary’s identity right now and what is their plan? Like they’re a team right now that I feel like you have no idea what their next two or three years could look like. They have a new building due in 2 years. I think they’re really excited about it. It sounds like it’s going to be beautiful. Um I think that their whole plan is let’s be ready by the time the new building comes in. The other thing you guys have to re remember is that Calgary went through a series a few years ago where they missed the playoffs for a whole bunch of years and they saw what that did to their fan base. Obviously, it makes it harder to sell tickets. It’s harder to get interest in your organization. Your whole organization struggles on and off the ice and I don’t think they’ve forgotten that too easily. I’ve been told they haven’t forgotten that. So last year they they just missed the playoffs with a team that really works hard and I think they were hoping that this year would be similar. The thing that I think they have to be really careful about is don’t go for the quick fix. Don’t do that. Do not make a short-term move. Like what’s Calgary’s biggest problem? It’s hard for them to score. They have talented players, but it’s hard for them to score. This is going to be difficult for them to hear, but if this is going to be a rough season, this is a great draft.
