RAPSHEET: Vikings QB JJ McCarthy Expected to Start Next Sunday at Detroit

So, the Minnesota fine Vikings basically bet the franchise on Jonathan James McCarthy this off season where Kevin McConnell Quacy’s extension sync up with McCarthy’s rookie deal. I don’t think that’s accident, right? And they chose not to resign Sam Darnold. Didn’t bring back Daniel Jones. They they didn’t bring in Aon Rogers and they’re like all in. Uh, feeling fine betting on number nine. That’s right, man. But then of course, you know, two two games, two games in just say first game, first three quarters were ass. Thank you. Furious fourth quarter comeback win at the Bears. Something beautiful to see and I feel like it’s something that people have forgotten. I mean, sort of out of sight, out of mind. the reigning defending week one NFC offensive player of the week and then against the Falcons who apparently the Falcons are just complete dog doodoo by the way that they’ve lost what was it 61 to3 combined to the Panthers and the Dolphins yeah but yeah JJ McCarthy out there high ankle sprain played the fourth quarter on the high ankle sprain I think it’s fair to ask did it make it worse don’t really know but toughness is unquestionable right uh and then we’ve had a couple weeks of Carson Wentz and he’s been beat to hell as well. And basically Kevin O McConnell is trying to get that ankle to 100 100%. Because he’s trying to set him up for success. And I I understand it because JJ McCarthy is Kevin McConnell’s precious. And putting him out there behind a bad offensive line and a spot where he can’t move and protect himself and also he can’t use his mobility. Plus that plant foot is where the ankle sprain is, his right foot. So that affects mechanics and accuracy and wants to put him in the best spot to succeed. Fully understand it, but at a certain point as well of the season season keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping away. Uh but luckily, help may be on the Wii. Uh rap sheet Vikings fan page. Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy, barring a setback, is expected to start next Sunday against the Lions per rap sheet. Seven weeks after his eye ankle sprain, Mh McCarthy will return to action. So, it’s good to see. It’s good to see. And I I I know what you’re saying. Looking at the schedule was like, “Well, why are you starting at at Detroit, man? This is a Super Bowl. It’s it’s going to be a tough uh it’s going to be a tough environment, tough defense, you’re on the road, whole lot of things.” Well, there isn’t a perfect landing spot. Every single game is tough. and if he’s 100% g get him in there getting reps and and try to save the season. And also, by the way, oh yeah, Jonathan James McCarthy has never lost a game in the state of Michigan. No big deal. No big deal, right? So, I I feel like, you know, the Vikings have tried to water with Wentz over the last couple weeks and respect to him. He’s played through a lot of injuries and adversity, but th this this is what we signed up for. This is where we parked our car and hopefully uh the Vikings uh offensive line as well as defense can get their is together and we can say f it we ball. Just getting after things, man. Uh anyways, your thoughts are thoughts. Reportedly, reportedly JJ McCarthy is going to start next week at Detroit. We’re back, man. And and besides the whole Detroit thing, just you got three you got two games at home against the Ravens and the Bears. Two very winnable games. Then you’re on the road at Green Bay, at Seattle, Sam Darnable, you’re back home against the Commies, which all of a sudden seems like a pretty good game, right? So, myopically, I understand it would have been nice to have him back sooner, especially since it didn’t put him on IR, but those spots are being used up. So, just glad that he’s back, glad that he’s fully healthy, and now we can make a full determination of how he’s going to do the rest of the way cuz I still think and I still believe uh that JJ McCarthy is indeed the future franchise quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings. Can’t wait to see him. And Kevin McConnell, the quarterback whisper whisper whisper like like the yin-yang twins, man. Where do you see my QB? Something like that. Anyways, you guys are the best you have to do. No more whispering. Skull production value.

  9. Good! He needs to get back on the field and get more reps. Look at Drake Maye, the Pats decided to play him last year and he was up and down. Now, he's one of the best QBs in the league this season, 12 TDs and only 2 ints. JJ needs to get more playing time and hopefully he'll get better and next year, he'll ball like Maye!

  14. This has been the problem with the owners. First, they extended Zimmer, and then he got fired after the next season. Now, they've just extended KOC and Kwesi. Let's say they failed this year and next year. What are they going to do? Fire them both? But they owed so much money to them just like Zimmer. Lol

  21. Please play with a focus on the future, not on results! Please do not commit any more money-grabbers, but give them up and collect Draftpicks! Please let Max Brosmer play if JJ McCarty fails! I want a team that gives me at least hope for a title! Currently, we have too many players under contract who were released by other teams for good reasons… The players are either too bad, too injury-prone, or both at the same time!

  23. Man, Bo Nix just keeps getting better under Sean Payton every week. I'm so happy for this guy who battled through the worst of the SEC in college and made his jump. This guy never quit and is never hurt. Such a resilient competitor. What a genius pick by the Denver Broncos.

Awesome news! 👍If McCarthy needs adrenaline to get back into the groove he'll get it front of a loud crowd in Michigan, against the Lions! 👍Let's just hope the rest of the team is totally juiced about going to war, right from the start of the game, for all 60 minutes. 👍And let's hope it fires up Hargrave & Allen, so they, Redmond, Greenard, Taylor & hopefully AVG can make Goff's day absolutely miserable! SKOL!!!

    6th overall pick.
