DETROIT RED WINGS SAY GOODBYE TO MICHAEL BRANDSEGG-NYGARD: SENT DOWN TO THE AHL

All right, we’ve got some bad news for all of y’all fantasy hockey owners of Michael Branseg Neward of the Detroit Red Wings because earlier this morning it was just announced by the Detroit Red Wings that he has been sent back down to the Grand Rapids Griffins And uh yeah, I don’t know if it’s right to say sent back down and not sent down because he started the year out with the Detroit Red Wings. Yeah, it was a really big deal. Michael Brans Neward made the team and it was a very positive piece of news. Everybody’s talking about, oh, it was the three young guys, three rookies that played so well in the preeason and they forced the Red Wings to make a choice. They had room for one rookie and between EMTT Finny, Maxwell Sandine Pelica, and Michael Brans new guard, they said, “All right, well, we’re not going to only take one.” All of these guys are playing well. So, sorry, Hall. Sorry, Gustiffson. Y’all are out to lunch and y’all are going down on waiverss. But now, it’s been a few games and Michael Brans New is going down to the Grand Rapids Griffins to start out his season over there. Just taking a look at what Brans Nugard was able to accomplish in his NHL stint this year. He had nine games. So if he played one more, he would have had that ELC get reduced by one year. He had one assist. That’s it. Minus 5, two penalty minutes. And now he will be going over to the Griffins to continue and hopefully progress a little bit more. You got to remember this is a guy who wasn’t really all too productive the past few years when he was playing hockey, mostly because he was playing in pro men’s leagues in Sweden. And for the most part, I mean, right now he’s only 20. So, Michael Brans Nugard was doing all of his development in the top Swedish leagues from the Ofenskin to the SHL as a teenager essentially. So, it’s not surprising that his production was never really standing out. But now, in this stint right here, Michael Brans new guard is going to go back over to Grand Rapids. And if he’s able to produce like he did in the playoffs last season, then that will be a really big step in his offensive development because he hasn’t really had a chance to do that the past few years outside of the World Juniors and a few other junior tournaments. Now, for Bransk Newgard in the NHL, yes, it’s amazing that he was able to make the team and that he actually found himself a home. But I think we can all agree that Bransk Nuggard was a little bit better and it seemed that he was more dynamic and was able to make it work a little better in the preeason. It’s of course why fans were so excited to see him make the team because he was producing. He was one of the most productive, if not the most productive players in the entire preseason. Don’t let the one point in nine games in the regular season let you forget that Michael Brans Nugard forced his way to earning a spot because he was one of the most productive players the preeason had in the entire NHL. It was a very rightfully deserved spot, but now it’s like, yeah, NHL gameplay gets a lot tougher once the regular season begins. Just because you’re productive in the preeason doesn’t really mean that anything is going to translate. Remember Ty Ratty with the Edmonton Oilers all those years ago? Everybody thought, “Oh yeah, Ty Ratty is going to be the best player to play with Conor McDavid. He’s getting all these points.” But then the regular season came around and it’s like, wait a minute, this guy can’t really do anything. Michael Brans Nougard can do stuff. It’s not like he’s a total bum, but I think a lot of Red Wings fans can agree that what probably is better for him at this stage is to go down to the AHL, get a little bit more familiar with North American surfaced ice, and just find a way to be offensively productive. Just get that confidence up, be able to get a feel for the angles and the speed. And the AHL is a lot more physically imposing than the National Hockey League at this point. It’s less skill, more physical brutality. So, if Michael Brans Nugard is able to perfect his game down there, all while not burning off a first year of that entry-level contract, then that’s pretty good. I’d say no shame in sending Michael Brans Nugard down to the AHL. No shame in what he was able to do in the National Hockey League. The fact that he made the team in the first place was a glimmer of hope for fans of this hockey team. And it was exponentially grown by three with EMTT Finny and Axel Santi Pelica also going out there and providing that support. I think common consensus from Red Wings fans at the moment is that Michael Brengard, while he was really good in the preseason, he’s just not ready to hold on to an NHL role for 82 games. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Like, it’s fine for him to still be young and developing. He’s only 20 years old. He just needs more time. You could see it when he had the puck in the offensive zone. He was kind of antsy and maybe a little bit too quick to make a pass, not really able to let the game breathe on his stick a little bit longer, which was kind of different in the preseason. like he was able to be a bit more confident and hold on to the puck more and find his spots, shoot and score a lot more in the preeason. So, that was working really well for him to kick off his Detroit Red Wings career. But so far through nine games, there’s a lot to be learned here. Now, we’ll see whether or not if the Detroit Red Wings end up getting themselves an injury or something later down the line. Is Michael Bransack New Guard an immediate call-up option? My gut instinct says probably not. They probably want to send him down to the AHL for the rest of the year. Ideally, they wouldn’t want to have to burn off a year of that ELC by having him play another NHL game. But injuries permitting, who knows what’s going to be happening there. At the same time, in regards to who replaces Brans Nugard in the lineup, who knows if it’s a Carter Mazour or somebody else. Patrick Kane, I don’t really think he’s going to be back for a while. So yeah, we can just wait and see what happens at this point. You got to also think about it like Nate Danielson is coming back soon as well. So if there’s already a roster spot for him opening up, then this is a pretty good opportunity for him. Even though it doesn’t seem like he’ll be coming back right away. But ultimately, if Michael Brans Nugard is going to be given keys to the car with the Grand Rapids Griffins, he’ll be a firstline guy. He’ll be used in all situations. he’ll just be tossed to the wolves. I think that’s a pretty good thing, especially for a guy who’s already proven that he can produce at the AHL level see the Grand Rapids Griffins playoff run last year. So for Michael Bransen New Guard, it’s the first of many rookies getting sent down. We also saw Braden Coots in Vancouver get sent down early. Jet Luchenko got sent down. Brady Martin got sent down as well. So yeah, we’re sort of getting to that period where if these rookies are not able to hang, they’re going to be starting to get sent down at this point because nine games is approaching. I mean, a lot of these guys got sent down way before nine games was even within range. So, you can let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about where Brans Nugard fits on that list and what are your thoughts on him going down to the Grand Rapids Griffins in the AHL to presumably play out the rest of his 2526. 1. Going down will benefit MBN more than staying up. I think finne and ACP stay up. This makes Jonathan a lock in the lineup. Danielson and mazur will get the next shot for being called up or Stevie will sign a veteran for cheap.

  2. He will be ok he needs to be better like a lot of these young guys. He needs to get stronger and play better period. He will be back at some point most likely still needs to develop more. Bring up Mazur and Lombardi give them a chance. I really hope Rasmussen and Soderbloom play better soon or please send them down or trade them. Anyone know when Kane is coming back? Danielson?

  3. The tools are there, but he was clearly lacking the pace to keep up. He's better off improving all aspects of his game in GR than getting stuck on a checking line with Copp and Compher. And, he is ELC slide eligible, so this gets them an extra year on the ELC.

  4. What you said was exactly right. He's a big boy that's just going get bigger and he uses it, unlike Soderblom. He looked like he was clenching his stick out there. I think it's time for Carter Mazur to return. He has 4G and 2A in 5 games with the Griffins. If he can stay then I see Berggren being dealt. I would, also, like to see Dominik Shine come back to stay. He gives 110% every night, plays physical and would help out on the PK. An excellent 4th liner, maybe 3rd.

  5. Time to get MBN deserved the spot he’ll be great but needs to refine his game in GR. It’s time to mazer a shot, then when Nate is up the speed we can send Ras down
