The Buffalo Sabres beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-2 on October 22, 2025. Detroit opened the scoring with a goal from J.T. Compher. Jason Zucker tied the game soon after, scoring off a pass from Jack Quinn. Tyson Kozak brought the score up to 2-1, scoring late in the second. After a tied second period, Quinn reclaimed the lead, scoring on the power-play. Josh Doan scored the team’s fourth of the night to close the game. Goaltender Colten Ellis made his NHL debut in the matchup, earning his first NHL win with 27 saves.
