NHL Highlights | Oilers vs. Canucks – October 26, 2025
game. Vancouver led two nothing with 25 minutes to play. Here we go. McDavid against Elias Patterson and the Oilers take the opening face off and Majapani. The mistakes they made that cost outnumbered rushes the other way. We’ll have to be a lot cleaner in the offensive zone when they’re on the attack. Making sure that safety valve is there. We talked about it in the open a little bit over a three-game stretch. The Oiler power play. Meyers smacked it up the right hand side. Short-handed chance. Sherwood drag move waits and shoots and Pickard stayed right with him and made a terrific save. Goals and Leon drive settle the 430. Don’t really feel me that I didn’t get Ovuchkin till late but nice chance short-handed here by keeper Sherard off to a great start. Little tow drag bring it back hesitate try and get Picker to bite. He kicks it off with the right pad. Just a great save on an excellent chance short hand. And then it was Sherwood that gets in the front of that. Heck biting his time. Walman tried to go cross ice. That was broken up by Marcus Patterson. Racing for the puck. Kane won it centered. Besser scores. One- nothing Vancouver. Brock Besser. His ninth goal in his last eight games against Edmonson. Hustle here by the exiler. Evander came to get to this puck first. Emerson tries to close him off, but he spins and throws this one to Brock Besser, who drives himself to the middle between the hash marks. Quick backhand is what fools Pickard here for Besser. You expect him to bring that to the forehand. He’s got such a great release, but he brings it forehand to backhand. Releases it quickly. And he catches Keeper Sherwood with three minutes to go in the first. Ratu, nice play by Seavoy and it creates a twoon one. Tamasic with Howard. He centers Howard denied by Deco. Point blank rebound Meyers and back in the day when you used to actually curve your sticks and whittle them down and nowadays they come almost perfect each one of them. So there’s not a lot that you’re doing with the stick except for cutting it down and taping it up. A save made on Connor Garland by Calvin Picker. Garland Koulak on him. Cross ice. Patterson juggled. Got it back. Loading up. No shot. Lenus Carlson. Garland. Cronic. Penderson. A one-time. He scores. Pickard pushed off and could not recover as that shot wrongfooted him and went inside the left goal post. Elias Peterson three-point night last night spot. First power play we’ve seen without Quinn Hughes on the back end quarterbacking. They go through him a lot on the power play. So, a little different setup here and guys moving around. Heronic’s going to step in place of Hughes on the first power play unit. And good movement here to move this puck around. And then Person, I thought he could have shot it the first time it came to him, but this time he does not hesitate and rips this one in the line. Matas Eckle fires a pass to Leon Drytle. Beautiful look. Nan Hopkins denied by Geekco. Nan Hopkins off the transitional play. Quick change and Dry Cidle jumps on the ice for Conor McDavid and he threads this right through. Head up the whole way. Look at that pass right onto the tape and Nan Hopkins tries to elevate in tight on the backhand side. One move brings it to the backhand and just not high enough. And now Nurse good pass to Tamasic but Bo checked off a stick and here’s O Connor. Threeon two for the Canucks. Maybe a fouron two. Sherwood’s in. Scores. Three nothing Vancouver. Edmonton is challenging the play to determine if there was offside. So, a look at the off side. [Applause] It’s big Tyler Myers we’re watching here. And it’s the drop pass by O’ Conor and Meyers does look like he might get into the zone before this crosses the line. Offside. No goal. Good challenge. And that’s again a credit to the video staff here. That Demco has been the most significant player on either roster. Here’s McDavid weaving his way through on net denied by Demco and then he tried to muscle it home starting to get the feet moving. Mapani right here. Nice little thread through to Nan Hopkins. Quickly gets that shot away. Kicked off by Thatcher Demco’s left pad and then Conor McDavid. Just a good skate to stick through a couple connects and tried to go back to forehand. Elias Peterson backing off as Bard in control goes for the stretch breakaway. Dry side scores and the Oilers are right back in this game as Leon Dryidle on the night. He plays his 800th has brought Edmonton to within two to one. And you watch this. It looks like he’s taken by Jake the Bruscuer, but he in the change he just kind of goes up the ice. This is a beautiful pass by the way by Bousard. He just kind of waits, waits, and then boom, right onto the tape of Dry Cidle. He makes short work of that breakaway. So kind of waiting in the weeds a little bit, then he takes off. As soon as he takes off, Buchar finds him. Little confusion. Scored his 300th on the opening game versus the Flames. 400. Sorry, selling him short. 400 goal opening night versus the Flames and continues to score. Sherwood drag move and scores his second. Vancouver extends to a 3-1 lead and this one will count. [Applause] Transitional play once again. Sherwood had one come back already. Similar spot that he scored the first one. This one’s going to count though. This is not offside. And this is an individual effort once he gets this puck off the wall. Little toe drag and then picks his spot with a shot in the celebration afterwards. He’s had a strong start to this season to work. And that’s what they prided themselves on. I think they’ve really gotten away from that and have to get back to that identity because right now a Vancouver Conucks team who’s hungrier. The only man to beat Thatcher Demco tonight is this man Leon Dryight. who now has a point in 16 straight games in this building in Vancouver. No one in the history of the league has done that in terms of 16 in a row at Vancouver other than Yari Kurt. Here’s a steal. Rosik reach score and Rosik’s first goal as an Oiler. Cuts the gap to 32. Could feel this coming. You’re right, Jack. in the last few games moving his feet. Nice little knock down on this clearing attempt and then he steals the puck once again. Pod Coulson with some heavy work, but this is just a great job by Roselik to come down as Pod Coulson pressures big Tyler Meers. He pickpockets and then the shot mentality. Don’t try and force a pass, get a puck to the net, picks his spot and beats that Demco. Little tiny making this team defend a little bit. Rosik with his first as an Oiler. Assassin spinning, centering, quick shot, a save Pickard on Pierre Olivier Joseph. We just haven’t seen that in big enough stretches. This is a great save on Joseph though. Here Olivier Joseph again, the defenseman jumping up in the rush. Nice little spin pass by Sassin to find him. And then Picker way out at the tip of the blue paint to cut down the angle and make that save. And what and O’ Conor Sherwood and Koulac Sherwood had it. Heavy collision with Trent Frederick who’s been far more physical tonight in a big shattering check by Emerson and O’ Conor Ros cut it to 3-2 a minute 21 into the period now McDavid to Nan Hopkins back to Booar McDavid cuts in front dishes what time a score this game is tied Leon Didle second of the game is the equalizer there. Short work of this power play and the pressure paying off now for Edmonton in this third period. They’ve gone to work. We talked about getting back to the identity attacking. Good clean passes, support and the move by McDavid out of the corner. Puck comes down low to him. He starts to attack towards the net and then he threads this one through right to dry. Good presence in front of the net by Tomasic taking up some space. And Daddle not going to miss from there. Tomasic even jumps at the last second to make sure that Ecom up the left hand side. Trent Frederick Vancouver tries to muscle it back in. Cleared by Ecom and we’re heading for an extra five minutes of hockey. You write those down before it even starts. Off the draw. The Oilers have the first possession and Bousard will send it all the way back to Calvin Picker. Edmonton two third period goals to create the need for threeon three. Sherwood gives way to Garland. Besser snapshot tip Sherwood. Vancouver prevails 4-3 in overtime. that counts in overtime. Nice little cycle down low. Once he gets himself to the net, you’re going to see Besser look up. He sees him standing right in front of the goalie. Just a perfect redirection. No chance for Calvin Pickard on that one. Oh, [Music]
Kiefer Sherwood scored a pair of goals, including the OT-winner, and Brock Boeser chipped in with a goal and two assists as the Vancouver Canucks edged the Edmonton Oilers 4-3.

No shorty? Man oilers broadcasters is so meh
Love it Oilers beat again
Why did Bouchard not enter the zone at the beginning of overtime…. he passes the puck all the way to his goaltender. What a stupid freaking idiot. Plz Oilers get rid of this awful player.
Why do the cannucks play in the jerseys of Germany ?
It seems like the puck moves better without the captain there
Man Leon was ist bloß los mit euch???
Atm it does not look that Oil would be a serious contender for Cup. Connor must feel that too.
Drysaitil was offside on his goal
Beat the old team. Nice job, EK.
Coilers glazing is crazy. Shorthouse top in the league
5:27–5:28 …. nononono? lol
Sherwood reminding me of Avery lol
Sherwood: enough of this checking Lets score goals instead.

sherwood with the pseudo-hattrick
am i tripping or was that first drai goal offside?
First referee bias now sportsnet bias by using the Oilers broadcast 🙄 also Crysaitl's first goal was offside Canucks should've challenged it
That drai goal looked offside no challenge?
Connor McDownfall
Edmonton need new goalie, Pickard is not good for NHL and Skinner have not optimal form
This oilers team aint gonna get to play offs. Step up
How many Edmonchuk fans there tonight? Glad we shat on their party lol
Сопли слюни слёзы и вой это хвалёный мазутный Макди ноет в раздевалке😅😅😅
5:18 clearly offside bro puck touches his stick when his skates are passed the blue
dawg can we get the canucks broadcast 😭
Oilers defense and Tending are terrible two of the best players in the league and undependable to win a game …CHANGES ARE NEEDED WITH THESE OILERS….Oilers just signed McDavids release and I wouldnt blame him to leave , and Vancouver had many injured players out ot the lineup they had players from the minors in.
A shout out to Demko; shout out to Canucks players who contributed goals & assists, congrats on the OT W.
brilliant defense from bouchard
as it has been for years: It's hard to be an OIlers fan…..
