The St. Louis Cardinals have one of their worst games of the season, getting blanked in Pittsburgh, seven to nothing. Hey, it’s JD from Lockton Cardinals. And this was an atrocious game on both sides of the ball. The offense gets little to nothing off journeyman left-hander Andrew Heene. A man who gave up 14 earned runs over eight innings in his last two starts. Comes out and just dominates. Just makes the Cardinals look foolish with his lack of VO. Had a no hitter going into the sixth inning. Just a gross day at the plate. Speaking of gross, Eric Fetty got schmamored again. Gave up another leadoff home run just like he did in his last start against the Cubs. Then went on to allow seven runs on 10 hits over five innings. He’s now allowed 14 runs in his last two starts. He’s 0 and4 in June and three-8 on the year. None of that is good enough for a team that’s competing for a playoff spot or going to help the Cardinals come trade deadline time if they were hoping to get something even remotely decent in return for them. Man, I was all for bringing Fedde into the fold last year, along with bringing back Tommy Pham, in exchange for a Tommy Edman that was just in perpetual rehab. But this, man THIS is not exactly what I was expecting to see out of him this year. Two complete BOMBS in his last two outings??? He spent more time looking over his shoulder than flexing coming off the mound.
And the bats against lefties. Oh my. THAT has GOT to be fixed. Your starter can't keep anybody off the bases and your offense can't get a hit against an iffy lefty. Talk about a recipe for a Redbird Roaster it's not even funny.
Now can we take Fedde out of the starting rotation?
